1.1. CLAMPS G72 Detachable arm. Fixed arm. Special 4-point plug. Trigger. Shielded cord. Guard. Arrow identify- ing the direction of the current.13 Current clamps are used to measure the current owing in a cable without opening the circuit. They also insulate the user from dangerous voltages in the circuit. The G72 clamp can measure AC leakage currents up to 50A, at the usual industrial frequencies. It is based on the current transformer principle. Its ergonomic shape and small size make it ideal for measurements in electrical cabinets, distribution frames, and cable assemblies. 1.2. DELIVERY CONDITION The clamp is supplied in a cardboard box with : a Velcro fastener, a user manual in 5 languages, a verication certicate.
Connect the clamp to the current input of the tester. Press the trigger on the clamp to open the jaws. G72
Then clamp the cable that is to be measured. Where possible, the cable should be centred in the jaws of the clamp. The arrow on the housing should point in the expected direction of current ow. Release the trigger and make sure that the jaws have closed correctly. For details of the measurement conguration and technical characteristics, re- fer to the user manual of the tester with which you are using the current sensor.14
