How to install the Carmen CEB01WH heating blanket?

Spread the blanket evenly over the mattress starting from the foot of the bed. Secure it with the elastic straps at the mattress corners. Connect the switch to the blanket, then plug into a power outlet. Place a fitted sheet over it.

Can I machine wash the blanket?

Yes, the blanket can be machine washed at a maximum of 30 °C, very gentle program. Use a delicate detergent. Warning: do not wash it more than 5 times in total. Never machine dry, iron, or dry clean it.

Is the blanket safe for children?

It should not be used by children aged 0 to 3 years. For children over 3 years, the control must be preset by an adult and the child must be informed of its safe use.

What to do if the blanket no longer heats?

Check that the switch is properly connected and that the outlet works. If the problem persists, the safety system may have deactivated the device. Do not attempt to repair it yourself; contact the manufacturer or an authorized service.

Can I use the blanket on an adjustable bed?

Yes, but make sure the blanket and cables are not pinched in the hinges or bed mechanisms.

How to adjust the temperature?

Use the sliding button on the switch: position 0 to turn off, position 1 for minimum heat, position 2 for maximum heat. The indicator light turns on when the device is operating.

Can I use the blanket with a pacemaker?

The electric and magnetic fields are weak, but consult your doctor and pacemaker manufacturer before use.

How to maintain the switch?

• This heated underblanket must not be used by people who are not sensitive to heat or by vulnerable people who may not be able to react to overheating (e.g. diabetics, persons with skin changes related to illness or persons with scarred skin in the area where the pad is to be applied, after taking any pain relieving medication or alcohol).
• If the appliance is slept on with the control set to a higher temperature the user may suffer skin burns or heat stroke.
• This heated underblanket may not be used for very young children under the age of three (0-3) due to their inability to react to overheating.
• The appliance is not to be used by young children over the age of 3 unless the control has been pre-set by a parent or guardian, and unless the child has been adequately instructed on how to operate the control safely.
• This heated underblanket can be used by older children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

- The electrical and magnetic fields emitted by this heated underblanket may interfere with the function of a pacemaker. However, they are still well within the limits: electrical field strength: max. 5000 V/m, magnetic field strength: max. 80 A/m, magnetic flux density: max. 0.1 millitesla. Please consult your doctor and the manufacturer of your pacemaker before using this heated underblanket.

- Do not pull, twist or make any sharp kinks in the cables.

- If they are not positioned properly, there may be a risk of becoming entangled in, being strangled by, tripping over, or stepping on the cable and control of the heated underblanket. The user must ensure that excess lengths of cable, and cables in general, are safely routed.

- This heated underblanket must be examined frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are such signs, if the heated underblanket has been misused or does not work, return it to the supplier before switching it on again.

- Under no circumstances should you open or repair the device yourself, as faultless functionality can no longer be guaranteed thereafter. Failure to adhere to this instruction will void the warranty.

- The appliance may not be used with an external timer or a separate remote control.

- If the mains connection cable of this device is damaged, it must be disposed of. If it cannot be removed, the device must be disposed of.

- When this heated underblanket is switched on:

CAUTION!

The electric underblanket is only intended for heating beds.

Operation

Safety

CAUTION!

• The electric underblanket has been provided with a SAFETY SYSTEM. This sensor technology prevents overheating of the electric underblanket on the entire surface through automatic deactivation in case of a breakdown. When the SAFETY SYSTEM has switched off the electric underblanket, the temperature levels in activated condition are no longer lighted.
• Do note that for reasons of safety the electric underblanket can no longer be used after a breakdown and should be sent to the indicated service address.
• Never connect the faulty electric underblanket to a different switch of the same type. This would also ensure a final deactivation through the safety system in the switch.

Use

• Evenly spread the electric underblanket over your mattress, starting at the foot end. Fasten the electric blanket with the elastic bands around the corners of the mattress. Approximately, the cord should be at shoulder height. The electric underblanket can be used on both sides.
• First connect the switch to the connection point in the blanket by connecting the plug.
• Then insert the plug in the socket.
• Then, as usual, lay the fitted sheet over the bed, so that the electric underblanket is between the mattress and the fitted sheet. Each time you make the bed, check that the electric underblanket is flat and properly spread, before you switch it on.

CAUTION!

Make sure the electric underblanket is spread out fully flat and does not fold or crumple during use. We recommend switching on the electric underblanket about 15 minutes before you go to sleep and covering it with a duvet to prevent the heat from escaping.

Switching on

Slide the position button from position 0 to position 1 or 2 to switch on the electric underblanket. In activated condition, the indication light is illuminated.

Setting the heating position

Position 0: OFF

Position 1: minimum heating

Position 2: maximum heating

ATTENTION

- The electric underblanket heats up the fastest when you first switch on the highest temperature level.

WARNING:

If the electric underblanket is used for several hours, we recommend setting the lowest heating position (position 1) to prevent the user from overheating and thereby any potential burns to the skin or heat stroke.

Switching off

Slide the position button to position 0 to switch off the electric underblanket. The indication light is no longer illuminated.

ATTENTION

If the electric underblanket is not used for a number of days, slide the position button downwards to switch off the electric blanket and remove the plug from the socket. Then disconnect the switch from the electric underblanket by removing the plug.

Cleaning and maintenance

WARNING

Always remove the supply plug from the mains outlet and remove the control from the electric underblanket by disconnecting it at the connector. Otherwise there is a risk of an electric shock.

CAUTION!

The switch may never come into contact with water or other liquids. It could get damaged as a result.

• Use a dry lint-free cloth for cleaning the switch. Do not use chemical cleaning agents or abrasives.
• Small stains on the electric blanket can be removed with a cloth or a damp sponge and, if necessary, a little bit of gentle detergent liquid.

CAUTION!

The electric underblanket should not be dry cleaned, spun, dried in the machine, mangled or ironed. Otherwise the electric underblanket could get damaged.

• In case of a stronger level of contamination, the electric underblanket can be washed in the washing machine.
• Set the washing machine to a 30^ programme (maximum washing temperature 30^ , very mild process). Out of environmental considerations, we recommend washing the electric underblanket at the same time as other items. Use a gentle detergent in accordance with the manufacturer's dosing instructions.

CAUTION!

Please note, the electric underblanket will wear if washed too often. For that reason, the electric underblanket may be machine-washed for a maximum of 5 times during its lifetime.

- Immediately after washing, pull the electric underblanket in its original size and form while still wet, and leave it lying flat on a drying rack.

CAUTION!

• Do not use pegs or other clamps to attach the electric blanket to the drying rack. Otherwise the electric underblanket could get damaged.
- Only connect the switch to the electric underblanket when the plug connection and underblanket are fully dry. Otherwise the electric underblanket could get damaged.

WARNING

Never switch on the electric underblanket in order to dry it in this way! You will run the risk of an electric shock.

Storing

If you do not use the electric underblanket for a longer period of time, we recommend storing it in its original packaging. For this, remove the plug of the switch from the connection of the electric underblanket.

CAUTION!

• Please allow the electric underblanket to cool down first. Otherwise, the electric underblanket may be damaged.
• To avoid sharp folds in the electric underblanket, do not place any objects on top of it while it is being stored.

Recycling

This symbol means that this product should not be disposed of with regular household waste (2012/19/EU). Observe the rules that apply in your country for the separated collection of electric and electronic products. Correct disposal of the product prevents negative consequences for the environment and for public health. The packaging material of this product can be recycled 100%, return packaging material separately.
