How to change the round brushes?

Simply pull the brush to remove it, then insert the new brush onto the device. Do not press the release button when changing.

What do the switch positions mean?

The positions are: 0 (Off), I (medium power), II (maximum power) and ※ (cold air flow to cool and set curls).

How to use the cold air flow?

After wrapping a strand and applying hot air, use the cold air flow (※ position) for a few seconds to set the curl by cooling the hair.

Can I use the device on wet hair?

It is recommended to use the device on dry or slightly damp hair. Avoid using on very wet hair to prevent burns and damage.

How to clean the device?

Unplug and let cool. Wipe the housing with a dry lint-free cloth. Remove hair from the brushes and check that the air grilles are not blocked. Never immerse in water.

What to do if the device turns off during use?

The thermal cut-out has triggered due to overheating. Unplug the device, let it cool, and check that the air inlet/outlet grilles are not blocked by hair or dust.

Is the device suitable for synthetic wigs?

No, do not use on hairpieces or synthetic wigs as heat can damage them.

How to avoid burns during use?

Only touch the device housing, keep the hot brush away from the scalp, and do not use near a bathtub or water source. Supervise the device while in use.

Where can I get the device repaired?

Send the device to a SEVERIN authorized service center (list in the manual appendix) or contact customer service. Do not open the device yourself.

What is the warranty period?

The warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase, covering material defects and manufacturing faults. It does not cover normal wear, breakable parts (glass, bulbs) or damage due to misuse.

F Mode d'emploi

Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations.

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance.

Models with dual-voltage selector:

Models equipped with a dual voltage switch can be set to different supply voltages by using a coin or a similar object. Make sure that the set voltage corresponds with the supply voltage.

This product complies with the directives which are binding for the CE-labelling.

Important safety instructions

Caution! Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming-pool, over a washbasin

fi lled with water or any other receptacle containing water.
There is always a risk when the appliance is operated near water even when it is switched off. Therefore, if the appliance is being used in a bathroom always remove the plug from the wall socket after use.
Additional protection is offered by fitting an earth-leakage circuit-breaker with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30mA into your bathroom installation. Please consult a qualified electrician.
- Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not operate it with wet hands.
This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved. Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised.
Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
Caution: keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.
Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the housing. Burns can occur from touching the hot parts.
Do not use the appliance on synthetic hair-pieces or wigs. The heat emitted might cause damage to the synthetic fi bres.
Make sure the air intake and outlet openings are not blocked by fingers or hair and that no lint particles are allowed to accumulate in the air intake. The thermal cut-out will otherwise operate to switch the appliance off. If this does occur, remove the plug from the socket and clear the blockage. Once the appliance has cooled

down, it may be switched on again.

Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
To prevent damage to the power cord, -do not bend or kink the cable, especially where it leaves the housing,
- do not pull on the cord,
- do not coil the power cord around the appliance.

• Do not place the appliance on any surface sensitive to heat during or immediately after use.

• Do not operate the appliance if it is stored on the hanging loop.
  Make sure that the hot round brush is kept well away from the scalp.
  When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.

Operation

Changing the round brush

The round brushes can be changed by simply pulling the brush off and sliding the other one on.

Caution: Do not press the curl release button

while changing a brush.

Switch positions

The appliance is equipped with a 4-position switch allowing for various settings:

Use

• The round brush is designed for shaping the hair. To achieve this, the hair should be divided into single strands (not too thick) and then spread evenly over the brush, turning them inwards or outwards as desired.
• Apply for a few seconds at a time only, while letting the hot air take effect on the hair.
• To fix a particular strand of hair, use the cool-setting for a few seconds afterwards.
• Press the curl release button to roll the brush out of the strands of hair.
• Let the hair cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.

General cleaning and care

Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.

• If necessary, the housing may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
• After use, remove loose hair from the attachment used.
• Always check the air intake openings for accumulated lint particles or hair and remove any found.

Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.

Guarantee

This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.

This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return.
