Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.
Connection to the mains supply
The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations.
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance.
This product complies with the directives which are binding for the CE-labelling.

Important safety instructions
Caution! Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming-pool, over a washbasin filled with water or any other receptacle containing water.
- There is always a risk when the appliance is operated near water even when it is switched off. Therefore, if the appliance is being used in a bathroom always remove the plug from the wall socket after use.
• Additional protection is offered by fitting an earth-leakage circuit-breaker with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30 mA into your bathroom installation. Please consult a qualified electrician.
- In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please contact our customer service department by telephone or email (see appendix).
• Always place the appliance on a firm, heat-resistant and level surface.
• To avoid any risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with liquids or immerse it in a liquid. - Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- Do not leave the appliance without supervision while it is connected to the mains.
- Caution: Danger of burns. Keep the appliance away from small children during
use and while it is cooling down.
- This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
• Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised.
• Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.
Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the housing. Burns can occur from touching the hot parts.
- Do not use the appliance on synthetic hair-pieces or wigs. The heat emitted might cause damage to the synthetic fibres.
• Make sure the air intake and outlet openings are not blocked by fingers or hair. Remove lint particles or hair on a regular base.
- If the air intake and outlet openings are blocked, the thermal cut-out will switch the appliance off. If this does occur, remove the plug from the socket and clear the blockage. Once the appliance has cooled down, it may be switched on again.
- Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not operate it with wet hands.
- To prevent damage to the power cord, - do not bend or kink the cable, especially where it leaves the housing, - do not pull on the cord,
- do not coil the power cord around the appliance.
• Make sure that the hot round brush is kept well away from the scalp.
- Always switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket
- after use, as well as - in cases of malfunction, and - before changing any attachment.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
- No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
• This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as
- in shops, offices and other similar working environments, - in agricultural areas, - by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar establishments, - in bed-and breakfast type environments.
Operation
Switch positions
The appliance is equipped with a 3-position switch allowing for various settings:

Use
- The round brush is designed for shaping the hair. To achieve this, the hair should be divided into single strands (not too thick) and then spread evenly over the brush, turning them inwards or outwards as desired.
- Apply for a few seconds at a time only, while letting the hot air take effect on the hair.
- To retract the bristles, press and hold the bristle retract button. The bristles are now being retracted into the brush. Afterwards, the brush can be easily separated from the hair while the curl stays in shape.
- Let the hair cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.
Cleaning and care
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
• To avoid any risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with liquids or immerse it in a liquid. - If necessary, the housing may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
- Remove any loose hair from the brush after use.
• Always check the air intake openings for accumulated lint particles or hair and remove any found.

Guarantee
This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.
This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
