Before use, please read these instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place for future reference. When passing on the appliance to a third party, make sure to include these instructions for use.
This appliance is only intended and suitable for making waffles. All other use or modification of the appliance is not intended by the manufacturer and might entail a risk of damage or injury. This appliance is not intended for commercial use!

- Manufacturer takes no responsibility for any damage caused by incorrect use.
Incorrect or improper use can damage the appliance and cause injuries to the user. - Before connecting this appliance to the mains, make sure your local voltage matches the technical data of the appliance. Otherwise the appliance may overheat and get damaged.

Special Safety Instructions

Warning! To avoid the possibility of injury/damage to the appliance, electric shock, risk of fire and burns!
- Only use the appliance for its intended purpose and as described in this manual.
- Place the appliance on an even and heat-resistant surface.
- Attention: The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation. Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after operation. Only use the handle. Danger of serious burns!
- Position the device that it can be opened to the full extent.
Except for the heating up process, the device must not be operated empty. Be careful to ensure that the device does not become overheated. - Do not move the appliance during operation.
Always use a flat wooden or plastic spatula to remove the waffles. Never use any sharp or metal objects (e.g. knife,
metal spatula, etc.) as they would damage the non-stick coating of the plates.
- Adhere to a safety distance around the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance close to or under inflammable objects, e.g. curtains, wall cabinets
- Always unplug the appliance after use and let it completely cool down before cleaning.

Before First Use
- Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is complete.
- Place the appliance on an even, non-slippery and heat resistant surface.
Fully unwind the power cord (6) and connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket.
The waffle plates (4) have a protective coating. To remove the protective layers on the heating elements, heat up the appliance (without food) for approx. 10 minutes.
Slightly grease the waffle plates with some cooking oil before using the device for the first time. This helps to seal the heating plates and must only be carried out once.
This could cause a slight build-up of smoke and odor. This doesn't cause any harm nor does it mean that your appliance does not work properly. Make sure that the room is well ventilated!
After this preheating process, your waffle maker is ready for operation. Let it completely cool down and clean it as described under Cleaning and Care.

Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and babies, therefore keep them away to avoid
suffocation.
Operation
This appliance allows you to create perfect and evenly cooked waffles, by simply rotating your waffle maker at 180^ during the baking process.

The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation. Therefore, do not use the appliance during and/or immediately after operation.

Prepare your the waffle batter in advance before switching on the appliance.
- Place the appliance on an even, non-slippery and heat resistant surface.
- Place the drip tray (5) underneath the appliance.
- Connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket.
- The red indicator light (2) lights up and the heating process starts.

The waffle maker requires approx. 4-5 minutes to warm up.
- As soon as the necessary temperature is reached the green indicator light (2) lights up as well. Your waffle maker is now ready for operation.
- Open the lid (1) by using the handle (3) and pour approx. a ladle of batter onto the lower plate.
- Close the lid (1) carefully and fold the handle to the side.
- After approx. 10 seconds rotate the appliance by 180^ , in order to distribute the batter evenly.
Tip: To guarantee an even browning process grease both waffle plates with some oil / butter.

Depending on the thickness and content of the waffle batter, the waffle will take between 4 - 6 minutes until ready. Open the waffle maker a bit to see whether your waffle is brown enough. If not, let the waffle bake some more.

To remove your waffle use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damage to the non-stick coating of the plates.

The appliance can only be opened when in original position.
- If you wish to prepare a series of waffles repeat a. m. steps.
- To switch off the appliance, disconnect it from the mains (6).
- Let it completely cool down while opened to full extend.
Note: During operation, an integrated thermostat switches the appliance on and off to ensure a constant temperature. This is indicated by the green indicator light (2) cycling on and off.
Recipes
For a better result!
- Fill batter into waffle maker quickly to produce evenly brown waffles.
- Place waffles on a cake rack to keep them crispy. Stacked waffles get soggy easily.
Belgian Waffles (Gaufres de Liège)
Ingredients:
- 400g wheat flour
- 160ml lukewarm milk
-2 eggs - 150g coarse sugar
- 50g sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 / 2 packet dry yeast
- 100g butter, room temperature
- 1 vanilla bean, core
Preparation:
Combine the wheat flour, dry yeast, salt and sugar, properly. Add the eggs, butter and core of the vanilla bean. Stir in the lukewarm milk until the batter is smooth.
In order for the dough to rise, leave it to rest for approx. 45 minutes.
Before starting the baking process knead in the coarse sugar. Preheat the appliance and bake small
amounts of the batter for approx. 5 - 10 minutes.
Delicious!
If you prefer them with a chocolate icing, just dip half of the waffle into melted chocolate. Yum!
Basic recipe
Ingredients:
80 g butter
60g sugar
3 eggs
3/8 I milk
300g flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
Rum to your taste.

Preparation:
Mix butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs until smooth. Alternatively, add flour/baking powder mix and milk.
Add less milk and some rum instead, according to taste. However, be careful when adding liquid, as batter should not be too thin.
Bake waffles following the above instructions.
Dust with icing sugar before serving.
Vanilla Waffles
Ingredients:
150 g butter or margarine
200 g sugar
4 eggs
Extract of one vanilla bean
Pinch of Table salt
250 g flour
1 levelled teaspoon of baking powder
1-2 tablespoons of condensed milk
icing sugar
Preparation:
Thoroughly mix butter, sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla extract, flour and baking powder for approx. 2 minutes with your hand mixer. Finally, add condensed milk.
Apple Waffles
Ingredients:
150 g butter or margarine
200 g sugar
4 eggs
1/2 level teaspoon of table salt
250 g cornstarch
1 level teaspoon of baking powder
1 level teaspoon of cinnamon
1 pinch of ground cloves
2 minced apples
icing sugar
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients except the apples with a hand mixer for approx. 2 minutes. Then add the minced apples.
Cleaning and Care

Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance, disconnect it from the mains and let it
completely cool down.
Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock!
Clean the appliance and the waffle plates (4) with a moistened soft cloth.
Dry the entire appliance and all parts well after cleaning.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hard objects to clean the appliance.
Do not allow stains to dry. To remove food residues apply some cooking oil on the waffles plates (4) and leave it on for some time. Afterwards, wipe the waffle plates (4) with a moistened soft cloth.
The drip tray (5) can be cleaned in warm water using some dishwashing detergent. The drip tray (5) is not dishwasher safe.
Storage
Disconnect the appliance from the mains after each use and let it completely cool down.
For proper storage fold the handle (3).
Keep the appliance away from children and store it in a clean and dry place.
Disposal Instructions

Waste electrical devices marked with this sign must not be disposed of with your household waste, but are to be collected separately. Therefore, please return this device at the end of its life cycle to special collection points for disposal or your local dealer.
