How do I connect my Edifier R1700BTs speakers via Bluetooth?

Press the volume/input knob on the active speaker or the Bluetooth button on the remote to switch to Bluetooth mode (blue LED flashing). Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or computer and select 'EDIFIER R1700BTs' from the device list. The blue LED stays on once connected.

What should I do if I hear no sound?

Check that the speaker is on and the volume is not at minimum. Make sure the audio cables are properly connected and the audio source is playing a signal. Try switching input modes (Line 1, Line 2, Bluetooth) by turning the knob or using the remote.

How do I use the remote control?

The remote allows you to turn on/off, adjust volume, select inputs (LINE1, LINE2), control Bluetooth playback (previous/next track, pause/play), and enable or disable sound field extension. It operates with a CR2032 battery.

How do I replace the remote control battery?

Turn the battery cover in the direction of the arrow to open. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR2032 battery, respecting polarity (+ facing up). Close the cover by turning in the opposite direction.

Can I connect an external subwoofer?

Yes, the 'Sub Out' port on the rear of the active speaker is intended for this. When you connect a subwoofer, the bass level of the speakers is automatically reduced to let the subwoofer handle the low frequencies.

How do I connect a wired audio source?

Use the supplied RCA-3.5mm audio cable to connect your source (smartphone, computer) to the Line 1 or Line 2 input. Then select the corresponding mode by pressing the volume/input knob or the LINE1/LINE2 buttons on the remote.

My Bluetooth won't connect, what should I do?

Make sure the speaker is in Bluetooth mode (blue LED flashing). If a device is already connected, disconnect it by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button on the remote or the volume/input knob for 2 seconds. Check that your source device is within 10 meters and that Bluetooth is enabled.

How do I clean the Edifier R1700BTs speakers?

Turn off the speaker and unplug it. Clean the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Never use chemicals, alcohol, or solvents. Avoid getting water into the openings.

What are the important safety precautions?

Do not open the enclosure, do not expose to water or humidity, do not place near a heat source, do not block ventilation, and use only indoors. In case of issues, contact an authorized service.

Important safety instruction

1. Please read the instructions carefully. Keep it in safe place for future reference.
2. Use only accessories approved by the manufacturer.
3. Install the instrument properly by following the instructions in the device connection section.
4. Using the product in a 0-35°C environment is recommended.
5. To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not expose the product to rain or moisture.
6. Do not use this product near water. Do not immerge the product into any liquid or have it exposed to dripping or splashing.
7. Do not install or use this product near any heat source (e.g. radiator, heater, stove, or other devices that generate heat).
8. Do not place any object filled with liquids, such as vases on the product; neither should any open fire, such as lighted candles be placed on the product.
9. Do not block any ventilation openings. Do not insert any object into ventilation openings or slots. It may cause fire or electric shock.
10. Keep sufficient clearance around the product to maintain good ventilation (minimum 5cm is recommended).
11. Do not force a plug into the jack. Before connection, check for blockage in the jack and whether the plug matches the jack and is oriented to the right direction.
12. Keep the provided accessories and parts (such as screws) away from children to prevent from being swallowed by mistake.
13. Do not open or remove the housing yourself. It may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazardous risks. Regardless the cause of damage (such as damaged wire or plug, exposure to liquid splash or foreign object falling in, exposure to rain or moisture, product not working or being dropped, etc.), the repair has to be performed by an authorized service professional immediately.
14. Before cleaning the product with dry cloth, always turn off the product and disconnect the power plug first.
15. Never use strong acid, alkali, gasoline, alcohol, or other chemical solvents to clean the product surface. Use only neutral solvent or clear water for cleaning.

Excessively loud music may lead to hearing loss. Please keep the volume in a safe range.

The "Sub Out" port on the rear panel of the active speaker has a detection function. When the port is connected with an external subwoofer, the speaker's own bass will be reduced, and the bass will be mainly output from the subwoofer connected.

Line In Mode

• Press the "volume/input" dial on the side panel of the active speaker to switch to line in 1 mode (green light flashing once) or line in 2 mode (green light flashing twice).
• Respectively press the "LINE1" / "LINE2" button on the remote control to switch to line in 1/line in 2 mode.

Bluetooth Mode

• Press the “volume/input” dial on the side panel of the active speaker, or press the “ ✕” button on the remote control to switch to Bluetooth mode, the blue light will flash.
• Set your Bluetooth device to search and connect to "EDIFIER R1700BTs", the blue light will be steady lit.
• To disconnect Bluetooth, press and hold the "volume/input" dial on the side panel of the active speaker or press and hold the " * " button on the remote control for 2 seconds.

Note:

• To enjoy all Bluetooth functions of this product, please ensure your audio source device has A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) profile.
• Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility may differ amongst different source devices, depending on the software versions of source devices.

Troubleshooting

No sound

• Check if the speaker is ON.
• Try to turn up the volume using either the master volume control or remote control.
• Ensure the audio cables are firmly connected and the input is set correctly on the speakers.
• Check if there is a signal output from the audio source.

Cannot connect via Bluetooth

• Make sure the speaker is switched to Bluetooth input. If it is in other audio input modes, Bluetooth will not connect.
  Disconnect from any Bluetooth device by pressing and holding the “ ✕” button in Bluetooth mode, then try again.
• Effective Bluetooth transmission range is 10 meters; please ensure that operation is within the range.
• Try another Bluetooth device for connection.

The R1700BTs does not turn on

- Check if main power is connected, or if the wall outlet is switched on.

Noise coming from speakers

- EDIFIER speakers generate little noise, while the background noise of some audio devices are too high. Please unplug audio cables and turn the volume up, if no sound can be heard at 1 meter away from the speaker, then there is no problem with this product.
