Frequently Asked Questions - Beerfest Klarstein

How to prepare the wort with the Klarstein Beerfest?
Place the grid in the tank, add water and crushed malt. Gradually heat from 55-65 °C to 78 °C over 3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Test the starch with iodine: if it no longer colors, the starch has been converted.
What is the ideal temperature for primary fermentation?
Primary fermentation should take place between 8 and 12 °C for 5 to 7 days. After 18-24 hours, bubbles form; on day 4-6, they subside, indicating the young beer is ready.
How to clean the tank after use?
Unplug the device and let it cool completely. Clean the stainless steel parts with common non-abrasive products. Use a pipe cleaner for hard-to-reach areas. Never immerse the electrical parts or use a pressure washer.
Can I brew beers other than those from the provided recipes?
Yes, the recipes are examples. You can adapt the steps according to your personal recipe, respecting the temperature ranges and brewing times indicated in the manual.
What to do if the iodine test still shows starch after 3 hours?
Continue the brewing process by maintaining the temperature around 72-78 °C and test again every 10 minutes until the starch is fully converted.
How to set the timer on the Beerfest?
Turn the adjustment knob clockwise to set a duration from 10 to 120 minutes (automatic timer mode). For continuous operation, set the switch to the on position.
What is the maximum wort capacity per batch?
The tank has a volume of 30 liters, but beer production depends on the recipe. For example, a Pilsner yields about 7.5 L of finished beer, a March Beer 6.5-7 L.
Can the device be used to dispense beer under pressure?
No, the Klarstein Beerfest is designed for home brewing, not for pressure dispensing. It is a brewing kettle with integrated filtration.
How to replace parts like the grid or filter?
The supplied parts (grid, filter, sieve) are removable and cleanable. If damaged, contact the manufacturer or an authorized service to obtain spare parts.
Is it safe to leave the device unattended during brewing?
No, never leave the device running unattended. Follow safety instructions: do not turn on empty, do not move with hot liquid, and keep away from children.
