How do I connect my phone via Bluetooth to the Vonyx STM3400 mixer?

Turn on the mixer, then press the MODE button until BT mode is selected (the BT indicator lights up). On your phone, enable Bluetooth and search for 'STM3400'. Select it to establish the connection. The range is approximately 10 meters without obstacles.

How do I use the Scratch effect with the Jog Wheel?

Turn the effect selector to position 6 (SCRATCH). Then use the Jog Wheel to produce scratching sounds. You can control the intensity by turning the wheel quickly or slowly.

What power adapter should I use for the Vonyx STM3400?

Use only the included power adapter (12 V DC). First connect the cord to the mixer, then to the mains socket 220-240 V AC / 50 Hz. Never use a dimmer or adjustable power supply.

How do I adjust the volume of channels 1 and 2?

Use the faders on the front panel (references 11 and 12 in the manual). Push up to increase volume, down to decrease. The master output level is shown on the LED VU meter.

Can I connect a microphone and a guitar at the same time?

Yes, the mixer has a 6.3 mm microphone input (reference 6 on the back) and two RCA line inputs (reference 5) for CD/MP3 players or guitar. The microphone volume is adjusted with the dedicated control (reference 15).

How do I use the Talkover function?

Press the TALKOVER button (reference 10). The input channel levels (music) will automatically be reduced when you speak into the microphone. Release the button to return to normal volume.

What should I do if the mixer does not turn on?

Check that the power adapter is properly connected and the wall outlet is working. Make sure the power switch on the back is set to ON. If the problem persists, contact a certified technician.

How do I perform a crossfade between two sources?

Use the crossfader (reference 16). Moving it to the left makes channel 1 active; to the right, channel 2. The center position blends both channels. Adjust the faders of each channel to balance levels.

How do I clean the mixer?

Turn off and unplug the device. Use a soft dry cloth to wipe the surface. Never use chemicals, aerosols, or liquids. Avoid moisture entering the openings.

Can I use the mixer outdoors?

Congratulations to the purchase of this Vonyx product. Please read this manual thoroughly prior to using the product in order to benefit fully from all features.

Read the manual prior to using the product. Follow the instructions in order not to invalidate the warranty. Take all precautions to avoid fire and/or electrical shock. Repairs must only be carried out by a qualified technician in order to avoid electrical shock. Keep the manual for future reference.

• Prior to using the product, please ask advice from a specialist. When the product is switched on for the first time, some smell may occur. This is normal and will disappear after a while.
• The product contains voltage carrying parts. Therefore do NOT open the housing.
• Do not place metal objects or pour liquids into the product. This may cause electrical shock and malfunction.
• Do not place the product near heat sources such as radiators, etc. Do not place the product on a vibrating surface. Do not cover the ventilation holes.
• The product is not suitable for continuous use.
• Be careful with the mains lead and do not damage it. A faulty or damaged mains lead can cause electrical shock and malfunction.
• When unplugging the product from a mains outlet, always pull the plug, never the lead.
• Do not plug or unplug the product with wet hands.
• If the plug and/or the mains lead are damaged, they need to be replaced by a qualified technician.
• If the product is damaged to such an extent that internal parts are visible, do NOT plug the product into a mains outlet and DO NOT switch the unit on. Contact your dealer. Do NOT connect the product to a rheostat or dimmer.
• To avoid fire and shock hazard, do not expose the product to rain and moisture.

UNPACKING INSTRUCTION

CAUTION! Immediately upon receiving the product, carefully unpack the carton, check the contents to ensure that all parts are present, and have been received in good condition. Notify the shipper immediately and retain packing material for inspection if any parts appear damage from shipping or the package itself shows signs of mishandling. Save the package and all packing materials. In the event that the product must be returned to the factory, it is important that the product be returned in the original factory box and packing.

If the device has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuation (e.g. after transportation), do not switch it on immediately. The arising condensation water might damage your device. Leave the device switched off until it has reached room temperature.

