Reading and storing the user manual

This user manual accompanies this VitalSteam (referred to below only as the “facial sauna”). It contains important information about start-up and handling.
Before using the facial sauna, please read through the user manual carefully. This particularly applies to the safety instructions. Failure to observe this user manual may result in severe injury or damage to the facial sauna.
The user manual is based on the standards and rules in force in the European Union. When abroad, you must also observe country-specific guidelines and laws.
Store the user manual for future use. If you pass the facial sauna on to third parties, please be absolutely sure to include this user manual.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the facial sauna or on the packaging.

WARNING!
This signal symbol/word designates a hazard with moderate degree of risk which may lead to death or severe injury if not avoided.

CAUTION!
This signal symbol/word designates a hazard with low risk that, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury.
NOTICE!
This signal word warns against potential damages to property.

Declaration of conformity (see chapter “Declaration of conformity”): Products marked with this symbol meet all applicable Community regulations for the European Economic Area.

The facial sauna has protection class II.

Do not use the device near bath tubs, shower trays or other vessels containing water.
Safety
Proper use
The facial sauna is exclusively designed for the care, recuperation and relaxation of the skin. It is only intended for private use and is not suitable for commercial purposes.
Only use the facial sauna as described in this user manual. Any other use is deemed improper and may result in damage to property or even personal injury. The facial sauna is not a children's toy.
Silk'n accepts no liability for damage caused by improper or incorrect use.
Safety instructions

WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
A faulty electrical installation or excessive mains voltage may result in an electric shock.
-Only connect the facial sauna if the mains voltage of the socket corresponds to the specification on the rating plate.
-Only connect the facial sauna to an easily accessible socket so that you can quickly disconnect the facial sauna from the mains in the event of a fault.
- Do not operate the facial sauna if it exhibits visible damages or the mains cord or mains plug is defective
- Do not operate the facial sauna if it exhibits visible damages or the mains cord or mains plug is defective
- If the mains cord of the facial sauna is damaged, the manufacturer, its after sales support or a person with similar qualifications must replace it to avoid risks.
- Do not open the housing; instead, have a qualified professional perform the repairs. Contact a qualified workshop for this.
Liability and warranty claims are waived in the event of repairs performed by the user, improper connection of the device or incorrect operation.
-Only parts that comply with the original device information may be used for repairs. Electrical and mechanical parts, which are essential for providing protection against sources of danger, are located in this facial sauna.
- Do not operate the facial sauna with an external timer or separate telecontrol system.
- Do not immerse the facial sauna, the mains cord and the mains plug in water or other liquids.
- Never touch the mains plug with damp hands.
- Never pull the mains plug out of the socket by the mains cord; instead, always do so by taking hold of the mains plug.
- Never use the mains cord as a carrying handle.
-Keep the facial sauna, mains plug and mains cord away from open flames and hot surfaces.
-Lay the mains cord so that it does not pose a tripping hazard. - Do not kink the mains cord and do not lay it over sharp edges.
-Only use the facial sauna in rooms located indoors. Never operate the facial sauna in wet rooms or in the rain. - Never store the facial sauna such that there is a risk of it falling in a tub or sink.
- Never reach to retrieve an electrical device if it has fallen in water. In such a case, immediately disconnect the mains plug.
- Make sure that children do not insert any objects in the facial sauna.
- Always switch the facial sauna off and pull the mains plug out of the socket when you are not using the facial sauna, cleaning it or in the event of a fault.

WARNING!
Danger for children and persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities (e.g. partially disabled persons, older persons with reduced physical and mental capacities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children).
-
This facial sauna may be used by children ages eight and over as well as persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities or those lacking experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in how to safely use the facial sauna and have understood the risks associated with using it.
Children must not play with the facial sauna.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by unsupervised children.
-Keep children under eight years of age away from the facial sauna. -
Do not leave the facial sauna unattended.
- Do not allow children to play with the small parts. Children could swallow small parts and choke.

CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
Improperly using the facial sauna can cause injury.
- The facial sauna must not be used if you suffer from the following ailments:
- irritated skin,
- reddening of the skin,
• swelling in the area of the face, - heart disease,
- diabetes,
- wounds around the face,
- eczema,
- psoriasis.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the facial sauna may damage it.
- Place the facial sauna on an easily accessible, level, dry, heat-resistant and sufficiently stable work surface. Do not place the facial sauna on the edge or corner of the work surface.
-Avoid the build-up of heat by not placing the facial sauna directly up against a wall or under cupboards or similar. The steam that is emitted could damage furniture.
- Never place the facial sauna on or near hot surfaces (stovetops etc.).
- Ensure that the mains cord does not come into contact with hot parts.
- Never expose the facial sauna to high temperatures (heaters etc.) or to the effects of the weather (rain etc.).
-Only fill the facial sauna with distilled water.
- Never immerse the facial sauna in water in order to clean it. This could lead to damage to the facial sauna.
- Do not in any case place the facial sauna in the dishwasher. It would be destroyed as a result.
-Stop using the facial sauna if its plastic parts exhibit cracks or breaks or are deformed.
Only replace damaged parts with corresponding original spare parts.
First use
Checking the facial sauna and package contents
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a sharp knife or other pointed objects, you may quickly damage the facial sauna.
- Be very careful when opening the packaging.
I. Take the facial sauna and its accessories out of the packaging.
2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see Fig. A).
3. Check whether the facial sauna or the individual parts are damaged. If this is the case, do not use the facial sauna. Please contact the Silk'n service centre in your area (see chapter "Warranty information").
Operation
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the facial sauna may damage it.
- Do not use tap water. Otherwise, calcification deposits could build up in the facial sauna and impair the functioning and service life of the device.
- Do not use any oils, herbs or other aromatic substances as a substitute for water.
I. Place the facial sauna on a level, non-slip, water-resistant surface.
-
Take the protective cap 5 and the water tank 1 off of the facial sauna.
-
Screw the lid 2 off and fill the water tank with distilled water. Refer to the scale on the water tank (see Fig. B).
-
Screw the lid back onto the water tank.
-
Put the water tank back in the facial sauna.
-
Pull the lid 7 off of the aromatherapy basket 6 (see Fig. C).
-
Fill the aromatherapy basket with essential oil or herbs and connect the lid and the aromatherapy basket again.
-
Put the lid with the aromatherapy basket back in the facial sauna.
-
Insert the mains plug in a properly installed socket. The facial sauna is now ready to use.
Hot steam

WARNING!
Scalding hazard!
During use, hot steam will escape from the facial sauna. Parts of the facial sauna will become hot.
- If the effect of the steam is found to be too hot, increase the distance to the facial sauna.
- At the same time, make sure that your face is no closer than 25 cm to the nozzle.
- Do not open the lid or water tank during use and not within the first 5 minutes after use.
- Do not steam your face for longer than 10 minutes per treatment.
I. Switch the On/Off switch 3 to the sun symbol

- Set the angle of the nozzle 4 to the desired height. After approx. 80 seconds, the first hot steam will be emitted from the nozzle and you can start the treatment.
- Slowly move your face towards the steam jet so that the steam covers your entire face and feels pleasant, but not too hot. Apply your skin care products within 2–3 minutes after steaming.
Cold steam
I. Switch the On/Off switch 3 to the snow flake symbol

-
Set the angle of the nozzle 4 to the desired height. After approx. 5 seconds, the first cold steam will be emitted from the nozzle and you can start the treatment.
-
Slowly move your face towards the steam jet so that the steam covers your entire face and the steam feels pleasant.
Cleaning and maintenance

WARNING!
Scalding hazard!
If you do not allow the water to cool off completely before emptying the tank, hot water could escape and you could scald yourself.
- Let the facial sauna cool off completely (at least 5 minutes).
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the facial sauna may damage it.
- Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal or nylon bristles, as well as sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as knives, hard scrapers and similar items. They could damage the surfaces.
- Do not in any case place the facial sauna in the dishwasher. The facial sauna would be destroyed as a result.
-Clean the facial sauna after every use to prevent fat and other residue from collecting.
I. Before cleaning, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
2. Let the facial sauna cool off completely (at least 5 minutes).
3. Empty and clean the water tank 1 and the aromatherapy basket 6 after every use.
4. Take out the drain plug 8 at the bottom of the unit to drain the remaining water. Tilt the unit to make it easier to drain the water. Put the drain plug back afterwards.
5. Clean the nozzle 4 and the main unit with a soft, damp cloth and wipe it dry.
Storage
All parts must be completely cooled down and dry before being stored.
-Always store the facial sauna in a dry area.
- Store the facial sauna so that it is securely locked away preventing access by children.

Disposal
Disposing of the packaging

Dispose of the packaging separated into single type materials. Dispose of cardboard and carton as waste paper and film via the recyclable material collection service.
Disposing of the facial sauna
(Applicable in the European Union and other European states with systems for the separate collection of reusable waste materials)
Old devices must not be disposed of with household waste!

In accordance with European provisions and laws, this product is covered by a 2-year warranty. The scope of the warranty for this product is limited to technical defects caused by faulty production processes.
