Read these instructions carefully as they contain important information about safe installation, use, and maintenance. Keep this manual with care for future reference.

• Before using the appliance, make sure it is in perfect working order. The outer casings should evidence no breaks or cracks. The sheath and plug on the power cable must not show any cracks or breakages. If the conditions described above are observed, immediately unplug the appliance from mains outlet and take it to an authorized After-Sales Service Centre for necessary checking.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Before performing any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect the appliance from the mains outlet by removing the plug from the socket or by switching off the electrical power.
• Route the electric power cable well away from the hot parts of the appliance.
• The appliance gets warm in the course of operation. Take great care to avoid touching hot parts of the appliance (plates and covers) as they could cause burns.
• Do not use the appliance near or beneath combustible materials (curtains, etc.).
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while turned on.
• Do not place the appliance against walls or under shelves, tables etc. Leave a space of at least 20cm around the appliance and 50~cm above it.
• Wait until the appliance has completely cooled before storing.
• The appliance has not been designed for use in the rain. It must not be stored outdoors or in damp places.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Keep the appliance out of children's and disabled persons' reach when in use and while still hot after use.
• Do not use the appliance in environments containing explosives, combustible gases or flammable liquids (paints, glues, spray cans, etc.).
• After each use, always carefully clean all of the parts in contact with food according to the instructions provided in the "Cleaning" section.
• Use only genuine spare parts if repairs or replacements are required. The above operations shall be entrusted to duly licensed support centers.
• Only for household use.

Should there be problems with the appliance, contact the authorised service centres.

Avoid repairing the appliance on your own.

Any repairs carried out on the device by unauthorized personnel will automatically invalidate the warranty, even if it has not reached the expiry date.

CLEANING

• Before cleaning, always disconnect the plug from the electrical socket and wait for the appliance to cool completely.
• To clean the covers, use a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive detergents.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• To wash the collection unit rinse it under running water and then dry it.
• To wash the heater unit rinse the inside and clean the outside with a damp

sponge/cloth.

• We recommend you pay attention when washing the coffee maker to avoid the lower parts, which hold the electrical components, from coming into contact with water.
• In the presence of hard water the formation of lime-scale on the bottom of the heater unit may IRREPARABLY DAMAGE the coffee maker. In order to avoid this inconvenience it is necessary to DESCALE the device periodically as follows:
• Fill the heater unit with water to the level of the valve.
• Add two teaspoons of citric acid.
• Close the coffee maker without adding coffee powder and simulate the preparation of the coffee.
• When it has finished, throw away the solution and carefully rinse the internal parts under running water.
• Before using the coffee maker again, perform a complete cycle and discard the content.
• Periodically check the internal components and replace any pieces in the case of wear or damage.
• To wash the base only use a cloth dampened in water.

The symbol representing the crossed out trash can on the appliance indicates t h a t the product, at the end of its useful life, must be treated separately from domestic waste. It must be taken to a recycling centre for electrical and electronic appliances or turned in to the point of sale when purchasing a new, equivalent,

appliance.

The user is responsible for taking the appliance to the recycling centre at the end of its life, under penalty of the sanctions foreseen by the current legislation on waste handling. • After removing the packaging, and before using the appliance, make sure the appliance and all the accessories are working well. If you have any doubt, do not use the appliance until you consult a professionally qualified electrician.
• The packing materials (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, nails, etc) should be kept away from children since they are potential sources of danger.
• Before connecting the appliance, make sure the line voltage is correct. The tag is located on the bottom of the body of the motor unit.
• If the plug does not fit into the wall outlet, have the wall outlet replaced with another type by a qualified electrician. He must also check that the cord is suitable for the power absorbed by the appliance. In general, it is not advisable to use an adaptor, multiple sockets, or an extension cord. • To avoid dangerous overheating, it is recommended that you unwind the electrical cord to its entire length and that you use the appliance as recommended in "Introduction".

Warnings and precautions

• Do not wash in a dishwasher.
• Do not submerge the lower part of the coffee maker or the base into water or other liquids.
• Do not use detergents and/or abrasive materials when washing.
• Do not place the coffee maker on heated surfaces (gas hobs, electrical plates, ceramic heating plates etc.) and make sure the base does not overheat (do not place it near heat sources). In order not to block the coffee filter, only use traditional ground powdered coffee for coffee makers.

WHEN USING THE FIRST TIME

After removing the products from the box, make sure they are complete and all components are present. Carefully wash the coffee maker before using it for the first time. Use the coffee maker a few times to make some coffee and discard it.

