USER MANUAL SPM 3754 CLATRONIC

Instruction Manual Thank you for choosing our product. We hope you will enjoy using the appliance. Symbols in this Instruction Manual Important information for your safety is specially marked. It is essential to comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage to the appliance:

  • The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not t for commercial use.
  • Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  • Do not operate the appliance without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the appliance off. Remove the plug from the socket.

Designated Use This appliance is intended for cleaning, waxing and pol- ishing closed shoes or boots being worn by the user of the appliance. It is not suitable for open shoes (e.g. sandals). It is intended for domestic use and use of similar areas. It may only be used in the manner described in this instruction manual. The appliance may not be used for commercial purposes. Any other use is considered as not intended and may lead to damage of property or even to personal injury. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage which may occur through incorrect use. Unpacking the Appliance

1. Take the appliance out of its packaging.

2. Remove all the packaging material such as plastic foil,

lling material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.

3. Check that all parts are supplied in the box.

4. In case of incomplete delivery or damage, do not operate

the appliance. Return it to your dealer immediately. NOTE: There may still be dust or production residues on the appliance. We recommend to clean the appliance as described under “Cleaning / Maintenance”. Electric Connection

1. Before inserting the power plug into the outlet, check

that the mains voltage to be used matches that of the appliance. You can nd the required information on the nameplate.

2. Connect the appliance to a properly installed earthed

socket. Short-term Operation Do not operate the appliance for longer than 10 minutes and always allow the appliance to cool down for 5 minutes thereafter. Switching the Appliance On / Off Turn the appliance on and off by using the switch. Filling the Polishing Dispenser

1. Unlock the bracket of the polishing dispenser by pressing

in the centre of the rear surface located on the left side.

2. Remove the bracket by pulling it sideways to the right.

3. Open the closure of the dispenser. Make sure that the

spring and the ball in the closure do not fall out.

4. Fill the dispenser with colourless, liquid shoe polish.

NOTE: Suitable shoe polish is available, e.g., in well-known online mail-order companies.

5. Place the closure, including its ball and spring, on the

dispenser and tighten it.

6. Reattach the bracket to the appliance with the dispenser

in place. To do this, insert the bracket on the right and snap the surface into place on the left. Using the Appliance

1. Press the switch in order to turn the appliance on.

2. Use the middle brush for pre-cleaning, i.e. to remove dirt

and dust from the surface of the shoes.

3. To apply shoe polish to the shoes, gently press the shoe

against the ball located in the closure of the polishing dispenser.

4. Use one of the two brushes on the side for polishing the

shoe. NOTE: Make sure to always use one polishing brush for light and the other one for dark shoes.

5. Use the switch to turn the appliance off.

Cleaning / Maintenance

  • Always pull the plug before cleaning and maintenance.
  • Wait until the appliance has cooled down.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water. It could result in an elec- tric shock or re. CAUTION:
  • Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
  • Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents. Rubber Mat Remove the rubber mat. Then clean it by knocking it out or vacuuming it. In the case of coarse soiling, you may clean it thoroughly in a rinsing bath. Let the rubber mat dry com- pletely before putting it back into the appliance. Bracket, Polishing Dispenser, Closure Clean these components in a rinsing bath. Allow the compo- nents to dry completely before retting them. Housing Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the housing. Replacing the Brushes In order to replace the brushes, proceed as follows:

1. Use a screwdriver

to loosen the screws (see adjacent gure).

2. Slide the brushes off

3. Attach the new brushes by applying the same order in

reverse. Troubleshooting Problem Possible Cause Remedy The appliance is not working. The appliance has no power supply. Check the socket with another appliance. Plug in the mains plug correctly. Check the main circuit breaker. The appliance is defective. Contact our service or a repair centre. The overheating protection has been activated. The motor is too hot. Let the appliance cool down for at least 15 minutes before switching it on again.
