Ionic technology: produces a stream of negative ions which reduce the drying time significantly and eliminate frizz for a smooth, shiny, healthy looking finish. Equilibrium Heat Distribution (EHD) technology: balances heat to protect hair against burning, and enables drying hair faster. Active Overheating Protection (AOPP) system: ensures the hair dryer will automatically shut down in order to protect against overheating. After about 15 minutes it will be ready for use again.
3. General information
3.1 Reading and storing the user manual
This user manual accompanies this SilkyLocks 2200 W Ionic Hair Dryer (hereafter referred to as the “hair dryer”), and contains important information on setup and handling. Before using the hair dryer, read the user manual carefully. This particularly applies to the safety instructions. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or damage to the hair dryer. The user manual is based on the standards and rules in force in the European Union. When abroad, you must also observe country-specific guidelines and laws.
1. Package contents/device parts
Store the user manual for further use. Make sure to include this user manual when passing the hair dryer on to third parties.
3.2 Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the hair dryer or on the packaging. WARNING! This signal symbol/word designates a hazard with moderate risk, which may result in death or severe injury if not avoided. NOTICE! This signal word warns of possible damage to property. This signal symbol provides you with useful additional information on handling and use. Declaration of Conformity: Products labelled with this symbol meet all applicable provisions of the European Economic Area. The symbol indicates that the product is of CLASS II (double insulated) construction. It does not require a safety connection to electrical earth (ground). Do not use the hair dryer in the vicinity of bathtubs, showers, washbasins or other vessels containing water. Geprüfte Sicherheit The word “GS” stands for tested safety. Products marked with this symbol meet the requirements of the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG).EN
The hair dryer is exclusively designed for drying and styling real human head hair. It is only intended for private use and not suitable for commercial purposes. Only use the hair dryer as described in this user manual. Any other use is considered improper and may result in damage to property or persons. The manufacturer or vendor cannot be held liable for damages or injury incurred through improper or incorrect use.
4.2 Safety instructions
WARNING! RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
- Only connect the hair dryer if the line voltage of the socket corresponds to the data on the rating plate.
- Only connect the hair dryer to an easily accessible socket so that you can quickly disconnect it from the mains supply in the event of a problem.
- Do not use the hair dryer if it is damaged or if the mains cord or plug is defective. If the mains cord of the hair dryer is damaged, the manufacturer or customer service must replace it to avoid risks.8
- Do not open the housing; instead, have a qualified professional perform repairs. Contact the customer service team for this. Liability and warranty claims are waived in the event of repairs performed by the user, improper connection or incorrect operation.
- Only parts that comply with the original device data may be used for repairs. This hair dryer contains electrical and mechanical parts which are essential for providing protection against sources of danger.
- Keep the hair dryer away from water! Do not use the hair dryer near or over water contained in baths, washbasins, sinks etc. When used in a bathroom, unplug the hair dryer after use since the proximity of water presents a risk, even when the hair dryer is switched o.
- Do not immerse the hair dryer or the mains cord in water or other liquids. Do not place the hair dryer such that there is a risk of it falling into a tub or sink.EN
- Never reach to retrieve an electrical device if it has fallen into water. In such a case immediately disconnect the mains plug.
- Always switch the hair dryer o and unplug it when you are not using it, when you intend to clean it, or in the event of a malfunction.
- Never touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands.
- For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
- Do not use the hair dryer with an external timer or separate remote control system.
- Do not use an extension cord with the hair dryer.
- Never insert any objects into the housing.
- Do not pull the mains plug out of the socket by the cord; instead, always pull it out by the plug itself. Never move, pull, or carry the hair dryer by its mains cord
- Keep the hair dryer and mains cord away from open flames and hot surfaces.
- Lay the mains cord so that it does not pose a tripping hazard.
- Do not kink the mains cord or wrap it around the hair dryer. Do not lay the mains cord over sharp edges.
- Never attempt to remove dust or foreign objects from inside the hair dryer using a pointed object.
- The hair dryer is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the hair dryer by a person responsible for their safety. Children must not play with the hair dryer. Cleaning and userEN
maintenance must not be performed by unsupervised children.
- Keep children under the age of eight away from the hair dryer and mains cord.
- Make sure that children do not play with the plastic wrapping. They may get caught in it when playing and suocate. WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
- Never leave the hair dryer unattended while it is plugged in.
- Never block the air inlet or outlet. Keep the air inlet away from long hair or objects that could get sucked in.
- Do not place the hair dryer on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air inlet or outlet may be blocked.
- Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
- Active Overheating Protection (AOPP) system ensures the hair dryer will automatically shut down when the hair dryer12
overheats. Unplug the hair dryer and let it cool down for a few minutes. Before you switch the hair dryer again, check the inlet to make sure it is not blocked by hair, flu, etc.
- Always switch the hair dryer o before putting it down, even if it is only for a moment.
- Do not direct the flow of hot air into eyes or other heat-sensitive body parts.
- Do not touch the hot surfaces of the hair dryer. Always allow the hair dryer and its attachments to cool down before storing or cleaning. NOTICE! RISK OF DAMAGE!
- Place the hair dryer on an easily accessible, level, dry, heat-resistant and suciently stable surface. Do not place the hair dryer on the edge of the surface.
- Ensure that the mains cord does not come into contact with hot parts.
- Never fill the hair dryer with liquid.
- Stop using the hair dryer if its plasticEN
parts exhibit cracks or breaks or are deformed. Only replace damaged parts with corresponding original spare parts.
5. Checking the hair dryer and package

