How to set the clock on the machine?

Plug in the machine: the screen displays 12:00 blinking. Use the h and min buttons to set the hour and minutes. A PM indicator lights up if the time is afternoon. The clock retains its settings as long as the machine remains plugged in.

How to descale the machine?

Use a descaling solution specifically for coffee makers. Follow the product instructions. Generally, fill the tank with the descaling solution, run a cycle without coffee, then rinse with clean water for several cycles. Regular descaling prolongs the life of the appliance.

Does the machine display an incorrect time after a power outage?

The clock resets to 12:00 after a power outage. You must reprogram it by pressing the h and min buttons. Memory is only retained if the machine remains plugged in.

Can I open the lid during brewing?

No, do not open the lid during brewing due to the risk of burns from steam or splashes. Wait until the cycle ends.

What to do if the machine does not turn on?

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

Fill the reservoir to the max mark, and run the appliance without coffee.

FILLING

1. Remove the carafe from the hotplate.
2. Use the grip to open the lid, and expose the reservoir.
3. Fill the reservoir with the exact amount of water required.
4. Open up a #4 paper filter, and put it into the filter holder.
5. Put 1 scoop of filter-ground coffee into the filter for each cup.
6. Close the lid.
7. Replace the carafe on the hotplate.

SET THE CLOCK

1. Put the plug into the power socket.
2. 12:00 will blink on the display.

3. Set the clock to the correct time.

4. Use the h and min buttons to set the correct hour and minute.

A small dot in the display indicates PM.

The clock will retain its settings until the coffee maker is unplugged.

MAKING COFFEE

CAUTION: DO NOT open the lid during brewing as there is the potential risk of scalding.

1. Press the button. The brewing light will come on.
2. Shortly afterwards, coffee will start to drip into the carafe.
3. When it's done, the hotplate will keep the carafe warm. After 40 minutes, the hotplate will shut down.
4. If you want to stop the coffee maker while it's brewing, press the button.

COFFEE LATER

1. Set the timer to the time you want to start brewing.

2. Press the () button.

3. Use the h and min buttons to set the correct hour and minute.

4. If you don't press either the h or min buttons within 5 seconds, the coffee maker will revert to "normal", and the time will show. You'll have to press the button, and start again.

5. Press the AUTO button until the auto light stops flashing and stays on.

6. At the time you set, the brewing light will come on and the coffee maker will start up.
7. To cancel the timer before brewing has started, press the AUTO button again.
8. If you forget what time you've set it to, press the ① button.

A QUICK CUP

You can remove the carafe at any time. To prevent the filter holder overflowing, replace the carafe on the hotplate within about 20 seconds.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
2. Tip the contents of the filter holder into the bin.
3. Clean the outside surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth.
4. Press the lever at the rear of the carafe lid, above the handle, to open the carafe lid.

5. Hand wash the carafe and filter holder.

6. With the filter oriented as shown in FIG A, lower it into the coffee maker. The lid will not close unless the filter holder is correctly fitted.

7. Close the lid, and press down to lock it.

DESCALE REGULARLY

Descale the appliance at least monthly with a proprietary descaler. Follow the instructions on the package of descaler.

Products returned under guarantee with faults due to scale will be subject to a repair charge.
