Important safety instructions
■ Caution: do not use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming-pool, over a washbasin filled

with water or near any other receptacle containing water. Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not operate it with wet hands.
In the vicinity of any water source, there is a risk even when the appliance is switched off. Therefore, always remove the plug from the wall socket after use, especially if the appliance is being used in a bathroom.
For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the
electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the grip and finger-guard. Otherwise there is a real risk of burns.
■ The appliance becomes hot during use. To prevent burns, ensure that the curler is kept well away from the scalp.
- Do not use the appliance on synthetic hairpieces or wigs, as the heat emitted might cause damage to the synthetic fibres.
■ Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachments fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. If the appliance, for instance, has been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on its operational safety.
■ The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.
■ Do not place the curler on any surface sensitive to heat during or immediately after use.
■ Do not fit or change any attachment unless the appliance has been disconnected from the mains and has cooled down sufficiently.
■ Do not leave the appliance unattended while switched on.
■ Always remove the plug from the wall socket
- after use,
- in case of any malfunction,
- before cleaning the appliance.
■ When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
■ Do not coil the power cord around the appliance.
■ This appliance is not intended for use by any persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
■ Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.

Switch positions
The appliance is equipped with a 3-position switch allowing for the following settings:
Functions:
0 = Off
1 = Half power
2 = Full power
Operation
Make sure the appliance is used on dry hair only.
- Insert the plug into a wall socket.
- Turn the curler on. The indicator light comes on.
- Let the curler heat up for approximately 5 minutes.
- Divide the hair into separate strands, grip the end of a strand with the clamp and curl it up to the hairline.
The integrated swivel makes it easy to use the curler in this way.
- Hold the hair curled up for a few seconds,
then open the clamp, hold the curl and remove the curler gently from the hair by turning it.
■ Make sure the hot parts of the curler are kept away from the scalp.
- Let the hair cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.
- Switch the appliance off after use. When the indicator light goes out, remove the plug from the wall socket.
Round brush attachment
To use the round brush, it must be fitted over the clamp in such a way that the locking catch is securely engaged in the corresponding socket. To remove the brush, push the locking catch forward out of its socket until it locks into place on the axis of the mounting clip. The brush can now be pulled off from the clamp.
- The round brush is designed for shaping the hair. To achieve this, the hair should be divided into single strands (not too thick) and then spread evenly over the brush, turning them inwards or outwards as desired.
- Apply for a few seconds at a time only, while allowing the hot air to take effect on the hair. Let the strands uncurl afterwards.
- Let the hair cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.
General cleaning and care
■ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
■ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
■ Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
- If necessary, the housing may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
- Remove any loose hair from the attachments after use.
Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.
