How to descale the kettle?

Pour 2 tablespoons of vinegar into boiling water (or use a commercial descaler). Boil, let it sit, then rinse thoroughly. Descale regularly to extend the lifespan of the appliance.

What to do if the water doesn't boil?

Check that the appliance is plugged in and the switch is on (light on). If the light does not turn on, let the appliance cool down before trying again. If the problem persists, contact Bosch after-sales service.

Why does the appliance turn off before the water boils?

This is due to excessive limescale build-up. Descale the appliance as described in the manual. Regular descaling ensures optimal operation.

Can I heat milk or other liquids?

No, use only fresh non-carbonated water. Milk or prepared drinks can burn and damage the appliance. Never fill with other liquids.

How to clean the base?

Unplug the appliance and dry the base with a soft cloth. Never immerse the base in water or put it in the dishwasher. Condensation may form, which is normal.

Can I use the appliance without the limescale filter?

No, the limescale filter must always be in place during use. It prevents limescale deposits from mixing with the water. Clean it regularly by soaking it in vinegar.

What to do if the switch light does not turn on?

Let the appliance cool down for at least 5 minutes. If the problem persists, unplug it and check the socket. If the issue continues, contact Bosch after-sales service.

Can I open the lid during boiling?

No, never open the lid while the water is boiling. There is a risk of boiling water splashing. Wait until the boiling has completely stopped.

Do not exceed the 'max' mark on the kettle (approx. 1.7 L). Overfilling may cause boiling water to splash out.

Preventing material damage

• Clean surfaces which come in contact with food before each use.

Preparing the appliance for first use

1. Remove any packaging material.

2. Remove any stickers or film.

3. Unwind the power cord to the required length.

4. Insert mains plug.

5. Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water, add a tablespoon of vinegar and bring to the boil.

Repeat the process without adding vinegar.

To end the heating process early, move the on/off switch up.

If you lift the kettle from the base and put it down again, the boiling process will not continue.

Preparing the appliance for first use en

If you are descending the appliance with a commercially available descaler, follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and safety.
If you descale the appliance with vinegar, insert 2 tablespoons of vinegar into the water that has been boiled instead of the descaling tablet.
If you use the kettle every day, descale it in shorter intervals.
After descending, remove the limescale filter and place in a little vinegar.
