If food packaging gives cooking instructions based on IEC Power ratings, set cooking times according to the IEC Power of your oven. For example : If the cooking instructions are based on a 650 W oven, then you will need to reduce some cooking time for t he 850 W Ready meals are now very convenient and popular. These are meals which are already prepared and cooked by the food manufacturer, and then frozen, chilled or vacuum sealed for long life. Increasingly, heating times for such ready meals are being based on the Heating Categories A, B, C, D and E. On this instance, simply match the heating category of your oven to the instructions on the food package, and set your timer accordingly. For example : If the heating instructions are 3 minutes on HIGH for a D category oven, then you will need to set your timer for less than 3 minutes on HIGH for the GK640-E (E category). Always remember that cooking instructions are intended only as a guide. If you have followed the instructions and the food is still not piping hot throughout, simply return it to the oven and cook it until it is. CARE OF YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN
Cleaning the Microwave Oven
1. Unplug the oven from the electrical socket before cleaning.
2. Clean the inside of the oven. Wipe up all spills with a damp cloth. Kitchen
detergent solution may be used if the oven gets too dirty. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasives.
3. Clean the outside of the oven with soap and water, then dry with a soft cloth.
4. When you clean the window of the door, be sure to use a soft cloth after washing
with very mild soap and water. Do not use window cleaner as the front door can be scratched by harsh soap or cleaners. If food remnant or spilled liquids stick to the oven walls, or between door seal and door surface, they will absorb microwaves possibly resulting in arcing or sparks. Make sure that water does not get into the back ventilation or control panel opening. CAUTION GK640-E_GK641-E_XEU_DE68-04279B-01_EN.indd 21 2014-06-27 6:49:54English - 22
CLEANING THE CEILING COVER
1. Hold side stoppers of ceiling cover with both hands and pull them in and down.
Then take the ceiling cover out of the oven cavity.
2. Rinse ceiling cover in soapy water or Food Sanitizer Solution.
3. Be sure to replace the ceiling cover before using the oven.
Ceiling cover must be in place securely when you use the oven. When you removed the Ceiling Cover for the purpose of cleaning, be sure to be extremely careful about the exposed inside components on the top of the oven cavity. If any of them are deformed, abnormal symptom can happen such as arcing or sparks during operation. In case of such problem, contact the nearest after-sales service centre. Ceiling Cover
CLEANING THE AIR FILTER
Clean the Air Filter regularly according to the following instructions. The oven may have problems when the Air Filter becomes clogged with dust. Bolt
1. Remove the bolt at both ends of the Air Filter.
2. Lift the Air Filter o the post carefully.
3. Wash this filter in warm soapy water.
4. Be sure to replace the Air Filter before using the oven.
If the Air Filter becomes clogged with debris, this will cause an overheating problem on the oven. If the want to change the air filter clean time, refer to “Programming Air Filter Clean Time” in page 20. CAUTION
1. Disconnect the power cord from the wall socket before attempting installation.
2. For stacking installation, you must use the “bracket plate” which is enclosed with
3. The maximum stacking height is two units.
Stacking the two units is limited to the following models. Be sure the oven cavity is empty. Installation
1. Stack two units together.
2. Remove 6 screws as shown in the figure.
3. Place the Bracket-plate to join the two units.
4. Attach and tighten 6 screws as shown in the figure here.
5. Ensure the top oven is at a safe and workable height.
1. Remove a screw securing the lamp cover.
2. Remove the lamp by rotating it clockwise.
3. Replace with a new lamp by rotating it counter-clockwise.
You don’t need to remove outer panel to replace lamp. Lamp Holder Lamp (230 V 25 W) Outer Panel Lamp Cover cookware guide To cook food in the microwave oven, the microwaves must be able to penetrate the food, without being reflected or absorbed by the dish used. Care must therefore be taken when choosing the cookware. If the cookware is marked microwave-safe, you do not need to worry. The following table lists various types of cookware and indicates whether and how they should be used in a microwave oven. Cookware Microwave- safe Comments Aluminum foil
Can be used in small quantities to protect areas against overcooking. Arcing can occur if the foil is too close to the oven wall or if too much foil is used. China and earthenware
Porcelain, pottery, glazed earthenware and bone china are usually suitable, unless deco- rated with a metal trim. Disposable polyester cardboard dishes
Some frozen foods are packaged in these dishes. Fast-food packaging
Can be used to warm food. Overheating may cause the polystyrene to melt.
Paper bags or newspaper
Recycled paper or metal trims
May cause arcing. Glassware
Can be used, unless decorated with a metal trim.
Can be used to warm foods or liquids. Delicate glass may break or crack if heated suddenly.
May cause arcing or fire.
Freezer bag twist ties
Plates, cups, napkins and Kitchen paper
For short cooking times and warming. Also to absorb excess moisture.
May cause arcing. Plastic
Particularly if heat-resistant thermoplastic. Some other plastics may warp or discolour at high temperatures. Do not use Melamine plastic.
Can be used to retain moisture. Should not touch the food. Take care when removing the film as hot steam will escape.
Only if boilable or oven-proof. Should not be airtight. Prick with a fork, if necessary. Wax or grease- proof paper
Can be used to retain moisture and prevent spattering.
Air flow around the door and outer casing.
Light reflection around the door and outer casing.
Steam escaping from around the door or vents. The oven does not start when you press the START/+20s button.
Is the door completely closed? The food is not cooked at all.
Have you set the timer correctly and/or pressed the START/+20s button?
Have you overloaded the electric circuit and caused a fuse to blow or a breaker to be triggered? The food is either overcooked or undercooked.
Was the appropriate cooking length set for the type of food?
Was an appropriate power level chosen? The light bulb is not working.
The Light bulb should not be replaced in person for safety reasons. Please contact nearest authorised Bualo customer care, to arrange for a qualified engineer to replace the bulb. The oven causes interference with radios or televisions.
Slight interference may be observed on televisions or radios when the oven is operating. This is normal. To solve this problem, install the oven away from televisions, radios and aerials.
If interference is detected by the oven’s microprocessor, the display may be reset. To solve this problem, disconnect the power plug and reconnect it. Reset the time. Plug the power cord again. If the symptom persists, contact the nearest service centre. Temperature of exhaust air too High Error E3 One long beep for 2 sec. The oven cavity gets too hot due to excessive operation with no load or small load, or due to some blocking materials around the Air Filter or Air Exhaust at the back of the oven. Remedy Open the oven door and check if 1) the oven has been operating with no load or too small load, 2) the air filter is placed in a wrong position, or 3) any blocking materials exist around the Air Exhaust. Cool down the oven (for approx. 30 min) under the normal temperature. The oven is back to normal when the error code “E3” disappears and “ON” appears again in the display window. Unplug the power cord, remove the blocking materials around the ventilation openings, cool down the oven (for approx. 30 min) suciently, plug the power cord in again and check if the error code appears again. If the symptom persists even when the oven is cooled down suciently, contact the nearest service centre. Sparking and cracking occur inside the oven (arcing).
Have you used a dish with metal trimmings?
Is aluminum foil too close to the inside walls? Smoke and bad smell when initial operating.
It’s a temporary condition by new component heating. Smoke and smell will disappear completely after 10 minutes operation. To remove smell more quickly, please operate microwave oven with putting lemon formation or lemon juice in the cabinet.
