Preparing the underblanket for use
Unpack the heated underblanket 1 and lay it on the bed with the lozenge patterned side against the mattress. The connection 2 must be at the foot end of the bed.
- Check that the connection 2 engages firmly with the connection for the heat regulator 3.
Position the heat regulator 3 conveniently to one side, for example on a bedside table, and pull the flexible woven sections over the edges of the mattress (Fig. A).
Insert the plug on the heat regulator 3 into the power supply socket.
The bedclothes can now pulled over the mattress in the usual manner.
Note: The heated underblanket features different heat zones, specifically a head zone, body zone and foot zone.
The underblanket should thus be placed on the mattress as shown in Fig. A.
Operation
The heat regulator 3 must be connected to the underblanket 1 (connection 2) and the power supply network.
Setting the temperature
Temperature levels from 1 and 6 (approx. 30^ to 55^ ) can be set with the rotary control 3a.
1 - 2 = Low temperature for more prolonged use, suitable for overnight operation.
3 - 4 = Medium temperature, not suitable for overnight use.
5 - 6 = High temperature, suitable for prewarming the bed but not for overnight use.
Note: The underblanket 1 requires sometime to reach the temperature set and to cool down again.
Info: The lamp in the display window 3b is lit as long as the underblanket is heating and goes out when the timer setting (75 min. or 12 hrs.) has expired.
Time presetting functions
The switch 3c can be used to preset operation of the underblanket to 75 min or 12 h, upon which the indicator lamp 3d lights up.
0 The underblanket 1 is switched off, the indicator lamp 3d remains off
75 min Short-term operation, suitable for prewarming the bed.
The underblanket 1 provides heat for 75 minutes at the temperature set (3b), and then switches off automatically.
12 h Overnight operation, suitable for more prolonged use.
The underblanket 1 provides heat for 12 hours at the temperature set (permissible setting for switch 3b is 1 - 2) and then switches off automatically.
Note: A low temperature setting must be used during sleep and in the case of prolonged use (maximum permissible value 2).
Set the switch to O after use.
Info: To switch the underblanket 1 on once again or to change the time setting, first switch the heat regulator 3c to O, and then select the desired timing.
Important:
Never lay the underblanket 1 on a person who is lying down.
Always ensure that the heat regulator 3 is outside the bed, and is not covered.
Cleaning and storage
Always remove the plug from the power socket before cleaning the appliance.
Always disconnect the heat regulator 3 and power cord as shown in Fig. B before washing.
The underblanket 1 may be washed using a mild detergent.
If using a washing machine, select the "Woollen" programme (up to 40^ ) for washing and spinning.
Do not use a steam cleaner!
The underblanket 1 must not be dry cleaned.
The heat regulator 3 and power cord must not be allowed to become wet. Under no circumstances hold them under water, as moisture will damage the heat regulator 3.
Do not use cleansing products or solvents.
To dry, hang on a washing line or place in a dryer, using the "Gentle" program.
After drying, carefully reshape.
Allow to dry thoroughly before use or storage.
Once cool, fold or roll the underblanket 1 loosely, and store in a dry place. Do not fold up too firmly, and avoid placing heavy objects on the underblanket 1.
Tip: Store the heated underblanket 1 in its original packaging.
