SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE READ BEFORE OPERATING THIS EQUIPMENT.

Before using the unit, be sure to read all operating instructions carefully. Please note that these are general precautions and may not pertain to your unit.

  1. Read these instructions.
  2. Keep these instructions.
  3. Heed all warnings.
  4. Follow all instructions.
  5. Do not use this product near water and moisture, for example: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool. No objects such as vases should be placed on the unit.
  6. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. It may damage the screen. Use a dry cloth for cleaning only.
  7. Slots and openings in the cabinet and in the back or bottom are provided for ventilation, to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat source. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been adhered to.
  8. Minimum distances 10cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilations.
  9. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  10. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  11. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  12. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

  1. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. Use only power source as indicated.
  2. Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in fire or electric shock. Never spill or spray any type of liquid on the product.
  3. Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  4. Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.
  5. Do not use the product near inflammable or explosive sources.
  6. Keep the device out of direct sunlight and away from other sources of extreme heat or cold.
  7. Use the apparatus in moderate climates. (Work temperature 0^ +40^ )
  8. The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and must be easily accessible.
  9. The mains plug should be easily accessed during intended use.
  10. To completely disconnect the power input, the mains plug shall be disconnected from the mains, as the disconnecting part is the mains plug.
  11. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed near them.
  12. Mains plug is used as disconnect device and it should remain readily accessible during intended use. In order to disconnect the apparatus from the mains completely, the mains plug should be disconnected from the main socket outlet completely.
  13. At full power, listening to a music player for prolonged periods can damage the user's hearing.

UNPACKING THE DEVICE

When unpacking, ensure that the following elements are included:

1 x Tower base 1 x Microphone

1 x Instruction manual 3 x Screws

1 x 3.5mm AUX cable 3 x Washers

WARNING: All packaging materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire ties and tags are not part of this product and should be discarded.

INSTALLING THE BASE

  1. Use a screwdriver (not included) and the screws and washers to assemble the tower base with the speaker (main body). See the diagrams shown below.
  2. Stand the tower on its base and supply it with power.

Note: it is not recommended to operate the tower speaker without the base attached.

POWER SOURCE

The Bluetooth® Sound & Light Tower operates on AC 110-240V, 50/60HZ.

AC operation

  1. Unwind the AC power cord to its full length.
  2. Connect the plug to the AC mains inlet of the unit, and then the mains plug into a standard AC socket outlet.

Note: Make sure the AC plug is fully inserted into the socket outlet.

  1. To switch the unit off completely, turn off power and volume before withdrawing the power cord from the wall outlet.

NOTE:

  • The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
  • Please disconnect the mains plug from the AC outlet if the appliance is not going to be used for a long period of time.

WARNING: Malfunction or loss of memory may be caused by strong frequency interference or electrostatic discharge. Should any abnormal function occur, unplug the unit from the mains socket and plug it back in.

TURNING THE DEVICE ON AND OFF

  1. Press the STANDBY/MODE button once to turn the unit on.
  2. Press and hold STANDBY/MODE for three seconds to turn the unit off.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Volume

  1. Turn the volume knob to the right to increase the volume. You may also press VOL + on the remote.
  2. Turn the volume knob to the left to decrease the volume. You may also press VOL - on the remote.

Note: "L00" is the minimum volume and "L30", the maximum volume.

CAUTION: Too high volume, especially when using headphones, can damage your hearing. For this reason, please turn the volume down.

Mute

Press the Mute button on the remote to turn off the sound. Press again to turn on the sound again.

Echo/Pitch

Note: The Echo effect can only be activated when a microphone or guitar is connected. Press this button repeatedly to choose ECHO (reverbration) for microphone/guitar or PITCH effect for speaker.

Play/Pause

Press the Play/Pause button to play or pause the music.

Next

  1. In Bluetooth® mode, press the Next button to go to the next track.
  2. When neither microphone nor guitar is connected, press ECHO/PITCH to enter pitch effect. Then, press the Next button on the tower repeatedly to increase the level of pitch for sound of audio device.
  3. When a microphone or guitar is connected, press ECHO/PITCH to enter echo/ pitch effect. Then, press the Next button on the tower repeatedly to increase the echo level of the microphone/guitar or the pitch of sound of speaker.

Previous

  1. In Bluetooth® mode, press the Previous button to go back to the previous track.
  2. When neither microphone nor guitar is connected, press ECHO/PITCH to enter pitch effect. Then, press the Previous button on the tower repeatedly to reduce the level of pitch for sound of audio device.
  3. When a microphone or guitar is connected, press ECHO/PITCH to enter echo/ pitch effect. Then, press the Previous button on the tower repeatedly to reduce the microphone/guitar's echo level or the speaker's sound pitch level.

Robotic Effect

Press the MALE/FEMALE/VOICE button repeatedly to activate the "robot" voice effect, male robotic effect (MALE), female robotic effect (FEMALE) or no effect (VOICE). On the remote, it is the M/F/V button.

Voice

Press the VOICE button on the remote to enter obligato status. Press again to revert.

For accurate information about your audio device, please refer to your device's user manual for details on the Bluetooth® profiles it supports, and how to set the device's Bluetooth® pairing/Searching/Setup mode.