- If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a sharp knife or other pointed object, you may quickly damage the hair dryer. Be very careful when opening it.
1. Take the hair dryer out of the packaging.
2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see Fig. A).
3. Check whether the hair dryer or individual parts are damaged.
If this is the case, do not use the hair dryer. Contact our customer service.
- Clean all parts of the hair dryer before first use as described in the chapter “Cleaning”.
- Before using the hair dryer for the first time, switch it on for a few minutes and set it to the highest speed/temperature. As a result of the manufacturing process, you may notice a slight odour. This is normal and only occurs during first use. Ensure that the room is well ventilated.14
6.1 Switching on/o and adjusting fan/heat

4. After the fan/heat level is selected, press the lock button
to prevent unintended setting changes.

hair dryer at a small distance from the hair. Switch o and unplug the hair dryer after drying.
6.2 Cooling function
For long-lasting styling results, you can press and hold the cool shot button
to get a cool air flow during operation. When you no longer need the cool airflow, release the button.
6.3 Attaching the accessories
onto the hair dryer. Detach it by pulling it o after it has cooled down. The concentrator enables you to direct the airflow onto specific sections of hair for styling with a brush or comb. The diuser emits a gentle airflow to create curls and natural waves in the lengths and tips, as well as add volume at the roots.EN
- Always unplug and let the hair dryer completely cool down before cleaning.
- Never immerse the hair dryer in water or other liquids. Make sure that no water or other liquids penetrate the housing.
- Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal or nylon bristles, or sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as knives, hard scrapers and the like.
7.1 Cleaning the housing and the accessories
Wipe the housing and the attachments with a damp cloth. Allow them to dry completely.
7.2 Cleaning the inlet filter
Open the removable filter
and scrub away hairs and dust on both internal and external side of the filter using a toothbrush. Replace the filter onto the hair dryer.
- All parts must be completely dry before being stored.
- Do not wind the mains cord round the hair dryer.
- You can use the hanging loop
to hang up the hair dryer for storage purposes.16
Some problems may be caused by minor faults that you can fix yourself. To do so, follow the instructions in the following table. If it is still not possible to resolve the problem, contact customer service. Do not repair the hair dryer yourself. Fault Possible cause and solution The hair dryer is not working. The mains plug has not been inserted in the socket. Connect the mains plug with the socket. The hair dryer may have overheated and switched itself o. Unplug the hair dryer and let it cool down for a few minutes. Before switching the hair dryer on again, make sure the air inlet is not blocked by hair or foreign objects.
11.1 Disposing of the packaging
Sort the packaging before you dispose of it. Dispose of paperboard and cardboard with the recycled paper service and wrappings with the appropriate collection service.
11.2 Disposing of the hair dryer
(Applicable in the European Union and other European countries with separate collection systems of recyclable materials) Old appliances may not be disposed of in the household waste! Should the hair dryer no longer be capable of being used at some point in time, dispose of it in accordance with the regulations in force in your city or county. This ensures that old appliances are recycled in a professional manner and also rules out negative consequences for the environment. For this reason, electrical equipment is marked with the symbol shown here.18
