ACCIDENTS FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN! Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging materials. It poses a danger of suffocation. Keep children away from the product. DANGER TO LIFE! Batteries are not intended for children. Do not leave batteries lying around. There is a danger that these will be swallowed by children or pets. If they are accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention. This device may be used by children aged 8 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience and/or knowledge, so long as they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the device and understand the associated risks. Do not allow children to play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision. Do not use the product if you notice any signs of damage. FIRE HAZARD! Do not short-circuit the batteries. The battery may overheat, ignite or explode. EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never throw batteries into fire or water. Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries! The batteries may explode. Leaking or damaged batteries may result in chemical burns upon contact with the skin; always wear suitable safety gloves. Remove drained batteries from the device. Very old or used batteries may leak. The chemicals inside may damage the product. Remove the batteries from the device if it will not be used for a prolonged period. Always use batteries of the same type (see section “Technical data“). Regularly check the batteries for signs of leaking. Do not exert mechanical loads on the product! In the event of damage, repairs or other problems with the light, please contact an electrician. Do not use old and new batteries together. CAUTION! RISK OF OVERHEATING! Do not operate the product whilst it is still in the packaging.20 GB/IE Store the product in the original packaging after use to prevent acci- dental damage. This product does not contain any parts that can be serviced by the user. The LEDs are not replaceable. The light‘s illuminant is not replaceable. The entire light needs to be re- placed if the illuminant reaches the end of its service life. Never electrically connect the product to other string lights. Never connect the product directly to a 230 V supply. The battery compartment is protected against foreign matter and spray water according to IP44. Never allow the battery compartment to be exposed to rain or direct jets of water. Set-up Installing LED light sticks in the ground WEAR SAFETY GLOVES! Wear safety gloves when in- stalling the LED light sticks

if the ground is frozen. Push the ground stakes

far enough into the ground (lawn, flower bed) so that they are firm in the ground. Make sure they are firmly positioned. Do not use excessive force, e.g. strike with a hammer, when you are pushing the ground stakes

into the ground. This will damage the product. STUMBLING HAZARD! Ensure that the supply lead is laid in such a way that no one can walk on or stumble over it. RISK OF INJURY! Make sure that when the LED light sticks

are removed, the ground stakes

are also removed, so that they cannot pose any risk (e.g. stumbling over them). Inserting/replacing batteries Open the battery compartment

by loosening the latches and open it (see Fig. B). Insert batteries or replace the old batteries with new ones. Please note the polarity when inserting the battery. This is indicated in the battery compartment

. Only use batteries of the recommended type (see “Technical data“). Close the battery compartment

by snapping it shut and snap in the latches again. Pay attention to the sealing ring when doing this, as otherwise IP protection cannot be guaranteed. Switching the LED light sticks on/off Press the TIMER/ON/OFF button

Cleaning and care Do not clean the light with water or other liquids. Clean the light regularly with a dry, fluff-free cloth. Use a moist cloth if very dirty. Disposal The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste sep- aration, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics/20–22: paper and fi- breboard/80–98: composite materials. Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product. To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority. Batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries/rechargeable batteries at a local collection point. Warranty and service Note: This product includes a 36 month warranty from the date of purchase. The product has been produced to the highest standards and thoroughly checked before dispatch. However, if defects in manufacturing or material arise during the warranty period, please contact your retailer immediately. The warranty does not cover damages due to improper handling, failure to comply with the operating instructions, or manipulation by unauthorised persons.
