Frequently Asked Questions - Hurricane 1200 Chauvet

How to install the Hurricane 1200 fog machine?
Install the machine on a flat and stable surface. Mount it using the mounting bracket and a compatible clamp (e.g., Chauvet CLP-15). Use a safety cable to prevent falls. Ensure that the ventilation slots are not blocked and maintain a distance of at least 50 cm from adjacent surfaces. Plug into a protected and grounded outlet.
What type of fluid should I use with the Hurricane 1200?
Use only water-based fog fluid from Chauvet®. Using other fluids may damage the pump and heater.
How to clean the Hurricane 1200 machine?
Regularly clean the machine with Chauvet's FCQ (Fog Cleaner Quart) solution. Perform this cleaning at least every 90 days to extend the lifespan of the device. Empty the tank before cleaning or transport.
What to do if the machine is not producing fog?
First, check that the tank has enough fluid. If the LED flashes red or blue, refill the tank. Ensure the machine is in preheat mode (solid red LED). Wait until the LED turns solid blue to indicate it is ready. If the problem persists, check the fuse and replace it if necessary.
Can I use the Hurricane 1200 with a dimmer?
No, never connect this device to a dimmer or rheostat. This could damage the device and void the warranty.
How to use the FC-T wired remote?
The FC-T remote allows you to program fog generation intervals. Use the rotary knobs to adjust output, duration, and interval. Manual mode triggers continuous fog as long as the button is held. Continuous mode produces continuous fog (recommended max setting: 11). The LEDs indicate the device status.
Is the Hurricane 1200 suitable for permanent installation?
No, this device is not designed for permanent installation. It is intended for temporary use and should be placed on a flat and stable surface.
What is the maximum operating temperature?
The maximum ambient temperature is 40 °C (104 °F). Do not operate the device at higher temperatures to avoid overheating.
How to replace the fuse on the Hurricane 1200?
Unplug the device. Turn the fuse holder cap counterclockwise to remove it. Replace the blown fuse with a fuse of the same type and rating. Replace the fuse holder and plug back in.
What to do if the machine triggers smoke detectors?
If multiple fog machines are operating simultaneously, they may trigger smoke detectors. Reduce the number of machines in operation or decrease fog output. Ensure the room is well-ventilated.
