USER MANUAL 18220001 Gastronoma

INTRODUCTION To get the best out of your new appliance, please read this user guide carefully before using it for the rst time. Take particular note of the safety precautions. We also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of your appliance. SAFETY MEASURES General

  • This appliance may only be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been given instructions concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.
  • Incorrect use of this appliance may cause personal injury and damage.
  • Use for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee Terms).
  • For domestic use only. Not for outdoor or commercial use.
  • For connection to 230 V, 50 Hz only.24
  • Never submerge the appliance, cord or plug in water, and no water must be allowed to enter the motor section.
  • Never touch the appliance, cord or plug with wet or damp hands.
  • Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight, high temperatures, humidity, dust or corrosive substances.
  • Never leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
  • Keep the appliance under constant supervision while in use. Keep an eye on children in the vicinity of the appliance when it is being used. The appliance is not a toy.
  • The appliance is not to be used by persons with reduced sensitivity, physical or mental disabilities or persons who are unable to use the appliance, unless supervised or instructed by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Use only accessories supplied with the appliance or those recommended by the manufacturer.25
  • Always place the appliance on a dry, level and rm surface, and well away from the edges.
  • The appliance should only be switched on when the bowl and lid have been attached and contain liquid and/or potatoes.
  • Ensure that the appliance is correctly assembled before switching it on.
  • Do not use the bowl if it is cracked or damaged in any way.
  • Do not leave the appliance running for more than 4 minutes at a time. If the appliance has been running for more than 4 minutes, leave it to cool down before you use it again.
  • Be careful not to touch the sharp edges of the grater during use and cleaning!
  • Never insert anything into the openings of the appliance. Cord and plug
  • Do not let the cord hang out over the edge of the work surface.
  • Check that it is not possible to pull or trip over the cord or any extension cord.
  • Keep the cord and appliance away from heat sources, hot objects and naked ames.26
  • Turn off the appliance and remove the plug from the socket before cleaning, or when the appliance is not in use. Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
  • Ensure that the cord is fully extended.
  • The cord must not be twisted or wound around the appliance.
  • Check regularly that neither cord nor plug is damaged and do not use if they are, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged in any other way.
  • If the appliance, cord or plug has been damaged, have the appliance inspected and if necessary repaired by an authorised repairer. Never try to repair the appliance yourself. Please contact the store where you bought the appliance for repairs under the guarantee. Unauthorised repairs or modications to the appliance will invalidate the guarantee.27

4. Grater (not visible on picture)

  • Remove all packaging and transport materials from the inside and outside of the appliance.
  • Check that the appliance has no visible damage and that no parts are missing.
  • Clean all parts that come into contact with food before using the appliance for the rst time (or after prolonged storage). See “Cleaning”.

1. Place the motor section (5) on a at

surface, e.g. a kitchen counter, and make sure it is standing rmly.

2. Place the bowl (3) on the motor

section’s drive shaft and t the grater (4) into the middle of the bowl.

3. Pour approx. 4dl cold water into the

bowl so that the outer edge of the grater is covered. Do not cover the grater itself with water.

4. Rinse/scrub the potatoes to loosen

any earth on them. Then place a layer of the potatoes on the grater with a little distance between them.

6. Connect the plug to the mains socket

and switch on the appliance using the on/off switch (6).

7. Allow the appliance to run for approx.

2 minutes until the potatoes are peeled. o There may be loose peel on the potatoes. If so, rinse a couple of potatoes under the tap to see if they are peeled.28

o Peeling time will depend on e.g. the quantity and shape of the potatoes.

8. Close the lid and allow the appliance

to peel again briey, if necessary. o The appliance must never run for more than 4 minutes.

9. Switch the appliance off at the on/off

button and remove the plug from the mains.

10. Carefully lift the bowl off the motor

section. Take care: Water can escape from the hole in the middle of the bowl. Tip the potatoes out of the bowl and rinse thoroughly.

11. If the potatoes still have ”eyes”,

remove these with a knife or using the grater. Remove the grater from the bowl, run the potatoes lightly over the grater surface.

12. Take the appliance apart and clean all

parts before storing. See “Cleaning”. Salad spinner

5. Switch on the appliance. Centrifugal

force dries the salad. The procedure can be observed through the transparent lid.

6. The procedure can be repeated as

often as necessary to achieve the desired result. NOTE!

  • Do not leave the appliance running for more than 4 minutes at a time. If the appliance has been running for more than 4 minutes, leave it to cool down before you use it again.
  • Never grate more than 1 kg of potatoes at a time. CLEANING When cleaning the appliance, you should pay attention to the following:
  • Unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
  • Do not immerse the motor section of the appliance in water and make sure no water enters the appliance.
  • Clean the appliance by wiping it with a damp cloth. A little detergent can be added if the appliance is heavily soiled.
  • The parts are not dishwasher safe, with the exception of the grater, which is dishwasher safe. Clean the bowl and lid in warm soapy water.
  • Do not use scouring pads, steel wool or any form of strong solvents or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the appliance, as they can damage the external surfaces of the appliance.
  • IMPORTANT! Allow to dry completely after cleaning. Do not use the appliance if it is damp.
  • Always clean the appliance before putting it away if it is not to be used for a prolonged period.29