  1. Press the STANDBY/MODE button to switch on the unit. The Bluetooth® indicator flashes on the LED display which indicates that the Bluetooth® mode is effective.
  2. Please press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button for about three seconds. The unit is now ready to be paired.
  3. Activate the Bluetooth® on your device according to your device's user manual. Turn on the Bluetooth® connectivity and make your device "discoverable".
  4. The Bluetooth® indicator flashes quickly to indicate pairing operation. Your Bluetooth® device should search and find the device name "K8050", and then pair to it.
  5. Once paired with a device, the Bluetooth® indicator will stop flashing and will glow steadily. Your device and the tower speaker are now successfully paired.
  6. You can now play music from your device through the Bluetooth® tower speaker.
  7. Set the volume by adjusting the control knob on the tower speaker or the Bluetooth® device. Meanwhile, press the MALE/FEMALE/VOICE button or ECHO/PITCH to adjust the tone.
  8. You may also at the same time play on your guitar or sing into the microphone.

NOTE:

  • The previously paired device (make sure the Bluetooth® is switched on) will connect to the tower speaker automatically once the speaker is powered on and in Bluetooth® mode.
  • Make sure the effective distance between the Bluetooth® device and the tower speaker is within 10m when you use the Bluetooth® function.
  • If the pairing is unsuccessful, re-pair your Bluetooth® device with the speaker by repeating the above steps.
  • Please turn off the speaker when it is not being used for a long period of time.

GUITAR FUNCTION

When the unit is in AUX in mode or Bluetooth® mode, you can operate your guitar (not included) and enjoy the music from the tower speaker at the same time.

  1. Plug one end of the guitar in cable (not included) to the guitar in jack at the back of the tower speaker.
  2. Press the STANDBY/MODE button to turn the unit on, then press STANDBY/ MODE button repeatedly on the unit, or press the MDOE button repeatedly on the remote control to choose your desired mode.
  3. Plug the other end of the cable to the guitar jack on your guitar. Now the sound of guitar can be played through the tower.
  4. Turn the guitar volume control knob to adjust the volume level as desired.
  5. Press the ECHO/PITCH button, then press the PREVIOUS or NEXT button to adjust the reverberation/pitch effect of guitar sound/speaker sound.
  6. Meanwhile you can also press MALE/FEMALE/VOICE button to choose your preferred tone effect.

Note: The guitar in jack is compatible for a second microphone (not included). When you use the microphone on the guitar jack, the microphone volume is controlled by the guitar volume accordingly.

MICROPHONE FUNCTION

When the unit is in AUX in mode or Bluetooth® mode, you can sing along by connecting microphones.

  1. Plug the microphone to the microphone in jack or guitar in jack (if you do not need to play the guitar) at the back of the tower speaker.
  2. Press the STANDBY/MODE button to turn the unit on, then press STANDBY/ MODE button repeatedly on the unit, or the MODE button on the remote control to choose your desired mode.
  3. Tune the microphone volume control knob to adjust the volume level as desired.
  4. Press the ECHO/PITCH button, then press the PREVIOUS or NEXT button on the unit, or ECHO - / + or PITCH - / + on the remote control to adjust desired sound effect level of microphone or speaker.
  5. Meanwhile you also can press MALE/FEMALE/VOICE button to choose your preferred tone effect.

Note: The microphone in jack is compatible for guitar use. When you plug the guitar in the microphone jack, the guitar volume is controlled by the microphone volume accordingly.

CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL DEVICE USING AUX IN

  1. Plug one side of the AUX in cable to the AUX jack located at the back of the unit.
  2. Plug the other side to the audio out or earphone jack of your audio device.
  3. Press the STANDBY/MODE button to select AUX in mode. "AUX" will appear on the LED screen.
  4. Tune the volume control to adjust the volume level as desired.
  5. Meanwhile, you can press the MALE/FEMALE/VOICE button on the unit or ECHO/PITCH to tune your desired tone.
  6. You can also connect a guitar or microphone.
  7. Please remove the AUX in cable if it is not going to be used for a long time and switch off the tower speaker.

Note: When the tower speaker is in AUX mode, the PLAY/PAUSE, PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons on both tower and remote control are disabled.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

SYMPTOMSOLUTION
The tower speaker will not turn on- Make sure AC power plug is connected to the wall socket outlet properly and it has power. - If this does not help, leave the unit unplugged before seeking advice from a qualified person.
Cannot pair successfully- Check whether the speaker is in search mode. - Check whether there are other Bluetooth® receivers around your Bluetooth® device. Turn them off to avoid any disturbance. Attempt to pair again. - You can click “Forget this device” and then repair it again if required. Search for “K8050” on the Bluetooth® device and pair it again.
The volume is lowMake sure the volume has been turned to a medium to high level on the audio device.
Cannot play properly, the music plays intermittentlyCheck whether the distance between the speaker and your Bluetooth® device is out of its working distance (10m), or whether there are some obstacles blocking the communication between the speaker and the Bluetooth® device. Move the speaker or the Bluetooth® device to get the best reception.
The sound is distortedCheck the volume setting on both the speaker and your Bluetooth® device and adjust the volume to a suitable level.

MAINTENANCE

To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your unit from the power source when cleaning. The finish on your unit may be cleaned with a dust cloth and cared for as other furniture. Use a soft, clean cloth moistened with plain, lukewarm water to clean the exterior of the unit. Use caution when cleaning and wiping the plastic parts. Mild soap and a damp cloth may be used on the front panel.

WARRANTY

This product is covered by our 2-year warranty.

For any claim under the warranty or after sale service, please contact your distributor and present a valid proof of purchase. Our warranty covers any manufacturing material and workmanship defect, with the exception of any deterioration arising from the non-observation of the instruction manual or from any careless action implemented on this item (such as dismantling, exposition to heat and humidity, etc.). It is recommended to keep the packaging for any further reference.
