USER MANUAL 0792 AA SKIL
- This tool has been designed for blowing/collecting as well as vacuuming/shredding dry leaves and other dry garden rubbish such as grass and twigs
- This tool is intended for domestic use only and is not designed to be used under wet conditions
- This tool is not intended for professional use
- Check whether the packaging contains all parts as illustrated in drawing ②
- When parts are missing or damaged, please contact your dealer
- Read this instruction manual carefully before use and save it for future reference ③

SAFETY
GENERAL
- Only use the tool in daylight or with appropriate artificial lighting
- Only use the tool when completely assembled
- Avoid using the tool in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning
- Do not use the tool on wet lawns and when the materials to be blown/vacuumed are wet
- Do not blow at or towards hot, flammable or explosive materials
- Do not vacuum hot, flammable or explosive materials
- Never operate the tool in the direct vicinity of persons (especially children) and animals
- The user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property
Always disconnect plug from power source
- whenever leaving the tool unattended
- before clearing jammed material
- before checking, cleaning or working on the tool
- after striking a foreign object

PERSONAL SAFETY
- This tool can be used by children aged 8 and above and by persons who have physical, sensory or mental limitations or a lack of experience or knowledge if a person responsible for their safety supervises them or has instructed them in the safe operation of the tool and they understand the associated dangers (otherwise, there is a danger of operating errors and injuries)
Supervise children (this will ensure that children do not play with the tool) - Cleaning and user maintenance of the tool shall not be made by children without supervision
- Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders
Always wear long trousers, long sleeves and sturdy shoes when operating the tool - Wear protective gloves, safety glasses, close-fitting clothes and hair protection (for long hair)
- Wear a dust mask when working in a dusty environment ELECTRICAL SAFETY
- Always check that the supply voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the nameplate of the tool (tools with a rating of 230V or 240V can also be connected to a 220V supply)
- Connect the tool via a fault current (FI) circuit breaker with a triggering current of 30mA maximum
- Use completely unrolled and safe extension cords with a capacity of 16 Amps (U.K. 13 Amps)
- Do not connect a damaged cord to the power source or touch a damaged cord before it is disconnected from the power source (damaged cords can lead to contact with live parts)
- Only use an extension cord of types H05VV-F or H05RN-F which is intended for outdoor use and equipped with a watertight plug and coupling-socket

Only use extension cords with a maximum length of 20 metres (1,5mm^2) or 50 metres (2,5mm^2)

Always switch off tool and disconnect plug from power source if the power supply cord or the extension cord is cut, damaged or entangled (do not touch the cord before disconnecting the plug)
- Protect the (extension) cord from heat, oil and sharp edges
- Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the tool
- Inspect the cord periodically and have it replaced by a qualified person, if damaged
- Inspect the extension cord periodically and replace it, if damaged (inadequate extension cords can be dangerous)
- Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on and off; always have a damaged switch repaired by a qualified person
BEFORE USE
- Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of the tool
- Check the functioning of the tool before each use and, in case of a defect, have it repaired immediately by a qualified person; never open the tool yourself
- Before use, thoroughly inspect the area where the tool is to be used and remove all solid objects that could damage the shredding mechanism when vacuuming (such as stones, broken glass, pieces of metal)
- When vacuuming, never use the tool without the collection bag in place
- Regularly check the collection bag for wear or damage
- Never operate the tool with a defective guard or housing
- Replace worn of damaged parts
- Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure that the tool is in a safe working condition
DURING USE
- Always keep the cord away from moving parts of the tool; direct the cord to the rear, away from the tool
- Operate the tool at a walking pace only (do not run)
- Keep proper footing on slopes
- Always ensure that the ventilation openings are kept clear of debris
- Take a secure stance when working (do not overreach, especially when using steps or a ladder)

WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U.K. ONLY):
- Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire in the cord of this tool to the earth terminal of the plug
- If for any reason the old plug is cut off the cord of this tool, it must be disposed of safely and not left unattended
USE

- mount supporting wheel K as illustrated
- ensure that tubes A and B, collection bag C and guide handle D are assembled correctly and that shoulder strap E is adjusted correctly before operating the tool
! firmly tighten all screws, bolts and nuts
Cord restraint 11
- hook the loop in the extension cord over restraint F as illustrated
- pull tight to secure the extension cord

- switch on tool by pressing trigger switch G
- switch off tool by releasing trigger switch G
! before switching on the tool, ensure that it is not in contact with any object
! after switching off the tool the motor continues to run for a few seconds
Blowing 13
- select blowing mode with switch H as illustrated (only when tool is switched off)

Vacuuming/shredding 14

! do not vacuum solid objects such as stones, broken glass, pieces of metal
- do not vacuum liquids
- do not vacuum large volumes of leaf material at one time thus avoiding clogging of the vacuuming opening and blocking of the shredder impeller
- the shredding intensity depends on the size of the leaf material and its residual moisture
! when the tool suddenly stops, immediately switch it off, disconnect plug from power source, and remove any jammed material between shredder impeller and housing

regularly empty collection bag C (2) (the vacuum capacity decreases considerably when the collection bag is full)

Holding and guiding the tool (15)
! while working, always hold the tool at the grey-coloured grip area(s)
- use supporting wheel K for easy guiding the tube along the ground

for optimal results keep a 5 - 10 cm distance to the ground

! switch off the tool and disconnect the plug
- wait until the impeller comes to a standstill before removing the collection bag from the tool
- open the zipper of the collection bag and empty it completely
- compostic material does not belong with domestic waste
MAINTENANCE / SERVICE
- This tool is not intended for professional use

Always switch off tool, disconnect plug from power source, and ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete standstill
Always keep tool and cord clean (especially ventilation slots L ②) -
clean the tool after each use with a soft brush or a cloth (do not use cleaning agents or solvents)
- remove the collection bag after each use, turn it inside out and brush it thoroughly
- after removing the collection bag, ensure that possible dirt residues are removed from the released air outlet area
Storage 17
- securely mount storage rail S on the wall with 4 screws (not supplied) and horizontally leveled
- store the tool indoors in a dry and locked-up place, out of reach of children

do not cover the tool with plastic (plastic may cause moisture with rust/corrosion as a result)

If the tool should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL power tools
