How to turn the camera on and off?

To turn on the device, press the ON/OFF button located on the housing. To turn off, press and hold the same button or use the configurable auto power-off function in the menu.

How to insert a micro SD card?

Open the rubber cover on the side, then insert the micro SD card into the designated slot. Make sure the device is turned off before inserting or removing the card. No recording is possible without an SD card.

How to charge the battery?

The battery can be charged in two ways: either by connecting the supplied 9 V power supply unit to the device's charging socket, or via the USB-C port directly on the battery pack. During charging, the indicator is red; it turns green when charging is complete.

How to take a photo?

Point the camera head at the desired object. Activate the LED lighting if necessary with the g button. Use the zoom with the f buttons if needed. Briefly press the OK button (h) to take the photo. The file is saved in JPEG format on the SD card.

How to record a video?

Switch to video mode by pressing the i button (image/video switch). Press the OK button (h) to start recording; a REC indicator appears on the screen. Press OK again to stop recording. Videos are saved in MPEG-4 format.

How to use the digital zoom?

In recording mode, use the f buttons (Zoom + and -) to enlarge the image. The digital zoom provides a magnification of 1x to 2x. Press + to zoom in and - to zoom out.

How to set the date and time?

Access the Setting Mode by pressing the e button. Select 'Date/Time' with the arrow keys, then confirm with OK. Use the arrow keys to adjust the values and confirm each field. You can also enable or disable the display of the timestamp on photos.

How to delete files?

From recording mode, press the d button to open the media gallery. Navigate with the arrow keys to select a file. Press the b (Delete) button to delete the file. Confirm the action. Deletion is permanent. You can also format the SD card via the System Settings menu (button e) to erase everything.

Can the camera be used as a webcam?

Yes, the HD MicroCamera can be used as a webcam on a computer. Connect the device via the USB Type-C cable to the computer. The live image will be recognized as a standard webcam, without requiring recording.

What to do if the screen stays black or does not turn on?

First check that the battery is sufficiently charged (connect the charger and wait a few minutes). If the screen remains black, try resetting the device by removing and reinserting the battery. If the problem persists, contact Umarex-Laserliner customer service for repair or replacement.

Completely read through the operating instructions, the „Warranty and Additional Information" booklet as well as the latest information under the internet link at the end of these instructions. Follow the instructions they contain. These documents must be kept in a safe place and passed on together with the device.

Intended use

This professional video inspection system VideoFlex HD combined with an exchangeable camera unit is suitable for easy visual inspection of hard-to-reach places in pipes, cavities, shafts, masonry and motor vehicles. Images and videos can be stored on the SDHC memory card for analysis and documentation.

General safety instructions

• The device must only be used in accordance with its intended purpose and within the scope of the specifications.
• The measuring tools and accessories are not toys. Keep out of reach of children.
• The structure of the device must not be modified in any way.
• Do not expose the device to mechanical stress, extreme temperatures, moisture or significant vibration.
• The device must no longer be used if one or more of its functions fail or the battery charge is weak.
• When using the device outdoors, make sure that the weather conditions are appropriate and/or that suitable protection measures are taken.
• The LCD unit must not be immersed in water. The base unit must not come in contact with liquids.
• It is absolutely vital to ensure that the VideoFlex HD does not come into contact with chemicals, voltage, moving or hot objects. This can damage the device and put its user at risk of serious injury.
• The VideoFlex HD must not be used for medical examinations / examining people.
• Please ensure compliance with the safety regulations set out by local and national authorities with regard to the correct and proper use of the device.
• The unit is not suitable for taking measurements close to dangerous voltages. Therefore always make sure that conductive parts are at zero potential when carrying out measurements in the vicinity of electrical systems. Safe isolation from the power supply and precautions to prevent systems being switched on again must be ensured by implementing suitable measures.
• Make sure there are no conductive objects in the vicinity of the battery contacts. Short-circuiting of these contacts can cause burn injuries or fire.
• Do not open the rechargeable battery. This could cause short-circuits.

1 Connection for flex cable

3 Inserting micro-SD card

To insert a micro-SD card, first open the rubber cover and then insert the memory card as illustrated. You cannot record anything without a storage medium.

The device must be switched off before removing the micro-SD.

4 Using the power supply / lithium-ion rechargeable battery

- The rechargeable battery can be charged using the 9V power supply provided or externally using the battery's integral USB-C socket and a standard USB-C power supply.

- Use the power supply/charger unit only in closed rooms; do not expose to moisture or rain otherwise risk of electric shock.

- Charge the device's battery completely prior to use.

- Connect the power pack/charger to the mains power supply and the socket in the battery pack. Please only use the power pack/charger supplied. Using any other power pack/charger will invalidate the warranty.

- The LED lights up red while the device is charging.

The LED changes to green when charging is complete.

- The LED lights up red while the rechargeable battery is charging. The LED turns off when charging is complete.

Line up the camera head on the flex cable and move it to the required position. If lighting conditions are poor, switch on the LED lighting. Zoom in on distant or small objects. The manual image rotation function enables the image to be rotated by 180^ on the monitor. Briefly press the OK button to take a still image or make a video recording and save it to the SD card. Press the button again to stop recording.

Press the „d“ button to call up the media gallery. Confirm with „OK“ to show the selected image or video in full screen mode. Use the arrow keys to navigate in the media gallery and full screen mode. Press the „a“ button to exit playback mode.

Images can be deleted from the image itself and in the gallery. Deleting cannot be undone. All files and folders can be deleted by reformatting the data medium. Refer to „7.4 System settings“.

USB data transfer

Data saved on the SD card can be transferred to PC either with a suitable card reader or directly via the USB port. Please refer to the manual supplied with your card reader for information about connecting your card adapter or card reader to a PC.

Webcam function

The camera can be used as a webcam with a computer via the USB-C interface.

Information on maintenance and care

Clean all components with a damp cloth and do not use cleaning agents, scouring agents and solvents. Remove the battery(ies) before storing for longer periods. Store the device in a clean and dry place.
