Instruction Manual Thank you for choosing our product. We hope you will enjoy using the appliance. Symbols in this Instruction Manual Important information for your safety is specially marked. It is essential to comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage to the appliance:
This warns you of dangers to your health and indicates possible injury risks. CAUTION: This refers to possible hazards to the appliance or other objects. NOTE: This highlights tips and information. General Notes Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not t for commercial use.
- Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the appliance without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the appliance off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

WARNING: Risk of Burns!
During operation and afterwards, the temperature of the accessi- ble surfaces will be very high.
- Always hold the appliance by the handle. Use oven gloves, if necessary.
- Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance.
- Beware of any steam coming out of the sides of the appliance during the baking process and when opening the baking sur- faces. CAUTION:
- Do not operate the appliance with an external timer or separate remote control system.WA3772_IM 09.02.21
- Place the appliance on a at and heat-resistant surface. In the case of sensitive surfaces please place a heat-resistant board under the appliance.
- In order to prevent heat from building up, do not put the ap- pliance directly underneath a cupboard. Ensure that there is enough space all around!
- Be cautious of heat escaping from the appliance! Never use the appliance near or below curtains or other ammable materials!
- Please ensure that the mains lead does not come into contact with the hot sections of the appliance.
- Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it and putting it away.
- This appliance is not intended to be immersed in water during cleaning. Please observe the instructions that we have included for you in the chapter “Cleaning”.
- Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an au- thorized technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be re- placed by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental ca- pabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older 8 years and supervised.WA3772_IM 09.02.21
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years. Unpacking the Appliance
1. Remove the appliance from its packaging.
2. Remove all packaging materials such as lms, ller
material, cable clips and carton.
3. To prevent hazards, check the appliance for any
transport damage. Do not put a damaged appliance into operation. Return it to the dealer immediately. Starting-Up the Appliance Electrical Connection Check whether the mains voltage that you want to use matches the one of the appliance. You will nd the informa- tion about this on the type plate. Non-Stick Coating Before you prepare the rst wafes for consumption:
1. Clean the housing and the baking surfaces with a damp
2. Lightly grease the baking surfaces before the appliance
is used for the rst time.
3. Use the appliance for about 10 minutes with the toasting
surfaces closed (see “Using the Appliance”). NOTE:
- Any smoke or smells produced during this proce- dure are normal. Please ensure sufcient ventilation.
- Do not eat the wafes prepared during rst time operation.
4. Remove the mains plug from the socket and allow the
appliance to cool down.
5. After the appliance has cooled down, wipe the baking
surfaces off with a paper towel. Using the Appliance CAUTION: Do not use pointed or sharp objects to avoid damaging the coating of the baking surfaces. NOTE:
- Keep the baking surfaces closed while heating.
- After heating up the appliance, the green control lamp will turn off.
- The red control lamp remains on to show that the appliance is working.
- The green control lamp switches on and off during baking in order to maintain the baking temperature.
- The baking section should always be closed in the intervals between baking. NOTE:
- Make sure the power cord does not become twisted with the repeated turning of the appliance. For this reason, always turn the appliance once to the right and once to the left.
1. Set up the appliance so that you can see both indicator
2. Connect the appliance to a properly installed earthed
socket. Both indicator lights are lit. The appliance will begin heating up immediately.
3. Once the appliance has heated up, open the baking
surfaces using the handle.
4. For best results, use a pastry brush to spread some
shortening on both baking surfaces. Alternatively, spray the baking surface lightly with edible cooking oil. This will make it easier to remove the wafes once they have nished baking.
5. Add some dough to the middle of the lower baking surface.
Spread the dough using a silicone spoon, for example. NOTE:
- The recesses in the baking surface should be lled, but the outer edge should remain clear.
- The dough should be lled in quickly as otherwise the wafers will not brown evenly.
6. Close the appliance. In order to spread the dough
evenly, we recommend immediately turning the appli- ance around 180 ° degrees. Grasp the appliance by the handle as you do this. Now, you will only see the green indicator light on the appliance.
Be careful of the emitted steam. Risk of burns! NOTE:
- The baking process lasts approx. 3 minutes. This may vary depending on the consistency of the mixture.WA3772_IM 09.02.21
- If your wafes come out too dark, shorten the bak- ing time the next time. Remove the ready-to-eat wafes with a wooden fork or similar.
8. Place the wafe on a platter or plate and sprinkle some
icing sugar on top of it.
9. Lightly grease the baking surfaces again as required
after each baking process. End of Operation Remove the mains plug from the socket. The red control lamp goes off. Recipe for “Bubble Wafes”
1. Place the following ingredients in a bowl and beat them
until uffy: 85 g melted butter 175 g sugar 1 sachet of vanilla sugar 1 pinch of salt 4 eggs
2. Prepare a mixture consisting of 175 g wheat our and
1 teaspoon baking powder. Stir this mixture into the foamy batter.
3. Finally stir 50 ml of milk into the batter.
You can nd more recipes in cookbooks or on the internet. You can also use ready-mixes. Cleaning
- Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until the appliance has cooled down.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water! It could result in an elec- tric shock or re. CAUTION:
- Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents. Baking Surfaces
- Remove any food residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper towel.
- Wash off the baking surfaces with a soft sponge and soapy water; then wipe with clean water and dry thor- oughly with a soft cloth. After drying please apply a thin lm of edible oil to the surface. Housing Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth. Storage
- Clean the appliance as described and allow to dry completely.
- We recommend to keep the appliance in the original packaging if the appliance will not be used for long periods.
- Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children in a dry, well ventilated place. Troubleshooting If a problem occurs, it is often only a small thing. Before you contact our service, please note the following information: Problem Possible Cause Remedy The appliance does not work. The appliance has no power supply. Problem Possible Cause Remedy The wafes are varying de- grees of brown. You did not turn over the appliance after adding the dough. After adding the dough, immediately turn the appliance around 180 °. The wafes don’t have the characteristic bubble-like structure. The batter has overow. You have poured into much batter. Fill in and distribute the correct amount of batter. The wafes are too light. The baking time was too short. Increase the baking time. The wafes are too dark. The baking time was too long.