Guarantee

• The product is guaranteed for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase, with the functional conditions as foreseen in this instruction manual.
• The guarantee is no longer valid if non-original spare parts are used on the appliance.
• Faults caused by repairs made by unauthorized people are not covered by the guarantee.
• During the first 24 months the guarantee covers the replacement of all spare parts which are faulty.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Coffee Maker

FILLING/PREPARATION PROCEDURE

• Unscrew the collection unit.
• Extract the funnel from the neater unit.
• Pour the water into the heater unit paying attention not to exceed the safety valve outlet.
• Insert the funnel into the heater unit.
• Add the coffee as usual.
• Screw back the collection unit and place the coffee maker on its power base.

Base Timer: Turn on the base manually or by using the timer.

Base No Timer: Press the ON button to switch on the base.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

• When the coffee is ready an acoustic warning signal is activated.
• The coffee remains hot for 20 minutes from when the signal is activated.
  To serve the coffee, lift the coffee maker off the base and pour its content into the coffee cups.

Timer Base

IMPORTANT

Before start using the coffee maker, reset the timer: plug in the electrical base to an electrical socket and press at the same time "s", "+" and "-" button.

When plugging in the electrical base, if the red led is lighting, reset the base, pressing at the same time "s", "+" ", "-".

In order to protect the electrical base, the base has to be charged for at least 8 hours, before start using it.

• The power base must be plugged into the main power supply.
• When the plug is removed, the electronic system is powered for a week self-recharging internal batteries, which have the sole function of maintaining all the set programmes in memory.
• If the figures do not appear correctly on the display reset the system: reset the clock/timer by simultaneously pressing the three base Keys: "S", "+" ", "-" (with the device's plug in).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Clock Functions

The first time the appliance is used, when it is plugged in, the clock functions are activated and "0:00" appears on the display. To set the correct time:

• Repeatedly press the "S" button, until the word TIME flashes on the bottom left of the display.
• Press the "+" or "-" buttons, until the correct time is set.

It is possible to advance or retract quickly by keeping the "+" or "-" buttons pressed for a couple of seconds.

Setting the Alarm

To set the time to prepare the beverage:

• Repeatedly press the "S" button, until the word ALARM appears on the display.
• Press the "+" or "-" buttons until the alarm time is set.

Preparing beverages in automatic mode (alarm)

• Activate the timer by pressing the "S" button and then the "+" button: a bell without a bar will appear on the display.
• Prepare the coffee maker and place it on the base: it will start to work at the exact time that the alarm is set. An acoustic signal will advise the user when the coffee is ready. To deactivate the timer function: press the "S" button and then the"--" 6 button:a bell with a bar across will appear on the display.

PREPARING BEVERAGES IN MANUAL MODE

It is possible to use the base without it being programmed.

• Prepare the coffee maker and place it on the base.
• Press the "+" (ON) button for at least 4 seconds: the indicator light will come on which signals that the preparation has commenced. Also in this case, an acoustic signal will advise the user when the coffee is ready.

ACOUSTIC SIGNALS

The acoustic signals remain active for about 1 minute. They may be interrupted by pressing any button: "S" or "+" or "-". The warning signals are as follows:

• Acoustic signal for "BEVERAGE READY" (continuous sequence of short signals).
• Acoustic signal for "ERROR" (continuous sequence of short signals) which warns if the power supply has failed or any errors made by the user have occurred, due to forgetfulness:
• The coffee maker has not been placed on its base.
• A "DISCONNECTION" signal (continuous sequence of long signals). In all cases, after 12 minutes that the machine has been switched on, it automatically disconnects from the power supply and the safety disconnection acoustic signal is activated. The user may switch off the coffee maker at any time by pressing the "--" OFF button.

No Timer Base

IMPORTANT

The power base must be connected to an electrical socket.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

• Insert the base plug into the socket.
• Prepare the coffee maker and place it on the base.
• Press the ON switch for a minimum of 4 seconds - a green light indicates that your drink is being prepared. An acoustic signal tells the user when the coffee is ready.

ACOUSTIC SIGNALS

The acoustic signals are produced for approximately 1 minute. They can be interrupted by pressing the ON switch. The acoustic signals are:

• "DRINK READY" signal (continuous sequence of short signals).
• "ERROR" signal (continuous sequence of short signals) - to indicate the electricity supply has been cut off as well as user errors and oversights:
• Failure to place the coffee maker on the base.
• "SHUTDOWN" signal (continuous sequence of long signals)-after 12 minutes the base cuts off the power supply for safety reasons and emits a warning signal.

The user can interrupt the preparation of the drink at any time by removing the coffee maker from the base, unplugging the plug or pressing the "+" button.
