- Never point the laser beam towards people or animals.
- Never use the laser beam on very reflective materials. There is a risk posed by the reflected light.
- Have repairs to the laser projector carried out by specialists only.
- Do not introduce hard objects into the laser optic (13).
- Clean the laser optic with a soft, dry brush. 7 – Installation and setting Electronic stroke rate control/stroke rate pre-selection function To saw according to the material type, use the adjustment wheel (2) to set a suitable stroke rate 1–6 (0–3000 min
) and control using the On/Off switch (1). The adjustment wheel also serves to implement stepless adjustments of the stroke rate during operation. Pendulum The adjustable pendulum movement (P) of the saw blade (0 for hard materials, up to 3 for soft materials) improves the adjustment of the machine to the material being processed. And at the same time, it reduces wear on the saw blade, improves the rejection of shavings and considerably reduces the formation of heat caused by friction. The activation of the pendulum function may also be carried out when the machine is already running. Recommendations regarding the machine settings can be found on Figure 4. Inserting the saw blade (Figure 2) CAUTION! Disconnect the power before each change of saw blade! Turn and hold the ring of the saw blade holder (A) in the (a) direction. Insert a saw blade into the holder as far as it will go, or remove an existing one. Release the ring. Slot the saw blade into the groove and push it in as far as it will go, ensuring that the spine fits well into the groove of the guide roll. The ring returns to position (b) and locks the saw blade in place. Parallel stopper The supplied parallel stopper is pushed through the accommodation point on the saw shoe and fixed using two screws (Figure 1). The parallel stopper enables parallel cuts along a stopper edge. Dust removal The extraction hose of the household vacuum should be fitted to the extraction opening (7) on the jigsaw or to the supplied adapter (2). The drawn down cutting protection element (6) will improve the efficiency of the dust removal process. Mitre/bevelled cuts The saw shoe (10) is set to the middle position (O°) when the machine leaves the factory. To set it for mitre or bevelled 5453380-Pendelhub-man 06.02.14 07:48 Seite 3536 cuts, loosen the holding screw of the shoe with the adjustment wrench (Figure 3) and push the shoe forwards from the rest position. Set the cutting angle (8) by turning the to the right or left. The angles 0°, 15°, 30° and 45° are marked but intermediate values may also be selected. Tighten the holding screw up again. When carrying out cuts at an angle, push the cutting protection element (6) up as far as it will go. 8 – Operation Insert mains plug into an outlet
- ON: Press switch (1) and hold.
- OFF: Release switch (1).
- Continuous operation ON: Press switch (1), actuate lock knob (2) and lock in place.
- Continuous operation OFF: Press switch (1) again - lock knob jumps out of locking device and release. 9 – Mode of operation Sawing Do not force the saw; this causes the saw blade to overheat and bend and/or break. If material to be cut is thin, place it on an additional board/plate to dampen vibrations and improve cutting. Drop sawing If the workpiece is to be sawn in the middle and holes cannot be bored in it, set the oscillation to 0, loosen the footplate, push it back and lock it. Hold the machine at an angle and carefully allow the blade to slide on to the workpiece (Fig. 5). As soon as the workpiece is sawn through, continue working with the machine in the normal position. Laser projector The beam from the laser projector makes it easier to carry out straight cuts a) along a pre-drawn cutting line on the work piece b) or by pointing it at a marked fixed point on the work piece. The range of the beam is approximately 65 cm, depending on the ambient lighting. The laser projector is switched on/off as required using the On/Off switch (14). 10 – Maintenance and environmental protection Regularly dust sawdust off housings, ventilation openings and movable parts. Where applicable, wipe off with a damp cloth. Do not drop electrical machines in water. Apply a light coat off oil to saw blade guide roller from time to time. Use a fine brush to remove sawdust from the laser optic. Do not introduce pointed objects into the optic. CAUTION! Electrical and battery operated units that no longer work should not be disposed of in the household waste! They are to be collected separately, in accordance with the 2012/19 EU directive for the disposal of electrical and electronic 5453380-Pendelhub-man 06.02.14 07:48 Seite 3637 waste, and sent for proper and environ - mentally-friendly recycling.
