Do not use when folded or crumpled! Do not stick in pins! Not suitable for children between 0–3 years! For your safety Please read, follow and retain the operating instructions! When passing on the appliance, enclose these instructions. This appliance is designed for the household or for similar, non-industrial applications. Non-industrial applications include e.g. use in employee rooms in shops, offices, agricultural and other commercial businesses, as well as use by guests in boarding houses, small hotels and similar dwellings. It is not designed for medical use in hospitals and surgeries. Risk of electric shock and risk of fire! Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the speci- fications on the rating plate. To prevent injury, repairs to the appliance, such as replacing a damaged power cord, should be carried out by our customer service only. Children under 3 years of age must not use this heating pad, as they are unable to respond to overheating. Children under 8 years of age must not use the appliance unless a parent or guardian has set the thermostat to the lowest temperature setting. en8 Robert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH This appliance may be used by children aged 8 or over and by people who have reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or inadequate experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the appliance safely and have under- stood the resulting dangers. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervised. Risk of overheating! If the appliance remains switched on for a prolonged period, the setting for continuous operation should be selected with the thermostat. Risk of injury! The heating pad must not be used by persons who are insensitive to heat or by other persons in need of protection who cannot respond to overheating. Pictograms Do not wash! Wash at 40 °C! Do not dry in the tumble dryer! Tumble-dry! Do not iron! Iron at low temperature! Bleaching not permitted! Do not dry-clean! Further safety instructions Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are such signs, if the appliance has been misused or does not work, return it to the supplier before switching it on again. Do not use the appliance if the power cord and/or appliance are damaged. After each use or if a fault occurs, immediately pull out the mains plug. Do not wind the power cord around the thermostat. Do not cover the thermostat! To ensure that the thermostat functions correctly, do not place it on or under the heating pad or cover it with other objects. The appliance emits very weak electrical and magnetic fields which may cause a pacemaker to malfunction. Before you use the appliance, we therefore recommend that you consult your doctor or the manufacturer of the pacemaker. The thermostat with supply line to the appli- ance must be arranged in such a way that there is no risk of strangulation, tripping, etc. Continuous use at a high heat setting may cause skin burns. Ensure that the user does not fall asleep while using the heating pad! Use heating pads in dry rooms only (not in the bathroom, etc.). Never leave the heating pad unattended while it is switched on; switch it off before leaving the room. Do not wrinkle the heating pad! Do not crease the appliance by placing items on top of it during storage. Never use a damp or wet heating pad, wait until it has dried completely. Do not use on animals. Risk of suffocation! Do not let children play with packaging material. enRobert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH 9 Parts and controls Fig. 1 1 Heating pad 2 Fabric cover 3 Thermostat 4 Indicator light Application options The heating pad is designed for use on the following body parts: arms, legs, stomach, shoulder, thigh, calf, etc. Switching on the appliance Put the heating pad (N) in the fabric cover (O). Ensure that the power cord and ther- mostat (P) are situated outside the cover (O). Close the Velcro fastener or zip. Set the required temperature on the ther- mostat (P). Important: For continuous operation it is recommended to position the thermostat on the first setting. Fig. 2 When the temperature is set on the thermostat (P), the heating pad switches on and the indi- cator light (Q) comes on. Fig. 3 If the thermostat (P) is set to position “0”, the heating pad switches off and the indicator light (Q) goes out. Automatic switch-off To prevent unsupervised operation, the heating pad automatically switches off after approx. 90 minutes continuous operation. The indicator light flashes. To switch on the heating pad again, first set the thermostat to “0” and then to the required temperature. After use, pull out the mains plug. Cleaning, storage The fabric cover is machine-washable, see the attached care symbols. Before washing the cover, always remove the heating pad. The heating pad must not be washed in the washing machine or dry-cleaned. Clean heating pad with a moist sponge. The thermostat must not become wet. Never hold under water. Moisture damages the thermostat. When drying the appliance, arrange the cable in such a way that water cannot run into the thermostat. Do not use detergents or solvents. These may damage the appliance. When storing the appliance, allow it to cool down before folding. Store the heating pad in a dry location. Important! To prevent creasing the heating pad, do not place any objects on it. Technical specifications
