2) Connecting the TrekStor i.Beat cebrax to a PC

Note for users of Windows® 98: First download the driver from our homepage at http://www.trekstor.de. Then install the driver before connecting the i.Beat cebrax to your PC.

Connect the i.Beat cebrax to a USB port of your PC. Your operating system will immediately recognize the i.Beat cebrax and will add a "DEVICE WITH REMOVABLE STORAGE" under "MY COMPUTER".

3) Exchanging data with the TrekStor i.Beat cebrax

a) Select the desired files (such as MP3) with the mouse. Copy these files by clicking them with your right mouse button and then selecting "Copy".

b) Under "My COMPUTER", select the device with removable storage, "TREKSTOR I.BEAT CEBRAX".

c) Click it with your right mouse button, and select "PAGE" to start copying. After copying is over, the data will be available on the i.Beat cebrax.

4) Logging off the TrekStor i.Beat cebrax and disconnecting from the PC

Windows® 98 (SE) Look for i.Beat cebrax under "DEVICE MANAGER" (under "DRIVES"), and click the device with the left mouse button. Select the menu item "REMOVE". You can now disconnect the i.Beat cebrax from the PC.

Windows® 2000/ME/XP At the bottom right on the task bar, click your right mouse button on the symbol "SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE". 5) Using the TrekStor i.Beat cebrax

Turning the device on and off

Turn on the i.Beat cebrax by briefly pressing the ▶▶ button. To turn off the i.Beat cebrax, hold the ▶▶ button for approximately 3 seconds.

Note: Make sure that the ☐ switch has been moved to the left, i.e., that the button lock is turned off. If the button lock is activated, the button lock symbol or a corresponding message will appear.

Different modes

The i.Beat cebrax has different modes. To go to a mode, hold the M button for approximately 1 second. Push the joystick to the left ◀ or right ▶ to select the desired mode, and confirm by pressing the M button again. Leave the menu by pressing the ▶ button.

Mode: Music

Switch to "Muc" mode.

- Playback

Briefly press the ▶ button to start playing an audio file.

- Pause

Briefly press the ▶II button to stop playing the file. Repress the ▶II button to continue playing the file.

- Stop

Press the ▶▶ button for approximately 1 second to stop playing the file. Repress the ▶▶ button to start playing the beginning of the song.

- Change title

Push the joystick to the right ▶ to select the next song. If you push the joystick to the left ◀ within 5 seconds after a playback starts, you switch to the prior title. If you push the joystick to the left ◀ after a playback starts and after at least 5 seconds, the i.Beat cebrax returns to the beginning of the current title.

- Rewind / fast-forward within a song

You can navigate within a song by continuing to press the joystick in one direction or the other. Hold the joystick to the right ▶ or left ◀ to fast-forward or rewind.

Note: The longer you hold the joystick in one direction, the faster the device will go forward or rewind.

• Volume increase / volume decrease

Briefly press the joystick up + or down - to increase or decrease the volume.

Note: If you keep holding the joystick up ☐ or down ☐, the volume changes gradually.

Special feature for the playback of Audible files

When listening to Audible audio books (file extension *.aa), you can jump forward and backward to individual chapters if you change into the chapter mode by briefly pressing the A-B-button.

Note: If the chapter mode is active, the ➞ symbol is displayed on your i.Beat cebrax.

You can jump to the following or preceding chapter of the current Audible audio book by moving the joystick to the right ▶ or to the left ◀. If you want to leave the chapter mode, you have to briefly press the A-B button once again.

Folder navigation

You get to folder navigation in "M" mode by briefly pressing the M button. By pressing the joystick to the right ▶ or left ◀ you mark the next or previous file.

To play the selected file, press the Ⓜ button.

To change to a subfolder, press the M button briefly if the folder is marked. To return to the main directory, press the ▶II button. To leave folder navigation, press the ▶II button when you are in the main directory.

- Deleting a file using folder navigation

Select the file you want to delete using folder navigation, and briefly press the A-B button. To confirm that you want to delete the file, switch to "Y B" by pressing the joystick to the left or right, and then press the M button.

Mode: FM Radio (optional)

Switch to "FM RAD" mode.

Note: Always connect your earphones to the i.Beat cebrax ^FM since the earphone cable serves as an antenna for the internal radio.

Briefly press the M button to open a menu. You can now start the automatic station search, save stations and delete them. To leave FM radio mode, hold the M button for about 1 second, and the main menu will appear.

To start the automatic station search, switch in the menu to "A UTO SCAN", and confirm by pressing the M button. The i.Beat cebrax FM now automatically searches for the radio stations with the strongest reception and saves them in 20 memory locations.

- Switching between manual station selection and memory mode

Briefly press the ▶ button to switch between manual station selection "M AU" and memory mode "S TATON".

• Switching between saved stations

In "S TATION" mode, you can switch between available presets by briefly pressing the joystick to the left ◀ or to the right ▶.

In "M ANUAL" mode, briefly push the joystick to the left ◀ or right ▶ to change the reception frequency by 0.1 MHz. Hold down the joystick to the left ◀ or right ▶ for the i.Beat cebrax FM to automatically scan the upper and lower frequencies for stations with the strongest reception.

• Saving individual stations

Change to manual station selection "M ANUAL". Choose the desired frequency, and select "SAVE STATION" from the menu. Select a memory by moving the joystick to the left ◀ or right ▶ and press the M button to save the station.

- Deleting saved stations

Select "D ELETE STATION" from the menu. Then select a saved station by moving the joystick to the left ◀ or right ▶ and confirm the deletion by pressing the M button.

- Recording FM radio

Briefly press the A-B button to start recording the radio. Briefly press the A-B button again to stop recording.

Note: All radio recordings are saved in the "FM" folder of the i.Beat cebrax ^FM .

Mode: Voice recording

Switch to "V∅" mode.

You can record your voice using the integrated microphone. Briefly press the A-B button to start voice recording. Briefly press the A-B button again to stop recording.

Note: All voice recordings are saved in the "VOICE" folder of the i.Beat cebrax.

Switch to the "SETTINGS" mode.

This mode allows you to set the equalizer, the different playback functions, the duration of the display, the contrast, the energy-saving mode and the sleep timer.

Push the joystick to the left ◀ or the right ▶ to select the desired setting, and confirm by pressing the Ⓜ button.

Mode: System

Switch to the "System" mode.

In this mode, you can display the current firmware version, the entire memory and free memory of the i.Beat cebrax. You can also set or load the language and the default settings.

Note:

  • This MP3 player is optimized for the provided earphones (32 Ohm impedance). Using other earphones with a lower impedance can damage the MP3 player or earphone, especially MP3 players with 2 earphone jacks.
  • Note: This device can produce high volumes. To prevent hearing loss, do not listen to high volumes for long periods. If you notice a ringing noise in your ears, lower the volume immediately or stop using the MP3 player. Please keep in mind that using earphones or headphones at loud volumes may result in permanent hearing loss. While you become accustomed to higher volumes over time, so that they may seem normal to you, your sense of hearing can still be impaired.
