Frequently Asked Questions - 18100003 Gastronoma

How do I descale my Gastronoma coffee maker?
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, fill the tank, and run a brew cycle without coffee. Repeat with fresh water twice to rinse. Descale every 3 months.
Can I use paper filters with this coffee maker?
Yes, the coffee maker accepts size 4 paper filters in addition to the included permanent filter.
Why does my coffee maker stop brewing before the carafe is full?
This may be due to mineral buildup. Try descaling. Also ensure the carafe is properly placed and the anti-drip valve is not stuck.
Can I brew more than 10 cups at once?
The maximum capacity is 1.25 liters, which is about 10 cups. Do not exceed the marked water level.
How do I clean the permanent filter?
Rinse the filter under running water and use a soft brush if needed. It is dishwasher safe (top rack).
What should I do if the coffee tastes burnt?
Burnt taste can be due to over-extraction or leaving coffee on the hot plate too long. Try using a coarser grind and remove the carafe after brewing.
Does the coffee maker have an automatic shut-off?
Yes, it has auto shut-off that activates after 1 hour of inactivity or when the carafe is removed.
Can I use ground coffee directly without a filter?
No, always use the permanent filter or a paper filter to prevent grounds in your cup.
How do I replace the carafe?
Replacement carafes are available from Gastronoma support. Ensure you order the correct model (18100003).
Is the coffee maker compatible with a timer?
This model does not have a built-in timer. It must be started manually by pressing the on/off switch.
