Safety instructions for the jump leads The capacity of the starter battery that is provid- ing the power, e.g. 45 A / h, (car B) must not be significantly lower than the flat starter battery (car A), if this is not the case it will not be possible to start the vehicle. There is danger of overheating. Only connect batteries of the same nominal voltage (12 or 24 volt) with the jump leads. Otherwise there is danger of short circuit, as well as danger of damaging the on-board elec- tronics and electrical components. The bodies of the vehicles (cars A and B) must not touch. Otherwise there is danger of short circuit. FIRE HAZARD! Keep ignition sources (e.g. open flame, burning cigars, cigarettes or electric sparks) away from the starter batteries.

CAUTION! DANGER OF INJURY! DAN-

GER OF EYE INJURIES! Do not bend over the starter batteries. The flat starter battery (car A) must not be sep- arated from its corresponding power supply network during the starting aid process. The ignitions of the vehicles must be switched off before the jump lead is connected, and the parking brake must be engaged. With manual gearboxes, put the gear lever into the neutral position. With automatic gearboxes put the gear selector into „P“. Position the jump leads in such a manner that they cannot be caught up in the moving parts of the engine. Using the LED light In poor lighting conditions, the LED lights

make connecting the jump leads easy. To switch on the LED light

set the ON/OFF switch

to (I). To switch off the LED light

set the ON/OFF switch

to (0). Two button cell batteries are located in each terminal. To replace these, remove the screws which are affixed directly to the ON/OFF switch

and remove the plastic cover. Please note the polarity when inserting the batteries (plus and minus poles). Using the jump leads Connecting EXPLOSION HAZARD! On no account should you connect the negative pole terminal (-) to the flat battery as there is a risk that sparks may fly and ignite explosive gases.

to the vehicle chassis, e.g. on the earthing strap or another unpainted part on the engine block of the broken-down vehicle (A). Note: The parts should be as far away as possi- ble from the starter battery in order to prevent any explosive gas that may develop from being ignited. Note: If the green LED of the overvoltage protection

lights up, it means that this has been activated and is functioning. The overvoltage protection ab- sorbs any potential voltage peaks. Starting After you have connected the jump leads, first switch on the engine of the vehicle with the donor battery and bring it to average speed (car B). Then start the engine of the broken-down vehicle (car A). Note: After every attempt to start the car - which should not be longer than 15 seconds - wait for at least 1 minute. If you cannot start the car after several attempts, contact a garage. After successfully starting the broken-down vehicle (car A) wait for 2 to 3 minutes until the engine is running smoothly. Disconnecting Note: Disconnect the jump leads in the reverse order to the way they were connected.

3. Remove the two pole terminals

in any order you wish (A, B). When removing the jump leads, make sure that they do not come into contact with the moving parts of the engine. Note: Do not switch the vehicle that has been jump started off immediately. Drive the vehicle around for a while so that the battery is recharged by the alternator. Maintenance and care

ELECTRIC SHOCK! For reasons of electrical safety, the jump lead may never be cleaned with water or other fluids and never be im- mersed into water. After using the jump lead set, always store it in the storage bag it came in to protect the prod- uct from damp and dirt. Note: The jump lead should always be carried safely in the vehicle.
