How to install the Twin Plus 30.3049 thermo-hygrometer?

Place the base station and transmitter on a table about 1.5 m apart, away from sources of interference (electronic devices). Insert two AAA batteries into the transmitter (observe polarity), then two AAA batteries into the base station. A beep sounds and the display turns on. Outdoor values are received automatically within 3 minutes.

How to change the display from °C to °F?

On the base station, press the ▼/°C/°F button on the back to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit. On the transmitter, use the °C/°F button in the battery compartment.

Why does the outdoor display show '--'?

This means the base station is not receiving values from the transmitter. Check transmitter batteries, reduce distance between units, move away from interference sources (TV, computer), or perform a manual search by pressing and holding SEARCH/IN/OUT for 3 seconds.

How to set temperature and humidity alarms?

Press and hold the ALERT button on the back of the base station. Use ▲ or ▼/°C/°F to choose between outdoor or indoor values. Confirm with ALERT to set upper and lower temperature limits, then upper and lower humidity limits. Confirm each setting with ALERT.

How to enable or disable the alarm?

In normal mode, select outdoor or indoor display with SEARCH/IN/OUT. Press ALERT repeatedly to activate temperature alarm (left icon), humidity alarm (right icon), or both (two icons). Press again to deactivate all alarms.

What does the smiley (comfort level) mean?

The smiley indicates the comfort level based on indoor temperature and humidity: four faces: cold, comfortable, warm, and very hot. It displays automatically.

What does the snowflake symbol mean?

The snowflake symbol appears when the outdoor temperature is between -2 °C and +3 °C. It is a frost warning.

How to clear the max/min values?

To clear outdoor max/min values, press and hold SEARCH/IN/OUT for 3 seconds in outdoor mode. To clear all values, press the RESET button with a pointed object or remove the batteries.

What is the maximum range of the transmitter?

The range is about 30 meters in open field. Thick walls or metal structures may reduce range. If necessary, move the transmitter or base station.

How to clean and maintain the device?

Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive solvents. Remove batteries if not used for a long period. Store in a dry place.

Caution! Risk of injury:

• Keep these instruments and the batteries out of the reach of children.
• Batteries must not be thrown into a fire, short-circuited, taken apart or recharged. Risk of explosion!
• Batteries contain harmful acids. Low batteries should be changed as soon as possible to prevent damage caused by leaking. Never use a combination of old and new batteries together, nor batteries of different types. Wear chemical-resistant protective gloves and safety glasses when handling leaking batteries.

Important information on product safety!

• Do not place the unit near extreme temperatures, vibrations or shocks.
• Protect from moisture.
• The transmitter is splashproof, but not watertight. Should you decide to use the transmitter in the outdoor area, choose a shady and dry place.

6. Getting started

Insert batteries:

• Place both instruments on a desk with a distance of approximately 1.5 meter. Check that no other electronic devices are close.
• Open the battery compartment of the transmitter by pulling the battery compartment cover downwards (see marking) and lift up the cover.
• Insert two new batteries 1,5 V AAA, ensure battery polarities are correct.
• Close the battery compartment again.
• Open the battery compartment of the basic unit and insert two new batteries 1.5 V AAA, ensure battery polarities are correct.
• A brief beep tone will sound and all LCD segments will light up for a short moment.
• Close the battery compartment again.
  • The indoor temperature and humidity appear in the display.

Reception of the outdoor values

• After the batteries are inserted the outdoor temperature and humidity will automatically be transmitted to the basic unit.

• The reception signal-symbol flashes. The basic unit will scan for 3 minutes the outdoor values.
• To toggle to the display of the outdoor temperature and humidity press the SEARCH/IN/OUT button in normal mode.
• If the reception of outdoor temperature and humidity fails, “--,” appears on the display. Check the batteries and try it again. Check if there is any source of interference.
• Manual initialization can be helpful. Press and hold SEARCH/IN/OUT button of the basic unit for 3 seconds in outdoor mode.
• A brief beep tone will sound, “- - -” and the reception symbol flash on the display. The basic unit will scan the outdoor values.

