How to clean the heating plates?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Wipe off splashes with a damp cloth. Use a suitable cleaning product for regular maintenance. Never immerse the appliance in water.

Why does the plate not heat up?

Check that the appliance is plugged in and the thermostat is set to a position other than MIN. If the indicator light is off, the plate may have reached the temperature; otherwise, contact customer service.

What to do if the indicator light stays on permanently?

This is normal: the light stays on as long as the plate is heating. It turns off when the selected temperature is reached. If it stays on permanently without heating, the appliance may be defective.

Can I use glass pans?

It is recommended to use pans with a flat bottom, specifically designed for electric plates. Glass pans can be used if their bottom is perfectly flat and suitable.

What is the maximum power of the appliance?

The total power is estimated at 2000 W, with thermostat settings ranging from MIN (keep warm) to MAX (fast preheating and roasting).

How to set the temperature for simmering?

Set the thermostat to position 3-4 for gentle simmering. For keeping warm, use position 1-2.

Is the appliance suitable for elderly or people with reduced mobility?

Yes, the appliance can be used by persons lacking experience if they have been trained and supervised. Ensure the cord does not pose a tripping hazard.

Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations.

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label. This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to our customer service department (see appendix).

This appliance must only be used indoors. It must be kept away from rain and

moisture.

It must not be stored in any areas where there is likely to be relatively high humidity (e.g. cellars, attics, garden sheds).

Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.

This appliance must never be immersed in water or any other liquids.

Clean the cooking surfaces with a damp cloth after each use. For detailed information on cleaning the appliance, please refer to the section General care and cleaning.

The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. • Do not take the power plug out of the socket by pulling on the power cord, but hold the power plug to take it out.
  Before handling the mains plug, always ensure that your hands are always dry.
  The power cord must not be bent, pinched, run over or allowed to come into contact with heat sources or sharp edges. It must also be positioned in such a way as to not be a tripping hazard.

• Never use the power cord to carry or move the appliance.
• Never leave the power cord dangling downwards.
• Do not allow the power cord to touch any hot parts of the appliance.

Start up

Before using the appliance for the first time, let it heat up for approximately 3 minutes at maximum power (but without using a pot or saucepan), while ensuring sufficient ventilation. During this process, a slight smell and a little smoke may be emitted. This is normal and will only last for a very short time. Ensure adequate ventilation by opening windows or balcony doors. Clean the appliance afterwards as described in section General care and cleaning) below.

Operation

Always place a pot / saucepan on the hot-plate before the appliance is switched on.
- Ensure that the pot is clean and dry on the outside. Do not use stain covered pots / saucepans.
- To prevent damage to the hot-plate, only use pots / saucepans with flat bottoms. Most suitable are pots specifically designed for use on electric plates (see picture I).
Always make sure that the pot / saucepan used is of at least the same diameter as the plate; this minimises the loss of heat and prevents the plate from being damaged as a result of uneven heat distribution.

Thermostat setting

MAX: Pre-cooking and quick frying

Set the thermostat knob to the MIN position after use. Remove the plug from the wall socket afterwards to ensure that the appliance is completely disconnected from the mains.

Indicator light

The indicator light stays on while the hot-plate is heating up. It goes out once the pre-set temperature has been reached.

General care and cleaning

Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
- Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
After use, a wet cloth may be used to remove any spills from the plates.
A special cleaning agent should be used to treat the plate from time to time.
