USER MANUAL TB 5300 Testboy
WARNING Read these instructions carefully before use. If the unit is not used according to the manufacturer's instructions, the protection provided by the unit may be impaired.
WARNING Sources of danger are, for example, mechanical parts that can cause serious injuries to persons. There is also a risk of damage to objects (e.g. damage to the unit).
WARNING Electric shock can cause death or serious injury to persons as well as a hazard to the function of objects (e.g. da- mage to the appliance).
WARNING For safety and approval reasons (CE), unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the unit is not permitted. To ensure safe operation with the unit, it is essential to observe the safety instructions, warnings and the chapter "In- tended use".
WARNING Before using the appliance, please observe the following instructions: | Avoid operating the unit near electric welders, induction heaters and other electromagnetic fields. | After abrupt temperature changes, the unit must be adjusted to the new ambient temperature for approx. 30 mi- nutes before use to stabilise it. | At lower temperatures below 5 °C, the readiness of the voltage tester may be impaired. Please ensure sufficient power supply by using suitable batteries that are also specified for the temperature range used! | Do not expose the unit to high temperatures for a long time. | Avoid dusty and humid environmental conditions. | The voltage tester and accessories are not toys and do not belong in children's hands! | In commercial facilities, the accident prevention regulations of the Federation of Institutions for Statutory Acci- dent Insurance and Prevention for electrical installations and equipment must be observed.
Please observe the five safety rules: 6 Unlock 7 Secure against restarting 8 Determine the absence of voltage (2-pole absence of voltage must be determined) 9 Ground and short circuit 10 Cover adjacent live parts
WARNING | A voltage tester with relatively low impedance will not indicate all interference voltages with an original value above ELV compared to the reference value 100 k . When in contact with the equipment under test, the vol- tage tester may temporarily reduce the interference voltages to a level below ELV by discharging; however, after removing the voltage tester, the interference voltage will return to its original value. | A voltage tester with a relatively high internal impedance will not clearly indicate "operating voltage not present" compared to the reference value of 100 k when interference voltage is present. | If the "Voltage present" indicator does not appear, it is strongly recommended to insert the earthing device be- fore starting work. | If the indication "voltage present" appears on a part that is considered to be disconnected from the installation, it is strongly recommended to take additional measures (e.g..: Use of a suitable voltage tester, visual inspection of the disconnection point in the electrical network, etc.) to prove the "operating voltage not present" condition of the part of the installation to be tested and to establish that the voltage indicated by the voltage tester is a fault voltage.
Intended use Intended for use by qualified electricians and skilled personnel only.Safety instructions Testboy
