This device is not designed for use by persons (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities, or with insufficient experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or have received instructions on how to use the device by this person.
Pay attention to the country-specific regulations, as well as the specifications of the material producer.
This product is designed for industrial use.
Dust containing asbestos must not be vacuumed.
Inflammable dust must not be vacuumed.
No inflammable or explosive solvents, material saturated with solvent, dust that represents an explosion hazard, liquids such as petrol, oil, alcohol, thinner or material that is hotter than 60^ are allowed to be vacuumed. This would cause an explosion and fire hazard! You are not allowed to use the device in the vicinity of inflammable gases or substances.
The user bears sole responsibility for any damage caused by inappropriate use.
Generally accepted accident prevention regulations and the enclosed safety information must be observed.

4. General Safety Information

5. Special Safety Instructions

For your own protection and for the protection of your device, pay attention to all

This device is not designed for the use of persons (including children)
with limited physical, sensory or mental aptitude or lack of experience and/or knowledge.
Never allow children to use the device.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
Before changing brushes or other accessories: switch off the device and pull plug out of the wall socket.
Caution! Only use accessories that are included with the device or specified operating Instructions.
The use of other accessories may impair safety.
Caution! Clean the water level limiter regularly and thoroughly and check it for signs of damage.
You must not perform any work other than that described here.
In the event of misuse, improper operation or unprofessional repair work no liability shall be assumed by us for any damage incurred.
When the device is not in use, leave the hose on the device to prevent dust accidentally escaping.
Do not operate devices or accessories under the following conditions:
- If the device has recognisable damage (cracks/breaks),
- If there is a suspected non-visible defect (after a fall).
Do not point the nozzle, hose or tube at people or animals.

If any foam or water egresses, switch off immediately. Empty the container and, if needed, the filter.
Never sit or stand on the device.
Always set up the hose so there is no danger of tripping.
Prior to any servicing work, cleaning of the and after each use, switch off the device and pull out the mains plug.
Steam cleaners and high-pressure cleaners must not be used to clean the vacuum cleaner.
Do not leave the device unattended.
The vacuum cleaner should not be used or stored outside in wet conditions.
Never open the device outdoors during rain or storms.
IMPORTANT - This machine must only be stored indoors.
Acids, acetone and solvents can corrode the device components.
Mould contamination can result if the appliance is not cleaned for an extended period, especially if used in areas where foodstuffs are processed: Always clean and disinfect the device immediately after use.
The inside of the cover must always be kept dry.
Do not use the device outdoors in cold weather.
The device must not be operated in areas with an explosion hazard.
Ensure that the vacuum cleaner is steady.

While the device is suitable for extracting substances that pose a slight threat to health, it is not appropriate for reducing wood dust in inhaled air.
Dust from material such as paint containing lead, some wood species, minerals and metal may be harmful. Contact with or inhalation of the dust may cause allergic reactions and/or respiratory diseases to the operator or bystanders.
Certain kinds of dust are classified as carcinogenic such as oak and beech dust especially in conjunction with additives for wood conditioning (chromate, wood preservative).
If the extracted air is discharged into the room, ensure there is an adequate air change rate (L) in the room. Observe the regulations that apply in your country.
Caution! This device contains dust that is harmful to health. Discharge and maintenance operations (including disposal of the dust collection containers) must only be carried out by qualified specialists wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment.
6. Special safety instructions for battery packs
Before fitting the battery pack, make sure that the machine is switched off.
Remove the battery pack from the machine before making any adjustments, changing tools, maintaining or cleaning.

Protect battery packs from water and moisture!

Do not expose battery packs to fire!
Do not use faulty or deformed battery packs!
Do not open battery packs!
Do not touch or short circuit battery pack contacts!

A slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from defective Li-lon battery packs!

