How to turn on the Rukus XL speaker?

Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep. The icons flash sequentially to indicate power on.

How to pair a Bluetooth device with the Rukus XL?

Make sure the speaker is on. Enable Bluetooth on your device and select 'Rukus XL' from the list of devices. Connection is automatic after the first pairing.

How to charge the battery of the Rukus XL?

You can recharge the battery in two ways: via the included AC adapter by plugging the cable into the DC jack under the rubber cover, or by exposing the solar panel to light. A charging indicator shows the battery status.

Can I charge my smartphone with the Rukus XL?

Yes, simply plug your smartphone or other USB device into the USB port of the speaker. Charging starts immediately, even if the Rukus XL is off. Note: leaving the device plugged in after full charge drains the Rukus XL battery.

How to use the auxiliary input (AUX)?

Connect your audio source (MP3 player, etc.) to the AUX input using a 3.5mm jack cable. Press the AUX button to switch from Bluetooth to auxiliary input. The AUX indicator lights up when this input is active.

How to activate the Bass Boost function?

Press the Bass Boost button to toggle this function. It enhances low frequencies for a more powerful sound.

How to save battery?

The power saving mode activates automatically when the smartphone or USB device is not in use. You can also turn off the speaker by holding the ON/OFF button.

What to do if the Rukus XL won't turn on?

Check that the battery is charged. Plug the AC adapter into an outlet and the speaker. If the problem persists, contact ETON customer service at 1-800-872-2228 (USA) or 650-903-3866 (international).

How to clean the Rukus XL?

Use a dry cloth to clean the device. Never use chemical detergents or solvents, as they may damage the finish.

The Rukus XL is powered from the rechargeable Li-ion battery charged by the solar panel or the AC adapter (included). Pressing and holding the button shows the condition of the Li-ion battery. The Li-ion battery (SW9) starts charging once the AC adapter is plugged in or when the solar panel is in direct sunlight.

PLUGGING IN THE AC ADAPTER

The Rukus XL comes equipped with an AC adapter. Plug the AC adapter into the right socket labeled DC located under the rubber plug on the side of the Rukus XL. Plug the other end into an AC socket. With the AC adapter plugged in, the Rukus XL starts charging its Li-ion battery and is ready to play.

CONNECTING YOUR BLUETOOTH DEVICE

Press and HOLD the ON/OFF Power button for 3 seconds (until you hear the beep).

CHARGING A SMARTPHONE OR OTHER USB DEVICE THROUGH USB PORT

The smartphone or USB device starts charging once it is inserted into the USB port. When the Rukus XL's POWER is OFF it can still charge your device. Please be advised that leaving your device after it has received a full charge from the Rukus XL, if is still set 'ON', it will continue to drain the Rukus XL's internal battery.

ADJUSTING THE VOLUME +-

Press the volume buttons, +, to increase or decrease volume levels or control it on your Bluetooth® device.

BASS BOOST FUNCTION

Press the boss on to turn on Bass Boost.

AUX (AUXILIARY)

The AUX ton switches between Bluetooth device and AUX-input if there is a signal from the AUX-In port. The Bluetooth signal takes priority if there is a Bluetooth signal and an audio-in signal at the same time. If the audio-in signal is present, the switching function of the 'AUX' button is available. The AUX light turns on when auxiliary input is being used.

Pressing the ▶ button switches from play to pause for the Bluetooth device, or control it directly on your device.

If further service is required, the technical staff will instruct how to proceed based on whether the radio is still under warranty or needs non-warranty service.

WARRANTY – If your product is still in warranty and the Etón service representative determines that warranty service is needed, a return authorization will be issued and instructions for shipment to an authorized warranty repair facility. Do not ship your radio back without obtaining the return authorization number.

NON-WARRANTY – If your product is no longer under warranty and requires service our technical staff will refer you to the nearest repair facility that will be able to best handle the repair. For service outside of North America, please refer to the distributor information included at time of purchase/receipt.
