Frequently Asked Questions - DIS127 ULTIMATE SPEED

How to connect the jumper cables?
First connect the red clamp (+) to the positive terminal of the discharged battery (A), then the other red clamp to the positive terminal of the donor battery (B). Next, connect the black clamp (-) to the negative terminal of the donor battery (B), and finally the last black clamp to a metal ground on the discharged vehicle (A), away from the battery.
In what order should the cables be disconnected after starting?
Disconnect in reverse order of connection: first the black clamp from the ground of the discharged vehicle (A), then the black clamp from the negative terminal of the donor battery (B), then both red clamps (order is not important).
What to do if the red LED lights up?
The red LED indicates that the overvoltage protection is activated and working. This means it absorbs voltage spikes. No further action is required, but check that the connections are correct.
Which batteries can be used with this cable?
This cable is compatible with 12 V or 24 V batteries. Both batteries (donor and discharged) must have the same nominal voltage and similar capacity. The donor battery must not be significantly less powerful than the discharged battery.
Which engines can be started with this cable?
It is approved for gasoline engines up to 5500 cm³ and diesel engines up to 3000 cm³.
Can this cable be used in an explosive atmosphere?
No, it is forbidden to use the cable in an explosive environment containing flammable vapors, gases, or dust, due to the risk of explosion.
How to maintain the jumper cables?
Clean them only with a dry lint-free cloth. Never immerse them in water or other liquids. After use, store them in the storage bag to protect from moisture.
What to do if a starting attempt fails?
Do not exceed 15 seconds per attempt and wait at least one minute between each try. If after several attempts the vehicle does not start, consult a mechanic.
How long is the warranty valid?
This product comes with a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase against material and manufacturing defects. Keep the receipt as proof.
What is the total length of the cables?
The cables measure 2 × 3.5 meters each, for a total length of 7 meters.

Danger to life from electric shock

- Safety instructions for the aluminium jump leads

Before using the aluminium jump lead, always check it for any possible damage. Do not use the Aluminium jump lead if you see it is damaged in any way.
CAUTION! Damaged cables represent a risk to life from electric shock. Contact your service centre or an electrician if the product is damaged, needs being repaired or has some other problem with it.
- Never open one of the electrical equipment (cables) or place any objects into them. Such procedures could put your life at risk from electric shock.
The capacity of the starter battery that is providing the power, e.g. 45A / h (car B) must not be significantly lower than the flat starter battery (car A), if this is not the case it will not be possible to start the vehicle. There is danger of overheating.
Only connect batteries of the same nominal voltage (12 or 24 volt) with the aluminium jump leads. Otherwise there is danger of short circuit, as well as danger of damaging the on-board electronics and electrical components.
The bodies of the vehicles (cars A and B) must not touch. Otherwise there is danger of short circuit.

ULTIMATE SPEED DIS127 - - Safety instructions for the aluminium jump leads - 1

FIRE HAZARD! Keep ignition sources (e.g. open flame, burning cigars, cigarettes or electric sparks)

away from the starter batteries.

CAUTION! DANGER OF INJURY! DANGER OF EYE INJURIES! Do not bend over the starter batteries. The electrolyte is also in a liquid state at low temperatures and regardless of the charge status.

The flat starter battery (car A) must not be separated from its corresponding power supply network during the starting aid process.
The ignitions of the vehicles must be switched off before the aluminium jump leads cable are

connected, and the parking brake must be engaged. With manual gearboxes, put the gear lever into the neutral position, with automatic gearboxes put the gear selector into "P".
Position the aluminium jump leads in such a manner that they cannot be caught up in the moving parts of the engine.

Using the aluminium jump leads

Connecting

Note: First check whether the two batteries, donor battery (car B) and flat battery (car A) have the same voltage (12 or 24 volt) and approximately the same capacity. Compare the label information on the batteries!

RISK OF EXPLOSION! On no

account should you connect the negative pole to the flat battery as

there is a risk that sparks may fly and ignite explosive gases.

  1. Connect the red aluminium jump lead 3 with the red pole terminal (+)2 to the positive pole on battery (A).
  2. Connect the other pole terminal 2 of the aluminium jump lead 3 to the positive pole of the donor battery (B).
  3. Connect the black aluminium jump lead 1 with the black pole terminal (-) 4 to the negative pole of the donor battery (B).
  4. Then connect the other pole terminal 4 of the black aluminium jump lead 1 to the vehicle chassis, e.g. on the earthing strap or another unpainted part on the engine block of the broken-down vehicle (A).

Note: The parts should be as far away as possible form the starter battery in order to prevent any explosive gas that may develop from being ignited.

Note: If the red LED illuminates, it means that the overvoltage protection is active and works. This absorbs any potential voltage peaks.

Start

After connecting the aluminium jump lead, start the engine of the vehicle with the donor battery and allow it to run normally (car B). Then, start the vehicle with the dead battery (A).

Note: After every attempt to start the car - which should not be longer than 15 seconds - wait for at least 1 minute. If you cannot start the car after several attempts, contact a garage.

After successfully starting the broken-down vehicle (car A) wait for 2 to 3 minutes until the engine is running smoothly.

- Disconnecting

Note: Disconnect the aluminium jump leads in the reverse order to the way they were connected.

  1. Remove the pole terminal 4 of the black aluminium jump lead 1 from the vehicle chassis of the broken-down car (A).
  2. Then disconnect the other pole terminal 4 of the black aluminium jump lead 1 from the negative pole of the donor battery (B).
  3. Remove the two pole terminals 2 of the red aluminium jump lead 3 in any order you wish (A, B).

When removing the aluminium jump leads, make sure that they do not come into contact with the moving parts of the engine.

Note: Do not switch the vehicle that has been aluminium jump started off immediately. Drive the vehicle around for a while so that the battery is recharged by the alternator.

Care and maintenance

WARNING! DANGER TO LIFE FROM

ELECTRIC SHOCK! For reasons of electrical safety, the aluminium jump lead may never be cleaned with water or other fluids and never be immersed into water.

After using the aluminium jump lead, always store it in the storage bag it came in to protect the product from damp and dirt.
