2.1 Items supplied and packaging

Please check first of all that the unit is complete and is not damaged in any way. Ifin doubt, do not use the appliance. Send it to a service point.The following parts are included:

If you notice any transport damage during unpacking,please contact your dealer without delay. WARNING Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from thereach of children! You can use the MEDISANA Double Size Heated Underblanket HU 660 to gently warm and relax your whole body. Using the blanket stimulates the circulation inareas of tense muscle and promotes a sense of well being after a strenuous day.The Double Size Heated Underblanket provides a pleasantly warm bed andfeatures two independently controllable warming zones, allowing you to relax andget to sleep quickly. Spread the blanket out flat on top of the mattress and fit a sheetover it. When using the blanket, you must make sure that it does not get creased,folded or rucked up. The blanket may only be used when it is spread out flat. TheDouble Size Heated Underblanket is equipped with 2 electric temperature controlunits (one unit per warming zone), which regulate the temperature according to thechosen setting.Make sure, that the connection cables of the control units are properly connectedto the plugs of the heated underblanket. The connecting plugs are located in the leftand right corners of the printed top side. Plug the unit into the mains outlet and move the slider control of each control unit from position 0 to position 1. The power LED will light up in green firstly, then will beep 3 times and then flash in green,before the LED will change to orange colour (=warm up phase). After reaching thedesired temperature level, the LED will light up in green. After a few minutes youwill be able to feel the blanket getting noticeably warmer. If you require a higher temperature setting, move the switch to the next positions 2 or 3 or the maximum heat setting, position 4. If the heated underblanket gets too hot for you, move theslider back to position 3, 2 or 1. After a short time, the device will cool down. Afterreaching the desired temperature level, the unit will reheat in irregular intervals(LED will change from green to orange and back to green). The Double Size Heated Underblanket will switch off automatically after approx. 120 minutes of continuous use. To switch it back on again, move the slider switch to position 0 and then back to the desired heat set- ting. This unit is equipped with the active protection system APS TECH. The unit detectsdifferent causes of errors and emits corresponding alarm sounds if necessary. Inthe case of an error, the power LED will light up in red. 3 beeps in 1-second interval and power LED lights up in red:A connection cable of a control unit is not properly connected to the blanket oranother electrical defect is present. Please check the cable connections. Are thecables connected properly, please do not use the item and contact the servicecenter. Constant beeping and power LED lights up in red:Check first, if the the desired switching position has been adjusted correctly. Impor-tant components are damaged or there is a short circuit. Please do not use the hea-ted underblanket and contact the service center. If there is no function at all after switching on the item (power LED shows no light and no beeps can be heard), please check if the mains plug is correctly plug-ged in the mains outlet. If this is the case, the blanket is defect. Please do not usethe Double Size Heated Underblanket and contact the service center.

3.2 Cleaning and maintenance

• Before cleaning the Double Size Heated Underblanket, unplug it from the mainsoutlet and let it cool down for at least ten minutes. • The blanket is equipped with two removable control units. Unplug the controlunits from the Double Size Heated Underblanket by pulling out the respectiveconnection cable from each plug. • The Double Size Heated Underblanket can be cleaned with a soft brush when dry.• The Double Size Heated Underblanket may be carefully washed by hand.Ideally you should place the heated underblanket in a bathtub with warm waterand a little mild detergent and squeeze it gently. • Rinse the blanket several times to get rid of any remaining detergent. • Never use strong detergents or hard brushes. • To dry, lay the blanket flat on a moisture-absorbent towel or mat. • Only use the blanket again once it is completely dry. • Reconnect the control units to the blanket in the correct manner (please see the sketch, the arrow markings are showing towards each other).• You should untangle the cables from time to time.• Let the Double Size Heated Underblanket cool down completely before foldingand storing it.