If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your skin, rinse immediately with dry of water. If battery fluid leaks and comes into contact with eyes, wash them with cleaner and seek medical attention immediately!
If the machine is defective, remove the battery pack from the machine. Remove the battery pack from the machine before making any adjustments, changing tools, maintaining or cleaning.
Before fitting the battery pack, make sure that the machine is switched off.
Hold the machine when removing and inserting the battery pack so that the on/off switch cannot be unintentionally pressed.
If the machine is defective, remove the battery pack from the machine.
Do not remove the battery pack when the device is in operation.
Before replacing the battery pack, switch off the device.
Do not operate devices or accessories under the following conditions:

Battery pack is defective,

If there is a suspected non-visible defect (after a fall).
Only use the device with the battery cover closed. Keep the battery cover closed, even when the battery pack is not inserted. After closing the battery pack cover, check to ensure the locking mechanism on the cover has engaged.
Do not use the device in low (< - 20^) or very high (>40^) temperatures.
Transport of Li-1on battery packs:
The shipping of Li-lon battery pack is subject to laws related to the carriage of hazardous goods (UN
3480 and UN 3481). Inform yourself of the currently valid specifications when shipping Li-lon battery packs. If necessary, consult your freight forwarder. Certified packaging is available from Metabo.
Only send the battery pack if the housing is intact and no fluid is leaking. Remove the battery pack from the machine for shipping. Prevent the contacts from short-circuiting (e.g. by protecting them with adhesive tape).

8. Initial Operation

Prior to use, check that you are using a battery pack suitable for the device.
8.1 Battery pack
Charge the battery pack (19) before use.
Recharge the battery pack if performance diminishes.
The ideal storage temperature is between 10^ and 30^ .
8.2 Removing and inserting the battery pack
Remove: Press the battery pack release button (18) and remove the battery pack (19).
To insert: Slide the battery pack (19) in until it engages.
- recommended capacity 8.0 Ah and greater. The use of battery packs with a smaller capacity (Ah) reduces the service life but not the suction power.
- We recommend the use of battery packs with identical item number.
- The use of battery packs with different capacity (Ah) is permitted. In this case, the battery pack with the smaller capacity (Ah) determines the useful life.
8.3 Use a fleece filter bag 635424000 (26) (see fig.C S.2)
We recommend using fleece filter bags for:
- Applications, where small amounts of fine dust are created (e.g. spot-grinding and grinding of paint and lacquer coatings, extraction of drilling applications with small diameters < 10 mm of short duration, etc.).
- Use of machines, such as: routers, planers, small grinding machines, etc.
When using a fleece bag the filter cleaning is nonfunctional.

See illustration C, page 2. Insert a new fleece filter bag in the fixture (25) provided.
Replace the upper part of the device on the container, close the snap locks.
8.4 Use a PE disposal bag 635425000/ 635426000 (27) (see fig.C S.2)
We recommend the use of PE-disposal bags for:
- Applications, where larger amounts of dust are created (e.g. removal of plaster surfaces, spot-grinding and grinding of spreeds, etc.).
- Use of machines, such as e.g.: renovation milling machines, renovation grinders, drywall grinders, wall grinders etc.

Spread out the PE disposal bag (27) evenly across the container floor. The round holes of the bag must be on the inside of the container. Arrange the edges of the PE disposal bag around the container rim so that the PE disposal bag is firmly clamped on all sides by the upper part (9) once replaced. The marking line on the bag must be positioned on the edge of the container (see fig. C p. 2).
Replace the upper part of the device on the container, close the snap locks.
8.5 Use a special filter bag H-class 635427000 (28) (see fig.C S.2)
The special filter bag must be used in the case of harmful dust.

Spread out the PE disposal bag evenly across the container floor. Arrange the edges of the PE filter bag around the container rim so that the PE bag is firmly clamped on all sides by the attached upper part (9). The round holes of the bag must be on the inside of the container. The marking line on the bag must be positioned on the edge of the container (see fig. C p. 2).
Insert the fleece inner bag glued to the PE outer bag into the fixture (25) provided.
Replace the upper part on the container and close the snap locks
8.6 Mount accessory fixtures for nozzles and hose (29)
Fix accessory fixture (29) with enclosed screws and suitable tools to the device as sown in fig. D p. 2.
8.7 Installing the suction hose
Plug the rear end of the suction hose (23) into the suction opening (4).
8.8 Removing and attaching the connecting sleeve (36)

