Dispose of packaging and device in an environmentally- friendly way! Solar light strip Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new device. You have selected a high quality product. Please be sure to care- fully read the complete instructions for use. Fold out the page with the illustrations. These instructions are part of the product and contain important infor- mation on setup and handling. Always follow all safety instructions. Before using this product for the first time verify the correct voltage and that all parts are properly installed. Should you have any ques- tions or you are unsure about operating the prod- uct, please contact the dealer or service centre. Please keep these instructions in a safe place and pass them on to third parties as applicable. Intended use This light is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. This product is intended for private household use only. Not suitable as room lighting. Outdoor light, LED lamp is suitable for extreme temperatures below -20 °C. Item 14129705L: This is a specialist product, as the chromaticity values lie outside the ranges stated in brackets. Chromaticity: (x <0.270 or x >0.530); (y <-2.172 x² or y >-2.3172 x² + 2.3653 x -0.1595). This rope light must not be used without all gaskets being in place.

AND SMALL CHILDREN! Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. The packaging material poses a suffocation hazard. Children often underestimate dangers. Please always keep the product out of the reach of children. This device may be used by children aged 8 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience and/or knowledge, so long as they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the device and understand the as- sociated risks. Do not allow children to play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision. ATTENTION! Do not look into the LED from up close whilst in use. Do not look at the LED with an optical instrument (e.g. magnifier). Do not operate the tape light whilst rolled up or in the packaging. Never connect the LED tape with other LED tapes. The LEDs are non-replaceable. If the LEDs cease to function at the end of their operational life, the entire item must be replaced. Introduction14 GB/IE Start-up / Maintenance and Cleaning / Disposal Safety Avoid the risk of fatal injury due to electric shock Check the LED tape light for damage before every use. Never use the LED tape light if any damage is detected. In the case of damage, repairs or other problems related to the LED strip, please contact the ser- vice centre or a qualified electrician. Never open any of the components of the elec- trical equipment or insert any objects into them. This poses a risk of fatal injury due to electric shock. Protect the product from sharp edges, mechanical loads and hot surfaces. Do not secure with sharp staples or nails. Never touch the plug or the LED strip with wet hands. To prevent hazards, a damaged lead must be replaced by the manufacturer or a professional. When installing on outdoor flooring, protect the supply cable from damage (passing over, etc.). Prevent fire and injury hazards This product does not contain any parts which can be serviced by the user. The LEDs cannot be replaced. Safety instructions for batteries / rechargeable batteries DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention. DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or open them. Overheating, fire or burst- ing can be the result. Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into fire or water. Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable batteries. Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In the event of contact with battery acid, thoroughly flush the affected area with plenty of clean water and seek immediate medical attention. WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs. This product features a built-in rechargeable battery which cannot be replaced by the user. Safe working Do not leave the LED tape light or packaging material lying about carelessly. The packaging material presents a suffocation hazard and there is a danger to life due to strangulation. Install the light so that it is protected from dirt and excessive heating. Always be attentive! Always pay attention to what you are doing and use common sense. Never use the LED tape light if you are having difficulty concentrating or do not feel well. Before use, familiarise yourself with all the in- structions and diagrams in these instructions, as well as with the LED tape light itself.15 GB/IE Start-up / Maintenance and Cleaning / Disposal Start-up Installing the LED tape light Note: Ensure that the installation area is clean, grease-free and dry. Otherwise the functionality of the adhesive strip may be impaired. Choose a suitable installation area (window etc.). Remove the protective foil from the reverse side of the LED strip

. Ensure when removing the protective film that you do not peel away the adhesive tape too. Stick the LED strip

with the adhesive strip onto the installation area and press it on firmly. Alternatively, secure the LED strip

Mount the solar panel

and the ground stake

. Ensure during assembly that the solar panel

is connected flush with the tube

. Mount the plug-in connector

with the earth stake

into the ground. Loosen the locking screw

Adjust the solar panel

to the desired position. Re-tighten the locking screw

Your light is now ready to use. Switching the LED strip on / off Note: The LED strip is only switchable when the light has been switched on by the twilight sensor. Press the power switch (ON / OFF)

to switch on the LED strip

You can choose between 7 different effects or permanent lighting by pressing the MODE button

The solar module takes approx. 3–4 hours to charge. When fully charged, the lighting time is 10–12 hours. The solar panel

contains a twilight sensor which automatically switches the light on and off again. Press the power switch (ON / OFF)

Cutting the LED strip light The LED strip light

can be cut to size as required.

DANGER TO LIFE DUE TO

ELECTRIC SHOCK! Disconnect the light from the power source be- fore working on the LED strip light

from the solar cell. Determine the desired length for the LED strip light

Note: Make sure you cut the LED strip light

at the correct point (see Ill. B). Cut the LED strip light

with a pair of scissors. Be sure to cover the open end of the LED strip light

with the adhesive strip

before us- ing the light (see Ill. C). Maintenance and cleaning

ELECTRIC SHOCK! Disconnect the light from the power supply through the solar panel

before performing any work on the LED strip

Disconnect the plug-in connector

to do so. Do not use solvents, petrol or similar substances, as they would damage the light. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the LED tap light

Disposal The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.
