NOTE ► The vibration emission values and the noise emission values given in these instructions have been measured in accordance with a standardised test procedure and can be used for comparing one power tool with another. ► The specified total vibration values and the noise emission values can also be used to make a provisional load estimate. WARNING! ► Depending on the manner in which the power tool is being used, and in particular the kind of workpiece being worked, the vibration and noise emission values can deviate from the values given in these instructions during actual use of the power tool. ► Try to keep the vibration load as low as pos- sible. Measures to reduce the vibration load are, e.g. wearing gloves and limiting the working time. Wherein all states of operation must be included (e.g. times when the power tool is switched off and times where the power tool is switched on but running without load). General power tool safety warnings WARNING! ► Read all safety warnings, instructions, illus- trations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instruc- tions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery- operated (cordless) power tool.
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in explosive at- mospheres, such as in the presence of flamma- ble liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.■ 14
2. Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of elec- tric shock if your body is earthed or grounded. c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. e) When working outdoors with an electrical power tool, always use extension cords that are also suitable for use outdoors. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating a power tool may result in serious personal injury. b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection used for appropriate condi- tions will reduce personal injuries. c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites acci- dents. d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts. g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards. h) Do not allow yourself to get lulled into a false sense of security and do not ignore the safety rules for power tools, even if you are familiar with the power tool after repeated use. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.GB
4. Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that can- not be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detacha- ble, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool acci- dentally. d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. e) Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. g) Use the power tool, accessories and accesso- ry tools etc. in accordance with these instruc- tions, taking into account the working condi- tions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situ- ation. h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unex- pected situations.
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained. Safety instructions for mixers ■ Hold the power took firmly with both hands on the handles provided. A loss of control can lead to injuries. ■ To avoid creating a dangerous atmosphere, ensure sufficient ventilation when stirring flam- mable materials. There is a risk of inhaling vapours or ignition of vapours by the sparks generated by the power tool. ■ Do not use the appliance for stirring food. Power tools and their accessories are not designed for processing food. ■ Keep the mains cable out of the work area. The mains cable can get caught in the stirrer head. ■ Ensure that the mixing container is standing firmly and securely. A container that is not properly secured can move unexpectedly. ■ Ensure that no liquids can splash the housing of the power tool. Liquid penetrating into the power tool can cause damage and electric shock. ■ Follow the directions and safety instructions for the material to be stirred. The material being stirred can be harmful to health. ■ If the power tool falls into the material being stirred, disconnect the mains cable immediate- ly and have the power tool checked by quali- fied personnel. Reaching into the container while the power tool is still connected to the socket can cause an electric shock. ■ Do not reach into the mixing container with your hands or insert any other objects during the mixing process. Contact with the stirrer head can lead to serious injuries. ■ Make sure the power tool is inserted into the mixing container before starting it up or al- lowing it to run down. The stirrer head can spin around or bend in an uncontrolled manner.■ 16

The following risks can occur in relation to the power tool’s design and structure ■ Lung damage, if no suitable breathing protec- tion is worn. ■ Hearing damage, if no suitable hearing protec- tion is worn. ■ Damage to health caused by vibrations if the appliance is used for extended periods or is not properly used and maintained. ■ Crushing injuries, if you come into contact with rotating parts. ■ Risk of electric shock! Hold the appliance by the insulated handles when you are carrying out work during which the deployed tool may come into contact with concealed power cables or its own power cable. Contact with a live wire can also make metal parts of the appliance live and could result in an electric shock. WARNING! ► The power tool creates an electromagnetic field during operation. This field can, in cer- tain circumstances, impair active or passive medical implants. To reduce the risk of fatal injuries, we recommend that people with medical implants consult their doctor and the manufacturer of the medical implant before operating this machine.