Removal:
Loosen the fitted connecting sleeve (36) by turning against the hose fixture (fig. F).
Attaching:
Insert the front hose end (24) with the quick-release catch into the sleeve until the catch engages.
8.9 Regulating the suction power
By turning the auxiliary air slide (37) the air supply on the air intake (38) and thus the suction power can be regulated.
9. Device
9.1 Switching On/Off, suction power
Prior to switching on the device set the respective suction power via the rotary switch (14):
Off= vacuum cleaner off
ECO = vacuum cleaner on (manual operation)
Boost = high suction power.
The suction power can also be changed with the machine in operation.
9.2 Manual mode
Move the switch (5), if fitted (depending on model*), to "MAN" position and move the switch (14) to "ECO" or "Boost" position. The device runs continuously. Capacity display (6) shows the battery pack capacity continuously.
9.3 Automatic switch-on "CORDLESS CONTROL" (depending on model)
- Switching off: Move switch (14) to "O" position. Capacity display is off. The device does not use any power.
- Move the switch (5) to "AUTO" and switch (14) to "ECO" or "BOOST" position. The device is now in standby mode and can be switched on and off by means of "CORDLESS CONTROL".
Capacity display (6) shows the battery pack capacity continuously, as long as standby mode is active.
Information on "automatic": If the switch is turned to "AUTO", the vacuum cleaner will be ready for operation for 10 hours (standby). Capacity display (6) shows the battery pack capacity. Without vacuuming, the device will switch off automatically 10 hours after the last operation (sleep mode, capacity display off, the device does not use any power). To wake up the device (restore standby): turn main switch (14) to "OFF" and then again to "ECO" or "BOOST". Alternatively: press the capacity indicator button (7).
Information on "CordlessControl": The device starts/stops automatically when switching on/off the power tool equipped with a CordlessControl (40) transmitter (suction hose). Manual start/stop of the vacuum cleaner is also possible by pressing a button on the CordlessControl transmitter. Follow the operating instructions of the CordlessControl transmitter.
The CordlessControl transmitter is connected to the vacuum cleaner by default. In the event of battery replacement or when replacing the unit, reconnect:
- Turn switch (14) to the "OFF" position.
- Turn toggle switch (5) to the "AUTO" position.
- Press the button on the transmitter (40) until the blue LED flashes.

Keep the transmitter (40) pressed and set switch (14) to "BOOST".
-
Transmitter (40) starts to blink green, keep pressed until the LED goes out.
- The transmitter (40) is now connected to the vacuum cleaner.
9.4 PressClean
See illustration G, page 2. To clean the filter (33) using a strong air flow: Press the button (39) whilst the suction is running (press down three times) while keeping the suction opening shut (on the suction hose or on the container).
9.5 Volume flow control display (12) (only for devices of dust class M and H)
If the volume flow falls below 20m / s the LED flashes red and an acoustic signal is emitted.
The volume flow control display lights up and there is an additional acoustic signal when the container is full and/or if the suction hose is blocked.
10. Use
10.1 Dry Vacuuming
Vacuum using a dry filter, dry device and dry accessories only. If the cartridge is damp, dust may stick and form a crust.
Always use fleece filter bag (26) or PE disposal bag (27) together with pleated filter (33).
10.2 Wet vacuuming
Never operate the machine without inserting filter or special wet filter. The machine may be destroyed and water may also escape.
Before carrying out any wet vacuuming, remove the dry vacuumed material. This process will prevent severe soiling and encrustation.
The appliance has a float system that enables it to switch off the air flow when the maximum liquid level is reached. When this happens, you will hear a distinct change in the sound of the motor. In this case switch off the device. Remove battery pack. Only vacuum liquids when the float (35) is functioning properly (see chapter 12. maintenance).
After switching off, some water may run back out of the hose.
Before emptying, first of all take the suction hose out of the liquid.
If you are then going to dry vacuum, insert a dry filter. If there is frequent switching between dry and wet vacuuming, we recommend the use of a second (replacement) filter. Allow the filter, container and accessories to dry: otherwise dust may adhere to damp components.
Before storage: leave humid filter and the inside of the dust container to dry completely.
10.3 Transport
Remove battery pack.
L class: Leave the hose on the machine to prevent dust from accidentally being released.

