Disposal
Dear Testboy-customer, with the purchase of our product you have the option of returning the device to suitable collection points for electronic waste at the end of its life cycle.

WEEE regulates the take-back and recycling of waste electrical equipment. Manufacturers of electrical appliances are obliged to take back and recycle electrical appliances that are sold free of charge. Electrical appliances may then no longer be placed in the "normal" waste streams. Electrical equipment must be recycled and disposed of separately. All appliances covered by this directive are marked with this logo.
Disposal of used batteries

As the end user, you are legally obliged (Battery Act) to return all used batteries and rechargeable batteries; disposal with household waste is prohibited!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the adjacent symbols indicating that they must not be disposed of with household waste.
The designations for the decisive heavy metal are:
Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.
You can hand in your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the collection points of your municipality or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
Quality certificate
All within the Testboy GmbH are permanently monitored by a quality management system. The Testboy GmbH also confirms that the test equipment and instruments used during calibration are subject to permanent test equipment monitoring.
Declaration of conformity
The product complies with the latest directives. For more information, please visit www.testboy.de
Operation
Thank you for choosing the Testboy TV 329 you have chosen. Testboy TV 329 is a measuring instrument for non-contact temperature measurement. It was built according to the current state of the art.
Operation
The intended use includes the non-contact measurement of temperatures from -50 to +550 °C. Only 1.5 V AA batteries or identical types may be used for the power supply.
Product description
Non-contact temperature measurement is ideal on rotating or live parts, etc., as conventional contact temperature measurement is not possible on such parts. The device features fast response time and a high temperature measuring range in a robust and practical pistol housing. The data hold function allows the measured value to be stored for a short time. Furthermore, the device is equipped with a laser that can be switched off and a backlight.

To avoid electric shocks, do not allow moisture to enter the housing.
Clean the housing at regular intervals with a dry cloth without cleaning agents. Do not use abrasives, scouring agents or solvents.
Blow loose dirt particles off the IR lens. Brush off any remaining dirt with a fine lens brush.
Safety

When the units are open, remember that some internal capacitors may still have life-threatening voltage potential even after they have been switched off.
If any faults or abnormalities are found, take the unit out of service and ensure that it cannot be used until it has been checked.
Battery change
If the unit is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries and store the unit in an environment that is not too humid or too hot.
Do not leave used batteries in the meter, as even leak-proof batteries can corrode, releasing chemicals that can harm your health or destroy the meter.
Procedure
- Open battery compartment
- Positive battery terminal
- Negative battery terminal
Then close the battery compartment.

To measure temperatures, point the aperture of the IR sensor at the object to be measured and press the temperature measurement button.
Make sure that the spot size is not larger than the object to be measured. The currently determined temperature value is shown in the LCD display. To locate the hottest spots of an object, the Testboy TV 329 is pointed at a point outside the desired area and the area is then "searched" with "zigzag" movements while holding down the temperature measurement button until the hottest spot is found. After you have released the key for temperature measurement, the temperature value determined is displayed for a few more seconds. During this time, "HD" is displayed. After these approx. 10 seconds, the unit switches itself off automatically to save battery capacity. Select the desired unit for the display (°C/°F). When the laser is switched on, the laser dot marks the approximate centre of the measuring area. This facilitates precise measurements.
Functions
Target laser
When the laser is switched on, the laser dot shows you approximately the centre of the measuring area. This makes it easier to take precise measurements. To activate the laser, press the "laser symbol button " when the unit is switched on until the laser symbol appears in the LCD display. If you now press the key for temperature measurement, the laser beam will indicate approximately the centre of the measuring spot. To deactivate, press the "laser symbol key " while the unit is switched on until the laser symbol goes out.
Spot size - Distance to Spot Ratio (D/S)
To obtain accurate measurement results, the object to be measured must be larger than the measuring surface of the infrared thermometer. The determined temperature is the average temperature of the measured area. The smaller the measuring object, the shorter the distance to the infrared thermometer must be. The exact measurement spot size can be found in the following diagram. This is also printed on the device.

For accurate measurements, the measuring object should be at least twice as large as the measuring spot!

D 1500 1000 500 S φ 125 φ 84 φ 42 Unit: mm D : S = 12 : 1i.e. at a distance of 100 cm, the measuring surface has a size of approx. 8.5 cm.
°C/°F changeover
With the "°C" and "°F" keys, the temperature display can be switched between °C and °F.
Emissivity
The unit is preset to an emissivity of 0.95! The emissivity is a value used to describe the energy radiation characteristics of a material. The higher this value, the higher the
material's ability to emit radiation. Many organic materials and surfaces have an emissivity of about 0.95. Metallic surfaces or shiny materials have a lower emissivity. More accurate readings can be obtained by masking the measurement point with black paint or tape. Measurements cannot be taken through transparent surfaces such as glass. Instead, the surface temperature of the glass surface is measured.
