• The appliance gets warm in the course of operation. Take great care to avoid touching hot parts of the appliance (plates and covers) as they could cause burns.

• Do not use the appliance near or beneath combustible materials (curtains, etc.).

• Use only genuine spare parts if repairs or replacements are required. The above operations shall be entrusted to duly licensed support centers.

• Fill the heater unit with water to the level of the valve.

• Add two teaspoons of citric acid.

• Close the coee maker without adding coee powder and simulate the preparation of the coee.

• When it has nished, throw away the solution and carefully rinse the internal parts under running water.

• Before using the coee maker again, perform a complete cycle and discard the content.

• Periodically check the internal components and replace any pieces in the case of wear or damage.

• To wash the base only use a cloth dampened in water. DISPOSAL This produce complies with the Directive 2002/96/CE. The symbol representing the crossed out trash can on the appliance indicates t h a t the product, at the end of its useful life, must be treated separately from domestic waste. It must be taken to a recycling centre for electrical and electronic appliances or turned in to the point of sale when purchasing a new, equivalent, appliance. • When the plug is removed, the electronic system is powered for a week self-recharging inter- nal batteries, which have the sole function of maintaining all the set programmes in memory.

• If the gures do not appear correctly on the display reset the system: reset the clock/timer by simultaneously pressing the three base Keys: “S”, “+”, “-“ (with the device’s plug in).

PREPARING BEVERAGES IN MANUAL MODE

It is possible to use the base without it being programmed.

• Prepare the coee maker and place it on the base.

• Press the “+” (ON) button for at least 4 seconds: the indicator light will come on which signals that the preparation has commenced. Also in this case, an acoustic signal will advise the user when the coee is ready. ACOUSTIC SIGNALS The acoustic signals remain active for about 1 minute. They may be interrupted by pressing any button: “S” or “+” or “-”. The warning signals are as follows:

• Acoustic signal for “BEVERAGE READY” (continuous sequence of short signals).

• Acoustic signal for “ERROR” (continuous sequence of short signals) which warns if the power supply has failed or any errors made by the user have occurred, due to forgetfulness: -The coee maker has not been placed on its base.

• A “DISCONNECTION” signal (continuous sequence of long signals). In all cases, after 12 mi- nutes that the machine has been switched on, it automatically disconnects from the power supply and the safety disconnection acoustic signal is activated. The user may switch o the coee maker at any time by pressing the “-” OFF button. No Timer Base IMPORTANT The power base must be connected to an electrical socket.

The user can interrupt the preparation of the drink at any time by removing the coee maker from the base, unplugging the plug or pressing the “+” button.
