Overview of the Components

2 Heat-insulated handle
3 Green power-on light
4 Red control lamp

Starting-up the unit

Please read these operating instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place. If you sell or give this article to other people please also pass on these instructions.

Non-stick coating

  • Lightly grease the baking surfaces before the unit is used for the first time.
  • Use the appliance for about 10 minutes with the toasting surfaces closed (see „Using the unit“).
  • Remove the mains plug from the socket and allow the device to cool down. Then wipe it down with a damp cloth.
  • Do not eat the first waffles.

i NOTE:

Any smoke or smells produced during this procedure are normal. Please ensure sufficient ventilation.

Using the unit

  1. Please unwind the lead completely.
  2. Insert the plug in a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protective contact socket. The green control lamp lights up.
  3. Keep the baking surfaces closed while heating. Once the heating-up phase has ended both control lamps are on.
  4. Open the lid and pour the dough in the middle of the baking surface. To obtain even waffles, spread the dough. Please put in only enough dough so that the lower baking surface is covered. The dough should be filled in quickly as otherwise the wafers will not brown evenly.

i NOTE:

  • Do not put in too much mixture or mixture that is too liquid as otherwise excessive steam and possibly also mixture may be expelled in the area of the baking surfaces.
  • Only fill in the mixture (or additional mixture) when the red control lamp is on. This will provide better baking results.
  • The degree of browning on the underside of the waffles will always be greater than on the top. This is because the mixture is first baked from the bottom and the top is only baked after the mixture has risen.

  • Close the lid gently and keep it pressed together for a short time. Be careful of the emitted steam, danger of burns.

6 When the red control lamp goes off the baking process is finished (It can vary depending on the thickness and consistency of the waffles). The baking time depends on your individual taste. Normal browning is achieved however when the control lamp goes off again. The green lamp remains on and shows that the device is switched on.

  1. Open the lid and remove the waffles with a wooden fork or a similar tool. Do not use sharp objects to avoid ruining the coating of the baking surface. Serve the waffles on a tray or in a disk and coat with some powdered sugar.

  2. Lightly grease the baking surfaces again as required after each baking process.

  3. The baking surfaces must always be kept closed during pauses in the baking.

Switching Off

If you would like to interrupt operation or switch the device off, remove the plug from the socket. The control lamps go off.

Recipe for waffles

5 egg yolks, 5 dessertspoons of hot water, 100 g sugar and 1 grated lemon peel should be mixed together until frothy and then a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon baking powder and 150 g flour should be stirred in. Beat the 5 egg whites stiff and fold them into the batter.

You can find further recipes in our recipe books or else you can use a ready-made baking mix.

Cleaning

  • Pull out the mains plug and allow the unit to cool down.
  • Brush off the crumbs or residues from the baking surfaces and the edges.
  • Clean the machine only with a slightly damp cloth.
