USING THE APPLIANCE
Important note:
Before using the kettle and glass teapot for the first time, we recommend that you follow these instructions for use, using just plain water, and that you then throw away the water that has passed through the appliance. This should clean the appliance and remove any possible dust or impurities that may be left over from the manufacturing process.

BASE UNIT
- Place the base unit on a stable, flat and heat resistant surface. Please ensure that the appliance cannot be knocked and cannot tip over.
- Plug the three-pole connection plug on the power cable into the appropriate socket on the base unit. The connection should be secure and should not wiggle.
KETTLE
- The lid of the kettle can be unlocked and opened by pressing the rectangular button on the kettle handle.
-
Fill the kettle with clean water. The quantity of water must be between the maximum and minimum water level indicators of the appliance. If the water level is too low, the appliance can overheat. If the water level is too high, boiling water may spill out of the machine.
-
Every time you wish to use the kettle, fill the appliance with fresh water. Throw away any left-over, cold and stale water.
- Close the lid of the kettle once more. The appliance will only switch off automatically once the water has boiled if the lid is shut. Press down on the lid with your hand and make sure that it locks into place audibly.
KETTLE / GLASS TEAPOT / GLASS TEAPOT WARMING FUNCTION
GB
- Place the appliance on the base unit on the socket designed for the kettle, and plug in the mains plug. The kettle must be stable on the socket of the base unit.
- Please ensure that the openings on the appliance are not directed towards people or objects as hot steam is emitted from these openings as the water boils.
- Set the switch of the appliance to "1". The power light indicates that the appliance is switched on. The water will now heat up.
- Please ensure that the lid is always fully closed while the kettle is boiling. Danger of burning.
- When the water has boiled, the appliance turns off automatically. The switch jumps back to "0" and the power light goes out.
After boiling the kettle, wait a minute until the water is no longer bubbling. Do not open the lid while the kettle is boiling or during pouring. - The boiling process is interrupted/ended immediately if the kettle is lifted from the base unit. The appliance turns off.
- The appliance is protected against over-heating, and operation is interrupted if the appliance is turned on unintentionally without any water. If this happens, the appliance must be left to cool for a minimum of 15 minutes before water is added and the appliance can be used again.
- When the appliance is not in use, please remove the mains plug from the socket.
GLASS TEAPOT
- The lid of the glass teapot can be opened by pressing the button on the inside of the handle.
- Use the handle on the filter to remove this from the teapot. You can now fill the filter with loose tea leaves.
- Replace the filter in the teapot. The filter must be slotted into the socket intended for it.
- Carefully pour hot water, but not boiling water, from the kettle into the teapot.
- Close the lid of the teapot. Leave the tea to brew.
- When the tea is ready, open the lid of the glass teapot by pressing the button on the inside of the handle.
-
Remove the filter from the teapot. When removing the filter, you must use the plastic handle provided. Danger of scalding!
-
Put the filter down on a surface that will not be damaged by water or heat.
- Close the lid of the glass teapot.
- When lifting the teapot, only use the plastic handle. Danger of burning!
WARNING:
Please note that the glass teapot is made from a heat-resistant material, but that it is still breakable. Never pour hot water into the pot while it is standing on the electric base unit. In the event of a leak, fluid could pour over the appliance. Danger of electric shock.
Avoid subjecting the glass teapot to large temperature differences. Never fill the teapot with cold water when it is still hot. Check the glass teapot regularly for any possible damage or leaks.
GLASS TEAPOT WARMING FUNCTION
- Prepare the tea as described above in the "Glass Teapot" section. Please note that the warming plate is to be used only for keeping the tea warm, and not for heating / boiling water or tea.
- Place the full teapot on the warming plate on the base unit.
- Press the ON/OFF button in order to switch the warming plate on.
- The "Current Temp" light will turn on, the display will light up, and the blue "Power" light will appear.
- As soon as the warming plate is turned on, the temperature sensor begins to measure the current temperature of the tea in the glass pot. This process can take a couple of minutes. The display will flash while this is taking place.
- If the level of liquid in the teapot has fallen below the minimum level, or if the teapot is not correctly positioned on the warming plate, the warming function will not work.
- If the temperature in the glass teapot is too high, the warming plate will not work until the tea has cooled sufficiently. In this case, the blue "Power" light will only appear when the tea has cooled sufficiently.
GLASS TEAPOT WARMING FUNCTION / CLEANING AND CARE / DE-SCALING
GB
- When the temperature sensor has measured the current temperature of the tea, this is shown in the display. The red "Current Temp" indicator will light up.

- The setting can be changed at any time.
- To end the warming function, press the "ON/OFF" button. The appliance will switch off.
-
The warming system stops automatically after 90 minutes in order to prevent the appliance from overheating. To continue the heating function, press the ON/OFF button once more, and repeat the instructions as above.
