  2. Do not operate the oven when empty. This could damage the oven.
  3. Do not use the oven cavity for any type of storage, such as papers, cookbooks, etc.
  4. Do not cook any food surrounded by a membrane, such as egg yolks, potatoes, chicken livers, etc., without first being pierced several times with a fork.
  5. Do not insert any object into the openings on the outer case.
  6. Do not cook food directly on the glass tray. Place food in/on proper cooking utensil before placing in the oven.

IMPORTANT - COOKWARE NOT TO USE IN YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN

  • Do not use metal pans or dishes with metal handles.
  • Do not use anything with metal trim.
  • Do not use paper covered wire twist-ties on plastic bags.
  • Do not use melamine dishes as they contain a material which will absorb microwave energy. This may cause the dishes to crack or char and will slow down the cooking speed.
  • Do not use Centura Tableware. The glaze is not suitable for microwave use. Corelle Livingware closed handle cups should not be used.
  • Do not cook in a container with a restricted opening, such as a pop bottle or sealed oil bottle, as they may explode if heated in a microwave oven.
  • Do not use conventional meat or candy thermometers.
  • There are thermometers available specifically for microwave cooking. These may be used.
  • Microwave utensils should be used only in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
  • Do not attempt to deep-fry foods in this oven.
  • Please remember that a microwave oven only heats the liquid in a container rather than the container itself. Therefore, even though the lid of a container is not hot to the touch when removed from the oven, please

remember that the food/liquid inside will be releasing the same amount of steam and/or spitting when the lid is removed as in conventional cooking.

10 Always test the temperature of cooked food yourself especially if you are heating or cooking food/liquid for babies. It is advisable never to consume food/liquid straight from the oven but allow it to stand for a few minutes and stir food/liquid to distribute heat evenly.

11 Food containing a mixture of fat and water, e.g. stock, should stand for 30-60 seconds in the oven after it has been turned off. This is to allow the mixture to settle and to prevent bubbling when a spoon is placed in the food/liquid or a stock cube is added.

  1. When preparing/cooking food/liquid, remember that there are certain foods, e.g. Christmas puddings, jam and mincemeat, which heat up very quickly. When heating or cooking foods with a high fat or sugar content do not use plastic containers.
  2. Cooking utensil may become hot because of heat transferred from the heated food. This is especially true if plastic wrap has been covering the top and handles of the utensil. Potholders may be needed to handle the utensil.
  3. To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity:

a) Do not overcook food. Carefully attend microwave oven if paper, plastic, or other combustible materials are placed inside the oven to facilitate cooking. b) Remove wire twist-ties from bags before placing bag in oven. c) If materials inside the oven should ignite, keep oven door closed, turn the oven off at the wall switch, or shut off power at the fuse or circuit breaker panel.

If damaged, do not use the appliance until it has been repaired by a competent person;

WARNING: Servicing or repair of the appliance, which involves removal of the cover, is dangerous and must be carried out only by a competent person. WARNING: Do not heat liquids or other foods in sealed containers/bottles as there is a risk of explosion. Do not touch the edges of the appliance, do not block the ventilation openings of the appliance. - Use only utensils and appliances suitable for use in microwave ovens. Do not leave the appliance unattended when heating food in plastic or paper packaging as there is a risk of ignition; - If you notice smoke, switch off the appliance or unplug it from the electrical outlet, keeping the door closed to stifle any flames; - Microwave heating of beverages may result in delayed eruptive boiling, so care must be taken when handling the container; - The contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars must be stirred or shaken. Before feeding, check the temperature of the food to avoid burns; Do not heat eggs in their shells or whole hard-boiled eggs as there is a risk of explosion. The same applies to shellfish and crustaceans; - When cleaning the surfaces of the door, the interior of the oven, use only mild, non-abrasive soaps or detergents applied with a sponge or soft cloth; - Clean the oven regularly and remove all food residues; - Failure to maintain the oven in a clean condition could lead to deterioration of the surface that could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation; - If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. This must be done by Gorenje service. Do not use the appliance with abrasive cleaners, sharp objects, abrasive agents, abrasive sponges or cleaning agents for ovens.

General safety

As with any other appliance, certain rules for use and safety measures are given below, which guarantee the proper functioning of the oven:

  1. Do not use the oven for purposes other than its intended use, for example for drying fruits, textiles, paper products or other non-food items, as well as for sterilizing.
  2. Do not switch on the oven to operate without food/utensils in it. This could lead to damage.
  3. Do not use the oven for storing items, such as newspapers, cookbooks, etc.
  4. Store food products with liquid, for example, soups, potatoes, sauces, etc., without a lid so that the liquid does not spill in the oven. 5. Do not place these items in the openings of the oven cavity.
  5. Do not remove the turntable, for example, the glass plate, the roller ring, the coupling, etc.

IMPORTANT - DO NOT USE METAL UTENSILS OR CONTAINERS IN THE MICROWAVE OVEN.

- Do not use metal pans or pans with metal handles. - Do not use containers or utensils with metal parts. - Make sure that the metal handles are covered with a heat-resistant coating, which is used for closing plastic containers. - Do not use metal containers, such as metal material that absorbs microwave energy. This can lead to sparking or arcing of the containers and reduce the speed of heating. - Do not use Corelle Livingware dishes. They are not suitable for use in a microwave oven. - Do not cook in a container with a sealed or closed lid, as there is a risk of explosion when heated in the oven. - Do not use ordinary meat or candy thermometers, which are suitable for conventional ovens. - There are special thermometers for cooking in a microwave oven available on the market, which you can use.

7. Use only utensils that are suitable for use in a microwave oven, according to the manufacturer's instructions. 8. Do not attempt to operate the oven when it is empty.

  1. Remember that the microwave oven heats only the food in the container, but not the container itself. When the lid of the container is not properly sealed, or when it is removed from the oven, remember that the food/liquid in it may splatter or splash when the lid is opened, as in cooking in a conventional oven.
  2. Always check the temperature, especially when reheating or cooking food/liquid for small children. Overheated food/liquid should not be consumed immediately after removal from the oven. Let it stand for a few minutes, stirring to distribute the heat evenly.
  3. Leave the food in the oven for about 30-60 seconds, stirring a mixture of fat and water, e.g., broth, after the oven is turned off. This is to allow the heat to settle and to prevent splashing when placing the liquid in the food/liquid or when removing the broth from the cubes.
  4. When preparing/cooking food, do not forget that there are some foods, e.g. coleslaw, other raw meat, that spoil very quickly. When preparing or cooking food with high fat or sugar content, do not use plastic containers.
  5. It is possible for the cooking appliances to heat up because the heat from the food rises onto them. This happens most often if the dishes and handles are covered with plastic wrap. In such a case, use textile household gloves to grasp the handles of the dishes.

14. To reduce the risk of fire inside the oven:

a) Do not cook longer than necessary. Carefully watch the food if you have placed cardboard, plastic, or other flammable materials needed for cooking. b) Place the metal trays, used for closing the racks of the food, before you put them in the oven. c) In case of ignition of materials placed in the oven, keep the door closed, disconnect the oven from the contact and disconnect the electrical circuit from the fuse or circuit breaker.

  • Some foods (e.g., pudding, jam, etc.) heat up very quickly. When cooking food that contains a lot of fat or sugar, do not use plastic cookware.
  • The container holding the food may also heat up from the food. This is especially important if the cookware contains plastic elements. You will need a holder to remove the cookware from the oven.
