FUNCTION = Selection: more milk froth less milk froth heating only cold frothing ON/OFF = On/Off switch Important safety instructions ∙ In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please contact our customer service department by phone or email (see appendix). ∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely. ∙ Detailed information on cleaning can be found in the section Cleaning and care. ∙ Do not immerse the milk container or base in liquids and do not clean them under running water. ∙ Caution: The electrical connection in the base must be protected at all times against possible spillage of liquids. ∙ The milk frother must only be used on its designated base. ∙ Caution: Any misuse can cause severe personal injury. ∙ Always use the milk container handle, as the surface may be hot during and after operation. ∙ This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as the - staff kitchens in shops, ofcesandothersimilar working environments, - agricultural working environments, - by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar accommodation, - in bed-and breakfast type environments. ∙ This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved. ∙ Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance. ∙ Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised and at least 8 years of age. ∙ The appliance and its12 104 x 142 mm power cord must be kept well away from children under 8 at all times. ∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – such materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation. ∙ Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as wellasanyattachmentttedshould be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance. ∙ This appliance is solely designed for heating up and frothing milk. Do not put any other type of liquid or solid food in the container. ∙ Do not leave the milk frother unattended while in use. ∙ Always observe the min and max level marks inside the container for each application. If there is not enough milk, the appliance may overheat. ∙ To prevent such overheating, the appliance will automatically switch off if it is operated when empty, or containing too little milk. This is indicated by the lightringashingalternatelyblueand red. ∙ Overllingthecontainermaycause danger if frothing milk is forced out. ∙ Caution: Thelidmustalwaysbetted during operation. ∙ The appliance may only be used with the original accessory parts provided by the manufacturer. ∙ The appliance must always be set on a rm,levelsurface. ∙ Do not allow the appliance or its power cord to come into contact with open amesoranyhotsurfacessuchashot- plates. ∙ Do not allow the power cord to hang free; the cord must be kept well away from hot parts of the appliance. ∙ Always remove the plug from the wall socket - in case of any malfunction, - after use, - before cleaning the appliance. ∙ When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself. ∙ No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with. Before using for the rst time ∙ Remove any remaining packaging materials and promotional stickers, and check that all components are present. ∙ Before the appliance is used for the rsttime,orafterextendedperiodsof non-use, it should be thoroughly cleaned as described in the section Cleaning and care.104 x 142 mm

Operation Stirring tool ∙ For frothing milk, use the stirring tool with coil attachment. ∙ For heating milk, use the stirring tool without coil attachment. Note! Should the inner ring inside the coil attachment be jammed or canted, the coil attachment becomes too wide and doesnolongerpreciselytthestirring tool. In this case, detach the two ends of the inner ring and re-align them, with the ends properly aligned. Fill amounts ∙ MIN minimum quantity of milk 75 ml ∙ MAX & maximum quantity of milk for frothing: 100 ml (lower max mark) ∙ MAX maximum quantity of milk for heating: 200 ml (upper max mark) Preparing the appliance ∙ Remove the lid from the milk container. ∙ Forfrothingmilk,tthecoilattachment to the stirring tool. ∙ Put the required amount of milk into the container. ∙ Place the lid on the container. ∙ Insert the plug into the wall socket. ∙ Place the milk container onto the base. Hint: We recommend using milk with a high protein content. For best results, the milk should be taken from the refrigerator immediately before frothing. Preparation ∙ Press the FUNCTION button: 1x: more milk froth, less milk 2x: less milk froth, more milk 3x: heating only 4x: cold frothing Theselectedfunctionstartsashing. ∙ Press the ON/OFF switch to start processing. ∙ The selected function is lit and the milk processing starts. ∙ Once processing is complete, the heating and stirring process stops automatically. Beep signals are heard andthefunctionlightsareashing. ∙ You can now remove the milk container from the base. ∙ Pour out the milk, or use a suitable spoon to take off the milk froth. ∙ Detach the power cord from the wall socket after use. Remark Always allow the appliance to cool down rst,andthencleanit,beforestartinga new cycle. Hint: To achieve a thicker froth, go through acold-frothingcyclerst,followedbya hot-frothing cycle.14 104 x 142 mm Interrupting a cycle Press the ON/OFF switch to stop the heating or stirring process; the appliance switches off. The process may also be stopped by removing the milk container from the base. Stand-by / Automatic switch-off ∙ With the light ring showing steady blue, the appliance is in stand-by mode. It then switches off automatically 5 minutes after non-use. ∙ The appliance can be switched off immediately by pressing the ON/OFF switch. Cleaning and care ∙ Always remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before cleaning the appliance. ∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the base or the power cord with water and do not immerse them. ∙ The lid and coil attachment should be cleaned after each cycle of use with hot water and a little detergent. If necessary, the coil attachment may be taken off and cleaned with a suitable brush. ∙ The milk container must not be immersed in water or cleaned in a dishwasher. Fill in some hot water and detergent and wipe it clean. ∙ Wipe all parts thoroughly dry. ∙ Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions. Disposal Devices marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from your household waste, as they contain valuable materials which can be recycled. Proper disposal protects the environment and human health. Your local authority or retailer can provide information on the matter. Guarantee This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that ithasnotbeenmodied,repairedor interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse. This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return.
