m WARNING Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustra- tions and technical data provided with this power tool. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, re and/or serious injury. Keep all the safety advice and instructions in a safe place for future reference! The term “electrical tool” used in the safety advice refers to electrical tools powered by mains electric- ity (by means of a mains lead) and electrical tools powered by rechargeable batteries (without a mains lead).

a) Keep your working area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in explosive at- mospheres, such as in the presence of am- mable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools cre- ate sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. c) Keep children and bystanders away while op- erating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2) Electrical safety

a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body contact with earthed or ground- ed surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded. c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet con- ditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the pow- er tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. • Only use the power tool for dry sanding. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of elec- tric shock.
  • Ensure that no persons are at risk due to ying sparks. Remove combustible materials from the surrounding area. Flying sparks are created when sanding metals.
  • Warning: Danger of re! Avoid overheating the workpiece and the sander. Always empty the dust collector before taking a break from work. Sanding dust in the dust bag, microlter, paper bag (or in the lter bag or vacuum cleaner lter) can spontaneously combust under certain conditions, for example if ying sparks are created when sand- ing metals. This risk is increased if the sanding dust is mixed with paint or polyurethane residue or with other chemical substances and if the workpiece is hot as a result of prolonged work.
  • Clean the air vents on your power tool regu- larly. The motor’s fan will draw the dust inside the housing and excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause electrical hazards.
  • Hold the power tool rmly with both hands and make sure you have a stable footing. The power tool can be more securely guided with both hands.
  • Always wait until the power tool has come to a complete stop before placing it down.
  • Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more secure than by hand.
