Dear Customer,
Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by those familiar with the instructions below.
Important safety instructions
Danger to certain categories of persons
There is an increased risk of injury for children and for people with reduced capabilities:
- The appliance may only be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
- Children must not be permitted to operate the appliance. The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children.
• Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
Risk of electric shock
The device is powered by electricity, and so there is always a risk of electric shock. The following precautions are therefore to be taken:
- Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- The appliance should only be connected to a socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label.
- Always remove the plug from the wall socket
- before assembling or disassembling the appliance,
- after use,
- in case of any malfunction,
- when there is no supervision,
- before cleaning the appliance.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
- Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
- Do not clean the housing with liquids or immerse it.
Danger from blades and moving parts
There is a risk of serious injury from blades and other moving parts:
• Take special care not to touch the blades while cleaning or changing the blade inserts.
- Do not wear long chains, earrings, scarves or shawls, clothes with long and/or wide sleeves, or long, loose hair when operating the appliance.
- Do not put fingers into the feeder chute, and do not insert any other objects.
- Do not put your hands underneath or near the output area of the attachments.
- Wait until all parts have come to a complete standstill before removing the feeder chute or container.
- Ensure that the food attached to the spiral attachment does not protrude from the chute.
Lack of hygiene
Lack of hygiene may result in germs forming inside the appliance:
- Clean the appliance thoroughly before using it for the first time, and also after each cycle of use.
• Always ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the mains before cleaning.
- For detailed information on cleaning the appliance, please refer to the section Cleaning and care.
Danger of damage to the unit
Incorrect handling of the appliance can cause damage:
• Always place the unit on a dry, level, non-slip surface, which is impervious to contact with the rubber feet.
- Do not let the power cord hang free.
- Do not kink or pinch the power cord. Keep both the cord and the appliance itself well away from heat sources (eg hot-plates, gas flames).
Proper use
- This appliance must only be used for making spirals from raw ingredients such as apple, pear, cucumber, potato, carrot, parsnip, radish, beetroot, sweet potato (yam), courgette (zucchini), or for cutting strips or slices from raw, fi rm vegetables and fruit.
- Caution: The appliance is not designed to process hard food items such as nuts or ice cubes.
- Any use other than that described in these instructions must be considered improper and may lead to personal injury or material damage.
• This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as
- in staff kitchens in shops, offices and other similar working environments,
- in agricultural working environments,
- by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar accommodation,
- in bed-and breakfast type environments.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected.
- Caution: Any misuse can cause severe personal injury.
In case of a defective appliance
A defective appliance can cause material damage and injury:
- Check the appliance and blade inserts for damage before every use. Do not operate if the appliance or a blade insert shows any sign of damage.
- In the event that you detect damage, please contact our customer service department by phone or email (see appendix).
- Repairs to this appliance or its power cord must only be carried out by our customer service.

Short-time operation
The appliance is designed for short-term operation only, i.e. it should not be operated continuously for more than 10 minutes. Allow it to cool down for another 30 minutes, after which it may be used again.
Blade inserts
This appliance comes with fi ve different blade inserts for various applications:
I 'Spaghetti' for 5 mm spirals
II 'Tagliatelle' for 9 mm spirals
III 'Capellini' for 3 mm spirals
IV 'Pappardelle' for 35 mm spirals
V 'Fusilli Lunghi' for 24 mm spirals
Tip! When using the 'Pappardelle' ( ) or 'Fusilli lunghi' blade inserts ,make sure that the food items are thick enough - thin carrots, for instance, are not really suitable.
Note: The 'Fusilli lunghi' blade insert must be used together with the spiral attachment. Food items with a diameter exceeding 55 mm cannot be processed.
To achieve optimum results, we recommend replacing the blade inserts as soon as they start producing uneven or unsightly spirals.
Spiral and cutting attachments
The appliance features a spiral attachment with a vertical feeder tube for making long spirals, and a cutting attachment with a slanting feeder tube for cutting slices or short strips.
A summary table showing the various areas of application of the blade inserts and attachments can be found at the end of this manual.
Cable storage compartment
There is a cable storage compartment at the rear of the appliance. Pull out the cord to the required length before use.
Before using for the first time
Before using the appliance for the first time, remove any remaining packaging materials and stickers, and clean the appliance as described in the Cleaning and care section.
Operation
Before use, select the required blade insert and attachment (see summary table at the end of this manual).
Spiral attachment
- Caution: Please take careful note of the diagrams at the beginning of the manual before operating the appliance.
- Clean the food and cut it into pieces no longer than 15 cm.
- Tip: Always cut the food in such a way that there is a fl at surface to attach to the food holder on the spiral attachment pestle.
• Fit the collection container into the appliance.
- Fit the gear-wheel insert into the housing.
- Select the desired blade insert and fit it into the gear-wheel insert.
- Fit the spiral attachment and turn clockwise until it is heard locking into place (💡)
- Take a prepared food item and attach its flat surface to the end of the pestle (diagrams I & II).
- Insert the pestle with the food into the feeder chute. Always hold the food fi rmly in place until it actually touches the blade insert (diagram III).
- Turn the appliance on and guide the pestle slowly downwards, without applying much pressure (diagram IV).
- Tip: Should a piece of food become separated from the pestle, switch the appliance off and disconnect it from the mains. Then take off the spiral attachment, remove the detached food and re-attach it to the pestle.
• The processed food is collected inside the container.
• Take out the pestle and attach a new piece of food, if desired.
- For technical reasons, a small piece if food will remain on the pestle. Remove this and use it another time.
- Tip: For best results the blade insert should be cleaned between cycles, but at least each time the appliance is switched off.
- Switch the appliance off and disconnect it from the mains.
Cutting attachment
- Clean the food.
• Fit the collection container into the appliance.
• Fit the gear-wheel insert into the housing. - Select one of the blade inserts ① - ④ and fit it into the gear-wheel insert.
- Fit the cutting attachment so that the feeder tube points towards the front, and secure it by turning clockwise (☐) until it is heard locking into place.
- Put one or more of the prepared food items into the feeder tube. The tube can be filled completely.
- Turn the appliance on and guide the cutting attachment pestle slowly downwards, without applying much pressure. Make sure that the ridge on the pestle fits into the guide groove in the feeder tube.
• The processed food is collected inside the container.
- Take out the pestle and, if required, put in more food. - Switch the appliance off and disconnect it from the mains.
- Tip: For best results the blade insert should be cleaned between cycles, but at least each time the appliance is switched off.
After use
• The appliance should be thoroughly cleaned after each use (see Cleaning and care).
- Empty the container.
• Take out the pestle.
- Remove the attachment by turning anti-clockwise ( ).
- Remove the blade and gear-wheel inserts.

Cleaning and care
• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains before cleaning.
- Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the housing with liquids and do not immerse it.
- The housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
- All detachable parts (see After use) may be cleaned using hot water and a mild detergent, or in a dishwasher.
- Caution: The blades are very sharp. Always use the cleaning brush provided.
Disposal

Devices marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from your household waste, as they contain valuable materials which can be recycled. Proper disposal protects the
environment and human health. Your local authority or retailer can provide information on the matter.
Guarantee
This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.
This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
