INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE - Original instructions Type 513.01 - Hood Dryer with Ion-Generator Please read these operating instructions carefully as they include valuable advice on safety and how to use the appliance. Look after these operating instructions carefully. Available also on www.valera.com

  • Important: In order to guarantee additional protection, it is recommended that a differential breaker with an intervention current not greater than 30 mA is installed in the electrical system which powers the appliance. For further information, contact a qualified electrician.
  • Make sure the appliance is perfectly dry before use
  • WARNING: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
  • This appliance can be used by children of 8 years and over, and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or who lack the relevant experience and knowledge, provided they are suitably supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and made aware of the associated risks.
  • Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
  • Children must not perform cleaning and maintenance procedures without supervision.
  • Do not use the appliance if it is not working properly. Do not try to repair this electrical appliance yourself, contact an authorized technician instead. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
  • Do not put the appliance down where it could fall into water or other liquids.
  • Do not try to pull any electrical appliance out when it has fallen into water – disconnect the plug from the power socket immediately.
  • Always switch the appliance off before putting it down.
  • After use always switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the power socket. Do not pull on the wire to remove the plug from the power socket.
  • Do not pull the plug out of the power socket with wet hands.
  • When using the appliance make sure the air intake and exhaust grilles are never obstructed. (fig.1)
  • Before wearing and using the appliance, check that the air channels in the hood are correctly positioned and are not bent or twisted. (fig.1)
  • Always allow the appliance to cool before putting it away and never wrap the cord around it.
  • The elements used to pack the appliance (plastic bags, cardboard box, etc.) must be kept out of reach of children as they are a potential hazard.
  • The appliance must only be used for the purposes for which it is expressly intended. Any other use is to be considered improper and therefore dangerous. The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for damage or injury deriving from improper or incorrect use.
  • Do not use hair spray while the appliance is running.
  • Do not remove the appliance from the head while it is switched on: always set the switch to 0 first.

Important This appliance conforms to the safety regulations regarding electrical appliances. This appliance has a safety cut-out which will operate in case of overheating. The dryer will re-set itself after being left to cool for a few minutes, but please check air inlet and outlet grills are perfectly clean before continuing to use the dryer.

It produces a flow of negative ions that promotes healthy hair, has a restorative effect and makes your hair softer and more manageable, with greater volume and shine. Negatively charged ions help to reduce static electricity, “fly away” hair and unwanted frizziness.

1. Wash your hair and towel-dry it before using the appliance.

2. Put your hair in rollers as you usually do.

3. Plug in the appliance to the power socket.

4. Simply suspend the appliance from the neck strap (with the switches and the power cord on the Ieft).

5. Put the hood on your head. The small air outlets in the hood should face the inside.

6. Connect the hood by fitting the elastic hose on the blower outlet. (fig. 2)

7. To work and inflate correctly, the hood must not support the weight of the blower; adjust the length of the neck

strap as required. (fig. 3)

8. To dry your hair set the switch to 1 or 2. After drying, set the switch to “C” (COOL) for 1 or 2 minutes to allow

the curls to hold better.

9. Switch off the appliance by setting the switch to 0.

10. Finally, remove the hood from your head.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always remove the plug from the power socket before beginning to clean the unit! Allow the appliance and the accessories to cool down before cleaning. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth, but never immerse it in water or any other liquid! Remove and clean the accessories used. This appliance conforms to European Directives 2014/30/EU, 2014/35/EU, 2011/65/EC, 2015/863/EU, 2009/125/EC and Regulation (EC) no. 1275/2008.

GUARANTEE VALERA guarantees the appliance you have bought at following conditions:

1. The guarantee conditions for this appliance are as defined by our dealer in the country of sale. In Switzerland

and the countries of the European Union, the warranty period is 24 months if the final purchaser is a private person (domestic use) and 12 months if the final purchaser is a company or business or professional (professional use). The guarantee period starts from the date of purchase as stated on the present guarantee card regularly filled out and stamped by the dealer or on the sale’s invoice.

2. The guarantee is applicable only against submission of the present guarantee card or the sale’s invoice.

3. The guarantee covers the elimination of all defects arisen during the guarantee period resulting from proven

faults in material or workmanship. The elimination of the defects will be made either by repairing the appliance or exchanging it. The guarantee does not cover any damage arising from incorrect connection to the power supply, improper use, breakage, normal wear and non-compliance with the Instructions for Use.

4. All other claims of any nature, including those for eventual damages outside of the appliance, are excluded,

unless our liability is legally mandatory.

5. The guarantee service is carried out free of charge; it does not affect the expiry date of the guarantee.

6. The guarantee becomes void if repairs are undertaken by unauthorized persons.