M and H class: with the hose disconnected, close the suction inlet with the plug. Insert the hose ends into each other so that no dust can escape from the hose.
Secure the suction hose to the appliance using the accessory fixture (29) and rubber (17).
The upper part (9) must be securely sealed to the container (2) - check that the snap locks (15) are closed.
The handles (8) and (16) are only permitted for manual transport - not for attachment to cranes or similar! Do not lift either the vacuum cleaner or the suitcase attached to the handles overhead of people.
11. Cleaning
11.1 General Cleaning Instructions
Clean the container and accessories with water. Wipe the upper part (9) with a damp cloth.
Caution! This device contains dust that is harmful to health. Discharge and maintenance operations (including disposal of the dust collection containers) must only be carried out by qualified specialists wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment.
Emptying the Container
Only permitted for dusts with occupational exposure limits >1mg / m^3
- Remove battery pack. Secure against unintentional startup.
- Open the snap locks (15). Remove the upper part (9) of the device from the container (2).
- Tip out the container.
Disposing the fleece filter bag (26)
- Remove battery pack. Secure against unintentional startup.
- Put on a dust mask.
- Open the snap locks (15). Remove the upper part (9) of the device from the container (2).
- Close the fleece filter bag and pull upwards from the fixture (25).
- Dispose of the vacuumed material in accordance with legal regulations.
Disposal of the PE disposal bag (27)
- Plug in the charged battery pack.
- Switch on the vacuum cleaner and clean the filter: Press the button (39) ('PressClean' see section 9.4).
- Switch off the vacuum cleaner: turn the switch (14) to the "OFF" position.
- Put on a dust mask.
- Open the snap locks (15). Remove the upper part (9) of the device from the container (2). Before setting down the upper part, turn switch (14) to the "ECO" position so that any falling dust is vacuumed.
- Pull the PE filter bag (27) off the container, close the bag and fix it with a cable tie.
- Dispose of the vacuumed material in accordance with legal regulations.
12. Maintenance
12.1 General instructions
Before performing any maintenance, always switch off the device and remove the battery pack. Secure against unintentional startup.
Clean the device (see chapter 11.).
For maintenance by the user, the vacuum cleaner must be taken apart, cleaned and maintained, to the extent possible, without endangering maintenance staff or other people.
Preventive measures
Appropriate preventive measures include: cleaning the appliance before disassembly; providing local filtered forced ventilation where the vacuum cleaner is disassembled; cleaning of the maintenance area and providing suitable personal protective clothing and equipment.
12.2 Reduction in suction power
If the suction power decreases, carry out the following steps:
- Clean the filter (33): Press button (39) ('PressClean', see section 9.4)
- Empty the container or replace the fleece filter bag (26) or PE disposal bag (27).
- Replace the filter (33), or shake it out, brush it off or remove it, rinse under running water, dry and reinsert (see section 12.3).
12.3 Replacing the filter
- Clean the filter (33) again before replacement: Press the button (39) ('PressClean', see section 9.4).
- Remove battery pack. Secure against unintentional startup.
- Open the snap locks (15). Remove the upper part (9) of the device from the container (2). See illustration E, page 2. Loosen closure (31) (see imprint). Remove filter cover (32) and filter (33).
Seal the old filter immediately in a dust-tight plastic bag and dispose of it in accordance with regulations.
12.4 Water sensor
CAUTION- Regularly clean the mobile float (35) that is incorporated in the filter cage (34) and check it for signs of damage.
12.5 Technical inspection
At least once a year, the manufacturer or a suitably qualified and trained person must carry out a dust test, e.g. to check for damage to the filter, verify that the device is air-tight and that the control unit is functioning correctly.
For maintenance by the user, the vacuum cleaner must be taken apart, cleaned and maintained, to the extent possible, without endangering maintenance staff or other people.
Preventive measures
Appropriate preventive measures include: cleaning the appliance before disassembly; providing local filtered forced ventilation where the vacuum cleaner is disassembled; cleaning of the maintenance area and providing suitable personal protective clothing and equipment.
When carrying out maintenance or repairs, it is essential to dispose of any contaminated objects that cannot be adequately cleaned. These objects must be disposed of using impermeable bags and in accordance with the applicable regulations for removing such waste.

13.1 Reduction in suction power
See the instructions in the section on Cleaning.

13.2 Device will not start
- Has the battery pack been inserted correctly?

Device hood correctly closed? - Has the water sensor cut off? - Empty the container; then switch on and off again.
- Switch (14) in "AUTO" position? - Set to "MAN" position. See chapter 9.1.
- The vacuum cleaner is not switched on or off by means of a power tool, even though switch (5) is set to the "AUTO" position. -- Check Cordless Control transmitter (press button). Is the radio connection ok? Subsequently mount the transmitter directly on the power tool.
Do not interfere with the device. Contact an authorized workshop or Metabo's after-sales service department (see chapter 15. on Repairs).