FRONT PANEL

1. SD CARD SLOT: Insert an SD card in this slot.
2. DISPLAY: The display shows multiple forms of information, for example current MODE, elapsed time, etc.
3. BT LED LIGHT: When BT mode is enabled, this LED will light up.
4. USB PORT: You can play media files from a USB device by connecting the device to this slot.
5. BUTTON CLUSTER:

MODE BUTTON - Press to change modes between playing SD, USB, MP3 and BT.

PLAY / PAUSE - Press this button to start or pause play.

FOLDER - Press this button to enter FOLDER selection.

REPEAT MODE - Press the repeat button once to continually repeat ALL tracks, press repeat once more to repeat just the current track.

PREVIOUS - Press this button to go to the previous track. Press and hold to scan backwards within tracks.

NEXT - Press this button to go to the next track. Press and hold to scan forwards within tracks.

1. INPUT SELECTOR: There are 2 different input positions: line and USB.
2. MICROPHONE TALKOVER: This function allows you to lower the level of the input channel(s) when talking trough a microphone.
3. CHANNEL 1 AND 2 FADERS: Adjust the volume of channel 1 & 2.
4. VU-METER (OUTPUT): The LED display shows the level of the left and right master output.
5. CUE: Allows you to monitor the music through the headphones for the selected channel.
6. MICROPHONE LEVEL CONTROL: Adjust the volume of the microphone signal.
7. CROSSFADER: Use to fade between channels 1 & 2.
8. HEADPHONES LEVEL CONTROL: Adjust the volume of the headphones signal.
9. TIME: When activated, you can use the jog wheel to adjust the value of the X parameter (time) of the effect generator.
10. RATIO: When activated, you can use the jog wheel to adjust the value of the Y parameter (mix ratio, resonance or feedback) of the effect generator.
11. BYPASS: Press to choose or cancel DJ effects. When choosing effects, "DJ" will be displayed. When effects are canceled, "BYPASS" will be displayed.
12. EFFECT DISPLAY: The display shows multiple forms of information, for example current effect, ratio, bypass etc.
13. EFFECT SELECTOR: You can change between 16 DJ effects: Flanger, Flanger Verb, Phaser, Robot Flanger, Pitch, Scratch, Analog Delay, Trans, PhaseWah, Filter, AutoWah, SmallHall, Thinplate, Plate, LPF Reverb, Gated Reverb.
14. JOG WHEEL: The jog wheel has 2 functions:

In SCRATCH mode

Select the "SCRATCH" DJ effect (no. 6) with the effect selector to activate scratch mode. Now use the jog wheel to produce scratch sounds.

In PARAMETER mode

TIME BUTTON (X parameter) – When the time function is activated, you can use the jog wheel to adjust the value of the X parameter (time) of the effect generators.

RATIO BUTTON (Y parameter) – When the ratio function is activated, you can use the jog wheel to adjust the value of the Y parameter (mix ratio, resonance or feedback) of the effect generators.

REAR PANEL

1. BT ANTENNA: Socket for plugging in the supplied BT antenna.
2. 12V DC POWER SUPPLY: Only use the provided power adapter to power the unit. When (dis)connecting the power
   adapter, make sure the power of the unit is off. Connect the cord to the unit first, before plugging into the mains outlet.
3. ON/OFF SWITCH: Turns the unit ON/OFF.
4. MASTER OUTPUT: RCA connectors to connect the unit to an amplifier.
5. CHANNEL 1 & 2 INPUTS: These LINE inputs can be used to connect CD/MP3 players, etc.
6. MIC INPUT: 6.3mm (1/4") input jack for connecting a microphone.
7. HEADPHONES SOCKET: 6.3mm (1/4") output jack for connecting headphones. This allows for pre-listening (PFL signal).

CONNECTING WITH BT

1. Activate the BT-function on your device (Mobile phone, tablet etc.) from which you want to play the music. See the operating instructions for that device.
2. Enter "BT" mode to activate BT-function.
3. Select "Bluetooth" on your BT-device and make the BT-connection

Attention: The BT distance is approx. 10 meter without any barrier.

On the label on the backside of the product is indicated on this type of power supply must be connected. Check that the mains voltage corresponds to this, all other voltages than specified, the light effect can be irreparably damaged.
