Frequently Asked Questions - MK300 LOGITECH

How to install the Logitech MK300 keyboard and mouse?
Insert the batteries into the keyboard and mouse. Plug the USB receiver into a port on your computer. Turn on the mouse using the switch under the mouse. The keyboard and mouse will connect automatically. For more options, install the Logitech SetPoint software from the provided CD or the Logitech website.
What is the battery life of the keyboard and mouse?
The keyboard can operate for up to 15 months with two AAA batteries. The mouse can operate for up to 8 months with two AAA batteries (duration is reduced with a single battery). These durations vary depending on usage and environment.
How to check the keyboard battery level?
Press the battery level check key (located in the practical functions area). The SetPoint software will then display the keyboard battery level on screen.
How to check the mouse battery status?
You can check the mouse battery status in two ways: 1) Turn the mouse off and then on: the green LED indicates a good level, a red LED means less than 10% charge. 2) Open the SetPoint software and click on the mouse battery tab.
What to do if the keyboard or mouse does not work?
Check the USB receiver connection, try a different USB port. Make sure the batteries are properly installed and the mouse is turned on. Move the devices closer to the receiver and keep it away from sources of interference (metal surfaces, other devices). If necessary, restore the connection by pressing the Connect button on the receiver and then quickly on the devices.
How to customize the keyboard keys?
Install the Logitech SetPoint software. Double-click the Mouse and Keyboard Settings icon in the taskbar. Under the 'My Keyboard' tab, you can reassign the F keys (F1 to F12) and shortcut keys to different tasks (open a program, a folder, a web page, etc.).
How to use the Fn function keys on the keyboard?
Press and hold the Fn key and press an F key (F1 to F12) to trigger the secondary function. For example, Fn+F1 launches the document application, Fn+F5 launches a programmed favorite application, Fn+F9 saves a file, etc. The functions are indicated by the gray icons on the keys.
Does the mouse have a sleep mode?
Yes, the keyboard and mouse automatically enter sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity to save battery. As soon as you use them again, they wake up instantly.
Where can I download the SetPoint software?
The Logitech SetPoint software is provided on the installation CD. You can also download it from the Logitech website (www.logitech.com) in the Downloads section for the MK300 model.
How to clean the keyboard and mouse?
Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use chemicals or solvents. For stubborn dirt, you can dampen the cloth with a little water and mild soap, then wipe. Make sure the devices are turned off before cleaning.

Battery management

Your keyboard has up to 15 months of battery life, and your mouse has up to 8 months. (Note that the mouse can work with only one battery, but with significantly reduced battery life.)*

Battery sleep mode

Did you know that both your keyboard and mouse go into sleep mode after you stop using them for a few minutes? This feature helps limit battery usage. Both devices are up and running immediately once you begin using them again.

How to check the battery level for the keyboard (software required)

Press the Battery Status Check hotkey.

LOGITECH MK300 - How to check the battery level for the keyboard (software required) - 1

The SetPoint Software Keyboard Battery tab pops up. It shows the current battery level of the keyboard.

How to check the battery level for the mouse

Option 1: • Turn the mouse off, and then on using the On/Off slider switch on the bottom of the mouse. Look at the battery LED on the top case. If the LED glows green for 10 seconds, the batteries are good. If the LED blinks red, the battery level has dropped to 10%. (You still have a few days of battery usage left.)

Option 2: • Launch the SetPoint Software, and click the Mouse Battery tab to see the current battery level of the mouse.

Mouse bottom: Switch, LED.

* Battery life varies with usage and computing conditions. Heavy usage usually results in shorter battery life.
