II.ASSEMBLY
- Be sure to charge the battery pack.
For more information about how to recharge the battery pack, see the Operating Instructions for your Panasonic rechargeable tool or battery charger. - Verify that the power ON/OFF switch is in the "OFF" position.
- Verify that the electrical contacts on the lantern and battery pack are free of dirt.

- Slide the battery pack into position until you hear it click securely into place.
To remove the battery pack, depress the latch and slide it off of the lantern.

When using the fluorescent lamp
- Avoid turning the fluorescent lamp on and off repeatedly in a short period of time. Doing so may damage the lamp or short en its service life.
- When using the fluorescent lamp for the first time, the area near the electrodes may turn black, and slight spots may form at the top of the lit lamp. This is normal and does not constitute a malfunction.
- When using the fluorescent lamp in cold weather, the lamp may take longer to reach its full brightness, and there may be some fl icker. This is normal and does not constitute a malfunction.
- Avoid use in temperatures of 0^ or below, which may cause the fluorescent lamp to dim or not to come on at all.
2) Set the LAMP/LED selector to "LAMP".

III.OPERATION
1) Set the power ON/OFF switch to "ON".

Over-discharge prevention function
-
When using the lantern with the LAMP/LED selector in the "LAMP" position (i.e., when using as a fluorescent lamp), the lantern will automatically turn the fluorescent lamp off and switch to the LED light if the battery voltage falls below a certain level. (The LAMP/LED selector will remain in the "LAMP" position.) This behavior is a sign that the battery pack needs to be recharged. (LN and R type battery packs provide enough power for about 60 minutes of LED operation before the lantern turns off automatically.)
-
The LED operating time varies with the amount of charge remaining in the battery pack and other conditions.
When using the LED light
2) Set the LAMP/LED selector to "LED".

Getting the most out of your lantern

In locations where there is nowhere to sit the lantern...

When working on a power distribution panel

Adjusting the handle angle
The angle of the handle can be adjusted to any of 8 positions at an interval of about 45^
