How to connect the HyperX CloudX headset to a PC?

You can use the included USB control box: plug the 3.5mm jack of the headset into the box, then the box via USB into the PC. For a direct connection without the box, simply plug the 3.5mm jack into the computer's audio port. Make sure to select HyperX 7.1 Audio as the default device in Windows sound settings.

How to use the CloudX headset on PlayStation 4?

For optimal use on PS4, disconnect the USB control box and plug the 3.5mm jack directly into the controller. In PS4 settings, go to Devices > Audio Devices and set the headphone output to All Audio.

Is the CloudX headset compatible with Xbox One?

Yes, but you will need the Xbox One controller adapter (sold separately). Disconnect the USB control box, plug the 3.5mm jack into the adapter, then connect the adapter to the controller. The volume controls built into the adapter replace those of the USB box.

Can I use the CloudX headset with my smartphone or tablet?

Yes, unplug the USB control box and plug the 3.5mm jack directly into your mobile device's audio port. The microphone will work for calls and compatible games.

How to use the headset on an airplane?

Use the included airplane adapter. Insert the 3.5mm jack into the adapter, then plug it into the seat's audio jack (armrest). The USB control box is not needed.

Is the microphone detachable?

Yes, the microphone is detachable. You can remove it to listen to music or to replace it. Insert or remove it gently while aligning the connectors.

How to clean the ear pads and leather headband?

Use a soft, slightly damp cloth (soapy water) to clean the leather. Avoid harsh chemicals. The spare velour ear pads can be hand washed in warm water and air dried.

Does the CloudX headset support 7.1 surround sound?

Yes, the USB control box has a 7.1 audio button to activate virtual surround sound. It requires a USB connection on PC or Mac. Without the box, sound is regular stereo.

What is the weight of the CloudX headset?

The total weight (with microphone and cable) is approximately 320 grams, making it comfortable for long gaming sessions.

How to adjust volume and mute the microphone?

The USB box has a volume wheel and a button to toggle 7.1 audio. To mute the microphone, you can use the software control on your computer or, on some controllers, the dedicated button. The headset does not have a physical mute button on the cable.

Usage (Direct Connect) with No Control Box

Connect your headset directly to your computer, game console, or other device (phone or tablet) that has a 3.5mm audio jack.

Usage (with Control Box)

Connect the headset's 3.5mm audio jack to the input jack on the USB control box. The USB control box then connects to a computer using the USB connector on the end of the control box.

Using Control Box

To ensure that HyperX Cloud II is the default audio device, you must follow these instructions:

For Windows:

1. Open up Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Sound.
2. If the "HyperX 7.1 Audio" is not currently the default audio device, right-click on the option and select "Set as Default Device."
3. This should place a green check mark next to the default audio device.

Repeat the same steps for the microphone portion of the headset, located under the "Recording" tab (also found in the Sound program in Control Panel.)

To ensure that HyperX Cloud II is the default audio device, you must follow these instructions:

For Mac:

1. Click the Apple menu and select "System Preferences" from the drop-down menu.
2. In "System Preferences", click on the 'Sound' icon.
3. Click on the Input tab and select "HyperX 7.1 Audio" for default sound input.
4. Click on the Output tab and select "HyperX 7.1 Audio" for default sound output.

Usage (PlayStation® 4)

For optimal use with PlayStation® 4 (PS4®), unplug the headset jack from the USB control box and connect audio jack on the headset directly to the PS4 game controller and follow these steps:

1. Turn on your PS4® game console.
2. Navigate to the Settings Menu and select it.
3. Highlight the 'Devices' menu option and select it.
4. Scroll down to 'Audio Devices' and select it.
5. Choose 'Output to Headphones' and select 'All Audio.'

Usage (Xbox® One)

To use the HyperX Cloud II headset with Xbox One, you will need the Xbox One adapter (sold separately) that plugs into the Xbox One controller (pictured below.) Because this adapter has built-in volume controls, you will remove the USB control box (that came with your HyperX Cloud II headset) and connect directly to the Xbox One controller.

Usage (with Airplane Adapter)

If you are connecting the Cloud II headset to an airplane jack, you will not be using the USB control box. Just connect the headset audio jack to the airplane adapter (included with your headset) and plug directly into the airplane jack located on the front or inner side of the seat's armrest.

To make the HyperX Cloud II headset the default audio device, perform the following steps:

For Mac:

Using HyperX Cloud II with PS4

To use the HyperX Cloud II headset with Xbox® One, you will need an Xbox One headset adapter (sold separately), which plugs into the Xbox® One controller (see image below). Since this adapter has built-in volume controls, the USB control box (included with the HyperX Cloud II headset) is not needed: connect directly to the Xbox One controller.

Use with an audio adapter

When connecting the Cloud II headset to the USB port on the console itself, the USB sound card control is not used. Simply connect the audio jack to the audio adapter (included in the headset package) and insert it into the port located on the front or inner side of the console's seat.