7. Operation

• The instrument will automatically quit the setting mode if no button is pressed within 15 seconds.
• Every press of a button is confirmed with a short beep.

7.1 Store and reset of the maximum and minimum values

• As soon as the basic unit and the outdoor transmitter are active the maximum and minimum values for indoor and outdoor will be stored and reset automatically after 24 hours.
• Press and hold SEARCH/IN/OUT button for 3 seconds in the outdoor mode to clear the maximum and minimum outdoor values manually. At the same time the reception for the outdoor transmitter will be activated.
• Press the RESET button with a pointed pin or remove the batteries to clear all recorded values.

7.2 Temperature indication

- Press the / ^ / ^ button at the backside of the basic unit in normal mode to change between ^ (Celsius) or ^ (Fahrenheit) as temperature unit.

7.3 Temperature and humidity

• The display shows the current indoor temperature and the humidity, the comfort level and the maximum and minimum values for the past 24 hours.
• Press the SEARCH/IN/OUT button.

• The display shows the current outdoor temperature and the humidity, the comfort level and the maximum and minimum values for the past 24 hours.
• Press the SEARCH/IN/OUT button again.
  • and the circle symbol appear on the display.
• All outdoor and indoor values will appear alternating for 6 seconds.
• Press the SEARCH/IN/OUT button again to return to normal mode.

7.4 Comfort level

- On the display appear four different faces to indicate the comfort level for temperature and humidity.

7.5 Alarm for temperature and humidity

7.5.1 Adjust the alarms

• Press and hold the ALERT button at the backside of the basic unit in normal mode.

• Press ▼/°C/°F or ▲ button to toggle between indoor or outdoor area.
• Press the ALERT button again.
• and the default or the last adjusted upper temperature limit appear on the display.
• Press the ▼/°C/°F or ▲ button to adjust the desired upper temperature limit.

7.5.2 Activate the alarms

• Press SEARCH/IN/OUT button in normal mode to toggle between indoor or outdoor area.
• Confirm with the ALERT button.

• Press the ALERT button again to activate only the humidity alarm. Appears on the right display.
• Press the ALERT button again to activate both alarms. 📄 appears on both displays.
• Press the ALERT button again to deactivate the alarm functions.

7.6 Case of alarm

- In the case of an alarm the corresponding symbol flashes and an alarm sound is acitated. You can stop the alarm by pressing any button. If the alarm will not turned off, it will automatically turn off after approximately 2 minutes.

7.7 Indication of frost

- If the outside temperature is between -2^ and +3^ the snowflake symbol appears on the display.

7.8 Outdoor transmitter

7.8.1 Temperature indication

- Press °C/°F button to change between °C (Celsius) or °F (Fahrenheit) as temperature unit.

7.9 Positioning and fixing of the basic unit and the transmitter

• With the foldable leg at the back of the basic unit it can be placed onto any flat surface or wall mounted at the respective location by the hanging hole at the back of the unit. Avoid the vicinity of any interfering field like computer monitors or TV sets and solid metal objects.

Choose a shady and dry position for the transmitter. (Direct sunshine falsifies the measurement and continuous humidity strains the electronic components needlessly).
• Check the transmission of 433 MHz signal from the transmitter to the basic unit (transmission range 30 m free field). Within ferro-concrete rooms (basements, superstructures), the received signal is naturally weakened.
• If necessary choose another position for transmitter and/or basic unit.

8. Care and maintenance

• Clean the instruments with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
• Remove the batteries if you do not use the product for a long period of time.
• Store the devices in a dry place.

8.1 Battery replacement

• When the battery symbol appears, replace the batteries in the transmitter.
• Please note: When the batteries are changed, the contact between transmitter and receiver must be restored – so always insert new batteries into both units or start a manual transmitter search.

→ Reduce the distance between the transmitter and the basic unit
→ Check if there is any source of interference.

10. Waste disposal
