Frequently Asked Questions - Grand Orchestra SO1200 SONORO

How to connect the Grand Orchestra speaker to an amplifier?
Turn off the amplifier. Connect the left speaker to the left channel and the right speaker to the right channel. Ensure correct polarity: amplifier + terminal to speaker + terminal, amplifier - terminal to speaker - terminal. Do not let bare wires touch each other or the rear panel.
How to install the supplied decoupling spikes?
Unscrew the pre-installed feet and replace them with the decoupling spikes. Always use the spike cups under the spikes to protect the floor. Adjust the height by turning the spikes.
What to do if I get no sound?
Check that the amplifier is on, the source is active, and the volume is set. Ensure that the cables are properly connected to the speaker and amplifier. Test with another working speaker if possible.
How to clean the speaker?
For light soiling, use a soft dry cloth. For heavy soiling, a slightly damp cloth then dry with a soft dry cloth. Never clean the speakers themselves (woofer/tweeter), as this could damage them.
Can I use the speaker without the protective grille?
Yes, the speakers can be used with or without the grille. Gently remove the grille for a different visual experience.
How to reduce bass if the speaker is too close to the wall?
Insert the supplied foam plug into the bass-reflex port, but never push it all the way in. This will attenuate excessive bass.
What is the recommended listening position?
Place the speakers to form an isosceles triangle with your listening position. The tweeter should be at ear height for optimal stereo imaging.
What to do in case of constant humming or buzzing?
This may be due to a grounding issue with the amplifier or a defective cable. Check the grounding and replace the cable if necessary.
What is the warranty period for the Grand Orchestra?
The warranty is 5 years from the date of purchase (1 year in North America and Australia). It covers material and manufacturing defects. Contact customer service for any claims.
How to dispose of the speaker at end of life?
Do not throw it in household waste. Take it to a collection point for recycling electrical and electronic equipment. Check with your local authorities.

3. GETTING STARTED

3.1 UNPACKING GRAND ORCHESTRA

  1. Take the GRAND ORCHESTRA out of the packaging and check whether the GRAND ORCHESTRA or the individual parts exhibit damage. If this is the case, do not use GRAND ORCHESTRA. Should you detect any damage, contact your dealer or sonoro audio GmbH customer support immediately.
  2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete: 1 speaker, 1 speaker mesh, 2 bass plugs, 4 speaker feet (already mounted), 4 speaker spikes, 4 spike pads.
  3. Place the GRAND ORCHESTRA at a suitable and safe location. If you want to put your GRAND ORCHESTRA on a natural wood surface, please make sure that it is suitable. On oiled and waxed surfaces, stains may occur.
  4. Do not touch or push the woofers and tweeter on the front of GRAND ORCHESTRA. This can destroy the speaker.

Placing the speaker with the spikes directly to the floor provides the best acoustical performance but may destroy your floor!

For safety's sake we strongly recommend always putting the spike pads below the spikes when placing the speakers on the floor. A helping hand from a second person is recommended.

text_image Feet

GRAND ORCHESTRA are delivered with adjustable speaker feet. By carefully turning the feet, unevenness of the floor can be compensated to make sure the speaker stands securely.

For better acoustic decoupling from the floor, we recommend using the supplied speaker spikes. Just like the feet, they can be adjusted in height by turning.

To do this, first unscrew the pre-assembled speaker feet and replace them with the spikes.

Please take care of your floor and protect it with the included spike pads if necessary.

3.6 BASS PORT PLUG

If you need to place your speakers too close to the back wall, the bass may be perceived as too strong. In this case, inserting the foam plugs into the bass reflex tubes may improve the sound. Please never push the plugs completely into the bass reflex tubes!
